I literally just walked out in the middle of my appointment. Terrible terrible work. My pedicure started with dry salt scrub on my feet because she didn't want to wait for the basin to fill. She didn't trim or clean my nail - just a quick (bad) file. I thought maybe she's new so I'd let it slide because no one would see my feet. She started my shellac manicure and I got a freezing cold bowl of water, no cuticle trimming or oil, and a terrible file job. She started putting regular clear coat on my nails and then put my hand in the UV light. This is where I stopped her because she obviously didn't know what she was doing and I'm not there to coach her through a routine manicure. Don't waste your money. read more

Wow, I went there around 230pm on a Thursday, not a patron to be had, 2 employees, one feeding her face behind the counter and the other one reading a magazine, went in for a fill in girl told me to pick a color, I asked for the shellac , waited 5 minutes and finally told her I was ready, she is still eating, at that point I guess they just didn't want my business, I repeated I was ready, she says "give me 10 minutes I'm eating lunch" really!!!! UPDATED REVIEW: Boy, this place has gone downhill! I gave it a shot a few times a few years ago, and I had a decent experience. That has all changed The staff is horrible. There is a woman named Theresa who answers the phone. I called and made an appointment for an eyebrow wax, shellac manicure, and pedicure. She booked my appointment for 6:00pm. I arrived at 5:45pm to ensure time to sign in and pick out my colors. I waited.... and waited..... and finally I got my eyebrows done, but the woman who did them was 100% insisting I do threading instead, so I did. It was done in 5 minutes, so about 6:05. They put me at one of the foot baths to continue waiting. I sat there for, NO EXAGGERATION, over an hour! The water in the foot bath was completely freezing cold by the time someone got to me. In the meantime, I watched someone walk in and be seated for her nails right away. When I asked why that would be, the woman helping a customer next to me said she had an appointment. I explained (probably slightly loudly because that was so rude) that I ALSO had an appointment, but it was an HOUR ago. She just looked at me. When the woman did finally come over to do the pedicure (I believe it was approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes after my initial appointment time), the woman who scheduled my appointment, Theresa, said "sorry, we're running behind". YOU THINK? The woman doing my pedicure, I couldn't understand anything she said at all, so I felt bad when she would talk to me and I had to ask her to repeat herself. Because of this, somehow my toenails were not clipped or shaped at all? No idea how that would happen during a pedicure! The Shellac was somehow painful. I've gotten shellac manicures no less than 30 times in my life and never once has it ever hurt. Somehow the shellac hurt my nails, and my fingers ached something awful for an hour! The worst part was, I couldn't complain at all, because the woman doing my nails told me that the woman in front of me complained (about a screaming employee yelling about how horrible one of her customers was), so the manager had to give her a refund, and how she HATES when customers complain, and she should just leave if she doesn't like it there. So I just felt extremely uncomfortable. This place has the most turnover of any salon I've ever been to! The employees are ALL very angry and rude, and the people who manage it clearly don't know what they are doing. I wrote a short unhappy review on facebook and for the sake of transparency, someone responded offering me free services for a positive review. But that isn't my experience. I'm not going to change my review because they want to change the way they do things... because if someone goes in on any random day, they're not going to get prompt and good service, they are going to get a nightmare. read more

I recently saw a special on ABC nightline showing the nightmares of going to unclean nail salons , so I was very surprised to find a place that places a high value on cleanliness and safety. I only have had a few manicures in my life so I don't know all the particulars, but the owner who actually did my manicure explained everything to me while receiving the service. My experience was amazing, from the lemon scrub to the hand massage and above else I didn't experience any pain like I have from another place. I know its uncommon for men to receive manicure's but I never felt out of place and would go again. I think women need to be more aware of the type of establishments they go to, its not all about the look of the nails, its about safety and cleanliness. I only came here because my place was closed 6/1 and I needed my toes done before my event got my toes down asked for all white shellac but the tech put this weird red on my big toe the rest white I told them just to leave it cause I have some where to be the event got cancel do to storm so I asked for my nails to be done just my regular nails nothing special just my nails painted with shellac. After a good wait since there was 4 ppl in the building but only one did nails I got my nails done she rush thru cause others were waiting. I went to pay total of 61 dollars they proceed to tell me my nails cost 31 dollar. When I asked why cause I've never paid more then 15 for some shellac on my nails.they tell me it was