Janis has been wonderful to work with, and I appreciate the time she spent even during days she would normally have a weekend, to ensure that my Dad and I got all of the items we needed to get him settled there. The apartment was freshly painted, with newer working appliances, and was very clean. The residents we've met there so far were friendly, and I was impressed with how active they were. I'm also excited that there are so many things within walking distance of the apartment complex. Although we haven't been there long, the beginning of this new chapter for my Dad has been smooth so far, and quite an improvement from his previous living situation. He is really happy, and that is what is most important to me.

I've lived at Helix 24 for 2 years. Overall have had very minimal issues. Main consistent issue is…read morethat the walls and ceilings are on the thinner side and my upstairs neighbors love to walk around in shoes made of lead 24hrs a day. Maintenance is INCREDIBLE. They truly are what holds this place together. If any issues arose, they were there the next day and happy to help. They've always been really respectful (which was initially a worry as a young female), always super accommodating, and they're fun to chat with (shoutout to Billy and Eddie!!). Management has been okay (they were really laissez faire about the complaints about the neighbors which was really irritating). The main reason i am moving is because they have raised their rent and started to implement some price gouging tactics that are ridiculous. This includes required monthly charges of $10 trash valet service, $10 credit reporting, $5 utility service fee, $25 sewer charge, and $15 waiver of liability insurance ($65/month on top of rent and utilities). And they have just started implementing a policy that any guests have to register their vehicle and pay to park (in a lot that I've personally never seen fill up) - $5/hour or $15/day- or they will be towed at the vehicle owners expense. They do offer free wifi (wonder how long it will take for that to become a required charge) but it does go out randomly and frequently enough. I can understand how thats a fair trade off for it being free... still worth noting though. I have yet to move out so i cant wait to see the cleaning fees that are waiting for me in July. But I can say that one of my roommates moved out after the first year and she was charged over $100 (i cant remember the exact amount) as a cleaning fee. When i tell you that girl was minimalistic, clean, and careful, i mean it. She left that room spotless and the cleaning ladies who came in after were not in there for long. It's not a bad place by any means. No bug issues other than the occasional spider, gnat, or ant. Appliances work great and when our fridge didn't, maintenance was right on it. Theres a bus stop for main campus and Hy-vee right out front. If money is not an issue and you don't mind the buildup of $5-10 charges, then I recommend it. If you move here and you are someone who throws parties or regularly has several people over just please, for the love of God, request a first floor apartment....please.

We didn't have an appointment for a tour or anything like that but we had looked at the website prior so we know what we liked that was open. We walked in and we were greeted perfectly by TieRre who was incredibly sweet and ran us through everything we needed to know about the apartment we saw online!! It wasn't quite done with its renovations but we were able to get a good look at the apartment, which is absolutely beautiful! We went home and immediately knew this was the place we wanted to live. The process of applying online can be a little difficult for someone who hasn't done it before but TieRie was always emailing us back with any questions we had, and helped us through the whole process! If he missed a phone call from us, he was super quick to get back to us with an email to let us know about anything we asked!! He talked about the community and the perks you get, and how he himself lives in this complex and loves it!! We are beyond excited to move in to our apartment in August, and can't wait to live in the community! Thanks again for everything you do TierRie you're amazing!!

Worst company ever. Alvadora is the same people that run Aberdeen Apartments and a few other…read moreapartment in town. I was helping my cousin move out and their poorly installed large bathroom mirror fell on me. Not only did they refuse to pay my medical bills but they charged my cousin $200 for the mirror that was stated to be only $60 in the lease contract to replace. When asked why there was such a discrepancy, their staff responded with the fact that they could. Seriously? Stay far away from these unprofessional staff and the apartments they manage.

They gave me all my deposit back, which had NEVER happened before, and I've lived at many many…read moreapartments. The office manager when I was there was Stacy Padilla. Repairs were quick. Neighbors were inconsiderate with a lot of noise throughout the day. Laundry room could get crowded on the weekend. The white family in the townhouse next to the break in the fence to Dillions was racist. Their kids were racist, so I assume their parents taught them that way. But again it's Kansas, so yeah........

They would get the heater area cleaned up. They were concerned about the sloppy repair on the wall in the downstairs bathroom, but that was too bad.... None of it happened, and then when we moved out, instead of a deposit return we got a bill. They'd decided, with no notice or recourse available to us, that the carpet needed replacing because we had pets, and billed us over a thousand dollars for it. Do NOT rent here!
