If you are considering Sherry as your doula, take my advise and make her a part of your birth team asap! You will not regret it! Sherry is one of the best decision I made during my pregnancy. I had a unmedicated water birth at a birthing center and I honestly don't know what I would have done without Sherry! I seriously get emotional everytime I think about it because she was my rock! (Along with my partner). She kept me focused and kept me breathing through my contractions, which were very intense! There were a few points where I thought I could no longer do it and Sherry was there to remind me that I could, that I was doing it, and that I was strong and powerful. This was my first pregnancy and so me and my partner had no idea what to expect. Sherry is extremely knowledgeable and makes learning information about pregnancy, labor, and birth, fun. Our time with her was truly enjoyable and we found ourselves laughing together and having a good time during our prenatal visits. I ended up going into labor early at 38 weeks and 5 days. I didn't know for sure if this was the real thing, but contractions were getting pretty painful so I reached out to Sherry. She drove all the way out to check on me, guided me in breathing and provided touch and massage to help me relax. She did the same once we arrived at the birthing center. She guided me in breathing, movement, walking, stretching, different positioning, and in using a birthing ball to help me get through each contraction. She provided touch, massage, essential oils, and so much more as well. She did everything she could to help and guide me. I don't know what I would have done without Sherry by my side through this process, especially during my labor and delivery. I am so incredibly thankful for her in every way. Two of the most helpful things she did during the birth were help my husband and I understand medical terms so we could make the most informed decisions and help me best advocate for myself. There's so much to say about how wonderful Sherry was. We hired Sherry to be our postpartum Doula in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. My husband and I are from Australia and had no family in the US who could support us during the birth and postpartum period because of Covid. We Knew it would be a good idea to get a doula, and researched several different options. I came across Sherry's profile on yelp and was impressed by the number of positive reviews. From the moment I spoke to Sherry on the phone I knew she was the Doula for us. Sherry takes the time to listen and gives you the space to really feel and explain yourself. She is warm and knowledgeable and an incredible advocate for mothers, fathers, and families who are preparing for and going through birth. Sherry had several prenatal sessions with us and went through a range of things including thoughts and feelings around the birth, birthing positions and even some birth art. The sessions were highly enjoyable and helped prepare us for the birthing experience. As with all births there were a number of hiccups with ours including the baby being breach until quite late in the piece, and the baby also being 9 days overdue with questions about induction coming up as a result. Sherry was amazing in helping us to navigate all of these hiccups and understand our options. She was he was always available to answer any questions we had and took the time to listen to us and provide the information and support we needed. The baby eventually moved from the breech position, and I decided to be induced at 41 weeks and three days and took an epidural. Sherry was truly incredible during that process. She was so attentive, moving me into different positions, helping me stretch, massaging me, and providing aromatherapy. I felt like I was wrapped I a cocoon of love and support. It was a blissful experience. She didn't allow the epidural to be an impediment to birth positions, and I was able to be on hands and knees, sitting up, side lying - everything. For my husband, she was a rock too. She was constantly providing him with evidence based information which he could use to advocate for us whenever nursing staff wanted to do anything we were uncomfortable with or disagreed with. We felt so safe with Sherry in our corner. I was being asked to push before I was ready, and Sherry helped us delay pushing for several hours until I felt ready. I had such an amazing swift recovery, no tearing, and I honestly think that is because I was able to delay pushing for so long. She never left my side throughout the whole process and I can't imagine doing it without her. I experienced a lot of postnatal anxiety, and just like during the birth, Sherry was there for me during that challenging time too. She is a rock! I can't say enough positive things about sherry. Sherry is an absolute angel and baby whisperer. She swooped in, gently helped our newly expanded family in so many ways and has become part of our family. She helped me with breastfeeding, improved our latch significantly, gave so many wonderful suggestions (without overwhelming me), helped my milk come in, helped me with body work, did nights to help us get some sleep, taught my husband and I so much, and our baby absolutely loved her. Sherry Jones is nothing short of amazing. As first time parents, my husband and I were very anxious about labor and delivery. I had a lot of fear about the type of care I would receive at the hospital and really wanted someone who would be there for us from beginning to end. I knew when we met Sherry for the first time that she truly cared about us and this journey we were going to embark. From the time I was about 5 months, Sherry made about 5 home visits to help us build a solid relationship based on trust, respect, and friendship. During these visits, we talked about our birth plan, concerns, as well as breathing exercises and movements. Most importantly, Sherry made me feel comfortable to talk about my fears, asking stupid questions, and reflecting on my feelings and emotions during pregnancy. This was exactly what I needed to help me feel better prepared for when the baby comes. As we all know, things don't always go accordingly to plan and I ended up having to have an induction. Labor and delivery was longer and more complicated than we ever could have imagined. Despite it all, Sherry was there through it all and helped my husband and I find calmness and peace during some challenging moments. Without her presence, supportiveness, knowledge about medical procedures, and genuineness I know that my husband I would not have coped well during our 36 hour labor. I highly recommend Sherry.