because she had to buff and file my nails. You are greeted upon arrival,the salon is beautiful, stylish and VERY CLEAN I usually dread getting my nails done; trying to ind a salon that is clean, and that actually sanitizes work areas and instruments between clients. This establishment is unsanitary and filthy, they don't clean the foot scrubbers used for pedicures , they double dip in wax and rarely change the wax bedding , they don't ever wear gloves to wax nor wash their hands. Unless you want a staph infection or fungus stay away from this place. I'm definitely reporting them to State Board. They have unlicensed techs who don't know proper sanitation working and the worst quality of products you can find. They also wash the cups they give you for tea in the same water they soak the pedicure foot files in and it's no hot water so the dishes aren't clean at all. I got a groupon for a shellac manicure and pedicure and took a friend with me. We had an appointment for 2:00 and got there before 2. We had our colors picked out and sat in the chair...that's when it all got ridiculous... the technician started my pedicure and my friend was waiting...and waiting...and waiting... there were 3 people working and one other person getting their nails done and I made an appointment so I don't understand why we had to wait so long, but ok. So I get done with my pedicure and sit at the chair to get my nails done and the technician moved over to do my friend's nails, which I was okay with other than the fact it took her 4 times to get the polish on my friend's toenails, which still aren't good and look horrible. We sat down at 2 and we left at 4 after only getting a pedicure done! Two hours for two people to get a pedicure...am I missing something!? All the time I sat in the chair and waited to get my nails done there were two other customers (not including my friend) and two other people who worked there. One customer was starting her pedicure, one was sitting in front of the dryer while the other person who was there "working" was talking to her and filing her own nails while I sat there waiting to get mine done. When I got my nails done in the past, I would always go here. I don't think that will be the case anymore because of my last two experiences. In the last two months I have went twice, each time with an appointment. The first of those two times my appointment was at 1130 for a full set and a pedicure French tip. Another lady without an appointment came in minutes before my appointment to get a pedicure an was not the happiest I went ahead of her. It wouldn't have been a problem if they were appropriately staffed. The lady started my pedicure but could not do the French tip on my feet because she was not confident in her skill. I had to wait for the technician in the salon who could do it. She was also the only technician who had the skill to do fill-ins or full sets, so after she painted my toenails she had to go back to her original customer and finish her nails. By the time I had all of my services completed it was about 330, and had spent 4 hours in their salon for two services. I scheduled another appointment, giving them the benefit of the doubt it was just short staffing the last time. I go to get my nails filled with the preference of a gel white tip polish in because in the last experience I did normal white tip polish and it didn't last for more than a couple of days intact. she stated they were out of it in the gel. She looked young and inexperienced and honestly I thought maybe she had lied about it being out because she couldn't do it. Instead I said we could just take off my gel acrylic and do a shellac polish and manicure instead. I'm sure she was inexperienced because she first filled one bowl with plain alcohol and the other with acetone to soak off the previous gel and acrylic(she realized this after 10-15 minutes of soaking). I had sat for about an hour soaking because she must not have know to soak and buff off a layer and repeat until it all came off. An experienced technician came in for her shift and took over and began that process. After a total of two hours and ten minutes I had successfully had them take of my old nails and do a shellac manicure, which I think is far too long for what I was having done. My appointment for the experience above was supposed to be with someone who had Apparently quit or had been fired and I think it would have been wise if the business owner or manager to have given a courtesy call to inform me of this, or at least have had a skilled technician that could perform acrylic gel white tips in for my appointment that morning. read more

My friend and I needed pedicures on a Sunday and this was the only place around that was open. Wasn't sure what to expect since the location isn't in the most desirable area, this salon is located in a back corner of the plaza it's very easy to miss. Walked in and the ambience is lovely, very classy and relaxing. Best pedicures we have had in a long time! They took their time and the leg and foot massage was awesome! I wish I could rate this beautiful salon a five. The decor is absolutely beautiful. The copper look pedicure bowls. The beautiful faucets. The drinks being served as you receive services; all make this a possible five star location. At a typical nail salon a shellac polish service is $15.00 here it is $25.00. You do get great service so I am sure it could be worth it. I unfortunately did not get the shellac polish I got a