Two bikers for every hiker. It can get crowded if you aren't hiking alone with bike traffic. Surprisingly not too many bugs even though it rained the day before. TH at the very end of the parking lot. Numerous pavilions, fishing piers, playgrounds, and a small beach. I took a dip in the lake after hiking and it was refreshing, but the shoreline is small and the swimming area doesn't go much deeper than four feet. Water was clear, to the point where I could see a band aid in the sand. On another note, coming from Detroit you will run into construction on HWY 96 (Summer 22) as you near Kensington Park. I had minor delays at 9AM, but on my way back there were massive delays with only one operating lane. Check before you go.

The fishing pier is well-designed and made for a relaxing place to spend a few hours. I brought my 90-year-old dad fishing, and the park was very accessible and comfortable for him. The paved paths, clean grounds, and peaceful atmosphere made it an enjoyable outing for both of us. If you're looking for a scenic, well-kept park to fish, walk, or simply enjoy the water, Marshbank Park is definitely worth a visit.

Small parking lot that you can see once you crossover 696 on Farmington Rd. Before you get to the main trail you pass the restrooms which is not modern at all. Didn't know you could have something that is closer to the outhouses of my rural southern Ohio childhood than normal gas station ones you find up here. Trails are mostly dirt with some wood chips so think ahead before you try to hike after a night of heavy rain. A few other hikers learned the hard way that expensive tennis shoes wont be as nice if you go too far. I had my Keds on but not your grandmother's Keds but water proof ankle high boots Keds. Besides a few slides on a hill, worked wonderful walking thru wet parts. Enough benches and trail markers to let you rest and not get lost, it is a good way to spend an hour or two. I didn't get all the way back to the pond due to the heavy rain night before, I managed to spend an hour enjoying here and remembering the woods I played in as a child. If you have children, get them off their games and out into the sun. Take them to a place they can get dirty and see bugs and butterflies upclose and personal. Just don't let them wear their good shoes or jeans like the mother I saw coming back to the parking lot with muddy kids.

Lots of restrooms and parking. Pets are not allowed in the grass but I see pet lovers bring their dogs on a leash while walking. There's a children's playground. You can do sit ups, leg curl etc from the metal bars installed on certain location. Great place to have a picnic or bring food for a bbq party. May need to ask the admin for a permit. I will never get tired of Maybury State Park. It's my favorite place for a hike on the west side of…read moremetro Detroit. I come here throughout the year, but my favorite season to hike the various trails is in autumn. I spent around 4 hours walking several trails off the main paved walkway, and it was so picturesque with the changing color of the leaves. I can spend all day here. There are trails for cyclists, too.
