The service was okay. Everyone was friendly, but it took way too long for my order to come out -- especially considering all I got was avocado toast. And when it finally arrived, it was the blandest avocado toast I've ever had in my life. Zero flavor, no seasoning, nothing special about it at all. Their matcha was honestly bad, just not good at all. The boba was probably the best thing I had, and their coffee was just alright -- nothing worth going out of your way for. Overall, TAP Café feels way overhyped. The vibe is cool, the space is cute, but the food and drinks just don't live up to the aesthetic. If you're going for Instagram pictures or a chill place to sit, it works. If you're going for flavor or quality, it's disappointing.

What I really like there is the pie which has a lovely light crust that I'm pretty sure is made with lard because of the flaky texture (don't hate on the lard, it's had a totally undeserved hard time of it!). Love the cherry cream or the peach cream pie. My husband is partial to the chocolate cream pie. I've never been to Twin Peaks but I willing to bet this place could compete with the famous fictitious TP's cherry pie (not as a symbol but in taste...no one's been murdered in Wallacetown that I know of -there were a couple of guys several years ago but that was up the road a ways). Let me be clear that this is a small diner/store that provides a basic menu. It's liver and onions, fish and chips, hot dogs on the menu unpretentious. The tables are often occupied by local farmers, regular Joes and families. Locals might get up and pour their own coffee or pump their own gas if the place is busy. That being said...the service is good. The people are friendly and you can't go wrong with either kind of pie.
