I just want to send a belated thank-you to everyone at Waldo Hardware for always being there to…read moreanswer my questions, guide me in my purchases, and assist me in any homeowner's dilemmas. On this recent visit, I especially want to recognize Mike L. I was working on a church project and, not being creative, was stuck regarding how to fix ribbons to a pole. He showed me several displays of hardware around the store that might serve my needs. After looking in three different areas, we found exactly the right item! And then I needed an enzymatic drain cleaner, and he walked me through the specifics of the various brands for sale, going through the details until we found just the right one for my needs. MANY thanks to Mike L. for his knowledge of hardware and home upkeep items, for his persistence in searching various areas until we found exactly the right item, and for his friendly, patient and welcoming attitude as we searched together. Thank you for such a pleasant shopping experience! Your great customer service is the reason I return to Waldo Hardware FIRST!

Despite living a…read morehandful of miles north, we discovered it when looking to get somewhere via ebike and the Trolley Trail, and it's been kind of great ever since. I've brought my pup in here as she continues to need some socialization and it always goes well. One time the clerks had their dog too and they became fast friends. This store really packs quite a bit into it. Of course it won't be as sizable as a Home Depot, but man oh man is the experience world's better. I found every single thing on my list which was great. It's closest size comparison to me would be the Ace in Westport, but hey guess what, you don't have to fear for your life in KC's worst intersection if you come here! It's easy to park in the lot out front, off of the always-busy 75th Street. My kids love it because they have a gumball machine, whoopie cushions, and other classics from back in the day when the world was making real attempts to be fun. I think I might even go out of my way again to come back to this spot more regularly.. nice place.

I'm not a big fan of Benjamin Moore paint to begin with, but I started a project with some leftover…read morepaint and needed more. I tried Ace Hardware first because the people at this location are usually unfriendly, but Ace was out of what I needed. I went to Spectrum and they said the product was out of stock and took down my information for a special order. I called nearly 2 weeks later wondering if my paint came in and they had no record of my order. Turns out they had it in stock all along! Grrrr. I went to get it and asked for some kind of discount because they screwed up--a paintbrush, 5% off-- something for my inconvenience. They said it was a new employee and they don't give discounts for mistakes. I've worked retail for many years and this is such a crazy policy. I won't come here again and we'll stick with Sherwin Williams from now on.

This is our go to place for Benjamin Moore paint. The color selection for the brand is excellent…read more We have tried Ultra Spec 500, Regal, Aura, and Advance (used for woodwork). Ultra Spec 500 is definitely the best for walls. Regal and Aura are overpriced and tend to drip to due paint viscosity, so I wouldn't use these lines unless you plan on having your home professionally painted. Advance tends to drip as well, so you will need to practice if you plan on using it yourself. Otherwise, I would recommend hiring a professional painter to apply Advance. There seems to be some pricing discrepancies each time I buy in the store. Sometimes they will apply a painter's discount and other times will charge me full price. I have addressed the problem with the store manager on a couple of occasions. My only real complaint is they tend to ignore customers in the store unless they are professional painters. Of course, they make more money on these customers, but they should at least acknowledge a customer when he or she comes in and say how long it will be before they help them. I saw one woman sitting at a table for over 20 minutes without help. Not acceptable. I have gotten to the point that I just write my order down, place it on the counter, and then go to Einstein Bagels to get something to eat. By the time I come back, my order is typically ready.

I love the mix of whimsical, satirical, and locally-themed merchandise. There is always something seasonal whether that is late-year holidays, spring decor, or nifty merch in line with the local sportsball teams. You can easily spend wayyyy too much time in here, maybe leafing through some fun books or admiring the handmades & artisanal jewelry. Their jewelry section, which is mostly earrings and accent rings, is sourced from artisans both locally and regionally. I tend to pick up a stocking stuffer here just about every time I'm in because I know I'm not going to find those exact pieces anywhere else. Detail: the up-cycled clothes, such as Chiefs-themed distressed jeans, are ridiculously cool. The prices may be a touch more here and there, but you aren't likely to find some of those items elsewhere and therein lies the real value. Add in that the staff is always friendly and welcoming and the whole place has a happy feel. Parking is, well, Brookside, so get out and browse. Just know that your browsing may end up being more of an extended visit, just like when we stop in.

On this day, STUFF was stuffed to the gills with wonderful items, and a fairyland for Christmas shopping! You couldn't ask for a better place to find unique and artisan-made items, including jewelry, home decor items, books, candles, ornaments, glassware, and some of the best greeting cards you'll ever find. There are fanciful, fun, frivolous, practical, fragrant, wearable, beautiful, gift-able things to please every age, aesthetic, and gender. Of particular note is a beautifully designed-and-created by the proprietors collection of sweaters in aqua and red that would delight anyone, but especially Kansas City's WSL fans. On this day, the shop was also stuffed to the gills with shoppers, AND there were plenty of available, knowledgeable, helpful customer service personnel, including the owners and founders of "a store called STUFF"!
