I came in recently intent on light gray for my living room. I asked what they thought when I showed them my chair fabric and they immediately picked out a light creamy beige with gray undertones and I was amazed that it was perfect. I had the same experience a few years ago with my bedroom and they found the perfect color to compliment my bedspread. Douglas & Sons is a Kalamazoo institution.

I went…read moreto visit this past week and was "greeted" by a violent movie being shown on a large screen TV by the paint samples (what!?), and a few employees visiting behind the paint counter but not eager of help in any way. Not surprisingly, I was the only customer in the store. I would think that being across the street from a Home Depot (who offers their own great paints) would motivate the manager of this store to make sure that customers were pleased with their visit.

I tell you what, the associate "Mike" was extremely knowledgable, friendly and kind. Recommended a paint that I used solely on his recommendation- Wife loved it and will be going back for more and for future projects. The prices are a bit higher then other Lowes,not sure about Menards, but for the piece of mind, that these guys know there stuff and have used the product, its well worth it.
