We were referred here by our family dentist after my son could not tolerate having his filling done…read moreunder novocaine. Everything went smoothly until my son could not tolerate the nitrous oxide either. We decided to have the procedure done in the operating room. That's when things fell apart. First, I was told that it takes 30 days to get authorization from the insurance company. I work in a surgery office and know that most insurances have 72 hours and at most 2 weeks to get back to you. The authorization wasn't even started until I called to check on it over 30 days later. The procedure was denied by insurance but I never got a call from the office, just a letter from the insurance company. The office did not check to see how we wanted to proceed. We would have paid out of pocket. We chose to take our business somewhere else and have recommended to friends to do the same.

My kids have been going here for 10+ years and they have been fabulous with both my children. They are "out of network" with all insurance providers and what this means is you will need to pay out of pocket at time of service. They will invoice insurance on your behalf, and you will get reimbursed by insurance. Beware that LJBS will invoice at the full cash rate not at the agreed upon contract rate. In our case the discrepancy between full cash rate vs agreed upon contract rate amounted to $250. So not only did I need to pay $650 out of pocket for 3 kids, for a normal run of the mill dental cleaning and check up, I was only reimbursed $400 from insurance. I've lived in 3 different countries, 7 cities - I've never come across a practice where you must pay out of pocket first. So if you're ok potentially being reimbursed less for a general service that is fully covered by insurance for basic needs, the hygienist is awesome.

Even the hygienist was very kind and patient with our 5 year old child. Our child did not have any cavities or dental concerns so we scheduled a return visit for the following year. Our second visit was today and we had a horrible experience. We met with a different hygienist than before and she was rude, inpatient and made our child feel extremely uncomfortable with her remarks. Our child was nervous and started crying when the hygienist came in. Instead of being calm and patient, the hygienist told our child if she did not stop crying " Mommy would have to wait in the waiting room." Then she proceeded to call another hygienist in and told me to hold my child down so they could brush her teeth. I said, ABSOLUTELY NOT! If my child is nervous, why would I restrain her? That sounds very aggressive and abusive to me. I told the hygienist that we can cancel the appointment or try again another time. She walked us to the checkout area. As we were checking out I asked to schedule an appointment with Dr. Young ( the first doctor we saw). The secretary was nice and said she would do it, but before she could put the appointment in Dr. Michael B. Quigley came out and refused to let us reschedule our appointment. His exact words were " If your child cannot handle seeing different providers maybe you should go somewhere else to a smaller, more private practice." I said " Are you refusing us services? " He said " We are not going to reschedule you." He also proceeded to tell me he owns the practice. His racist undertone was disturbing to say the least. I would never go back there again. Dr. Michael B. Quigley and the hygienist we saw today owe our family an apology. The way they treated my child and I was unacceptable.

Not only are…read morethe office staff friendly and accommodating, but the dental assistants who do the cleanings are wonderfully patient with the very youngest patients, and those who have special needs such as my nearly adult son with severe autism. My kids actually look forward to going to see the dentist without being bribed by toys, etc. I especially enjoy scheduling our appointments to occur concurrently so we can get in and out in the minimum amount of time. The later hours maintained by this office also allow me to schedule even on school days without having to pull my children out of school early.

Let me start by saying this dentist did do a few fillings for me which were fine. I thought i…read morewould be seeing him as my regular dentist for cleanings and checkups. I cancelled two appointments with his office. First time because I had a bad cold, the second because of a family emergency. I had to cancel these appointments within a month of each other. During this period of time, apparently I cracked a tooth and developed an infection. I called Dr. Gormleys office on a Monday and asked to be seen asap. The receptionist told me the first appointment they had was on Thursday. I explained I was a patient, i was sure i had an infection and was running a low grade fever. I asked if I could be seen earlier than Thursday. The receptionist said this was the first appointment they had available. I asked if they accounted for emergencies. The receptionist explained to me that I had MISSED two appointments and Thursday would be the first appointment they had for me! I said I did not miss two appointments, I cancelled two appointments. Again the receptionist told me all that was available was Thursday. I did find a dentist that day who saw me in the afternoon. He put me on an antibiotic for 10 days. The tooth needed to be removed once the infection cleared. I now see this dentist for regular checkups. I question the priorities of this office. This was the first time I have EVER been turned away by someone in the medical profession. Obviously I needed to see a dentist and needed treatment. Also, I think the office staff is given direction on how to manage patient care by the person whose business it is.