express manicure and pedicure. My manicurist was awesome! I laughed and enjoyed her company. Sometimes there was too much talking and not enough relaxing. So why the three rating? My nails were cute until I left the shop. They were not dry at all. I was given a topcoat, two layers of nail polish and another clear coat on the top. That is four layers of polish. I was told the end coat was quick drying as I was put under the dryer. My nails looked dry when I left but they were not. I have to go back to another nail tech today to fix my nails. That my friend is called wasting money. My daughter received a fill of her acrylic nails and she left looking low budget to say the least. Her manicurist was in a hurry and talking on the phone to her boyfriend most of her visit about picking her up. This salon has GREAT SALON potential. The prices are very expensive in relation to other nail salons.. That's ok, if the services rendered are up to par. If I don't choose shellac on any given visit I still should leave the shop shop with dry beautiful nails that myself and my daughter don't have to get done over somewhere else. I do have an appointment for a shellac manicure in two weeks... My motto is still three strikes and you are out. The decor and customer service made this a half a strike instead of a full strike. If I had my daughters nail tech it would have been 2 full strikes. Hopefully I can re-review this establishment at some point and eventually give a 5 star review. That is all up to the salon. This is one of the worst places to go to, the lady did not know how to do my nails properly and the pedicure was awful the next day I open up my refrigerator and my nail broke. My sister-in-law sat in the water for a pedicure for an hour and half and did not get a pedicure. I'm not sure how this place keeps voted as a top nail salon in Metro Detroit. They use cheap products as all Asian owned salons do. They are slow. They never start your service at appointment time, it's always a 30 minute wait before you see someone. (Appt at 1:00p, no one started until 1:40p) This is my third or forth visit after trying to give them a chance, and it's not worth it. It's always the same thing. Was ridiculed for not getting regular pedicures by tech as well as my eyebrows not being done. No soap in either dispenser when asked to go wash my hands for the mani. I was left with dirty-feet smelling cuticle oil on my hands and shellac all over my cuticles which I have to soak off due to it being that uncomfortable. I'm new to the area, having recently started work not too far away and desperately needed a new set put on, and I decided to give this salon a try...I'm so glad I did! I had read the couple of previous not-so-hot reviews, but having worked in customer service/personal care I knew that sometimes it doesn't matter what you do, an individual having a bad day will occasionally get ridiculous about minor things in response to other issues in life that are out of their control. The salon has such great atmosphere, and everyone working when I came in seemed cheerful, despite the fact that I couldn't arrive until after 6pm. I love the beautiful foot bowls and pedi area, and I loved having great music on instead of "family feud" on t.v. I also love that the owners (as well as all the techs) are so focused on cleanliness and informing their clients about safety. I really appreciate that there was info on both up at the front desk for clients to take with them. I am beyond thrilled by the services I had done! My pedi was done at a steady pace, but not rushed in any way. My nails are epic! I had been told at another place that I needed to have fairly long nails for a coffin shape to look good... that was so wrong! Crystal did an amazing job on my nails (and above mentioned pedi), and she was a great conversationalist too. There's nothing worse than having a service done in awkward silence! I am still looking for a nail salon since I'm new to the area. I loved Alex, she did my nails and definitely took her time to make it look good. I am rating this 3 stars, though, because I made an appointment at 5:00 and started my appointment at 6:00. Which was really disappointing and annoying. I must say as a license nail tech myself for over 30 yrs I was very disappointed in my nails and to be honest the service of the techs also. As a member of the media I am always looking for a good nail salon that will offer me and my colleagues good nail care and service. I was just at this nail salon over the weekend and wow was I disappointed. Now let me make this clear the salon itself was nice but the nail service was horrible. I ask for gel nails but I noticed the only gel that was used was the finishing top coat. Meaning they used acrylic on my nails and not the gel products I paid for. Now listen , when gel nails are requested gel products are to be used not acrylic power and liquid. I also noticed that the shape of my names were no where like I requested, they looked more like press on nails. When you have nails applied they should contour to your fingers not look so wide and not fit the fingers of your clients. Another thing is nail tech etiquette, it is important to remain professional at all times and not to mention how you dislike the salon or leave your client in the middle of nail service. I'm really debating if I should share this review with my readership and staff. Either way, I can't offer this salon not even a one star I'm so disappointed!! Lisa read more
