But is the company reputable? And do you really want to go with a relatively new company even if is owned by your buddy. He decided, no. Newman is competitive with hundreds of 5 star reviews. He went with Newman. Subsequently we had a hail storm and neighbors were advising us to get our roof checked out. Our roof was 20 years old. I wanted to be honest with the insurance company and not submit a claim unless Tyler from Newman,who came out to give us an estimate, was sure we needed a new roof and we suffered damage beyond normal wear and tear. Plus we had 2 houses. Well one needed a new roof and the other one likely has another couple of years left. As an aside, if you turn in a claim to your insurance company, even if it is denied, you risk higher premiums or cancelation. That is why it is important to have Newman Roofing spend time assessing. In our case, our roof was more wear and tear with minimal hail. Dan and his guys were on time, even early. Weather has consistently been in the mid 90's. I was worried. But Newman keeps them well supplied with hydration. 14 man crew meant lots of vehicles, even a dump truck but they were minimally disruptive to our neighbors. Furniture moved, netting put up to minimize construction mess on house and garden areas. And then they went to work. All I can say is WOW. I am so pleased. When they were finished, the cleaned up all the mess, including using a magnetized thing for nails in driveway, patio and grass. The yard, the patio, the driveway, the porches are SPOTLESS. I highly highly highly recommend Newman Roofing. They did my kid's. They did this roof and in 2 years they will do our other roof. Price is good too.

One of several business this guy has, supposedly he only has 1 business though. AKA Lloyd thompson…read moreconstruction and I believe some home inspection business. Fell for this scam artist. Showed up with a vague contract that didn't address half the issues with a roof needing done. Didn't show up 3 times after the 50% deposit was given then got hostile and said I was acting like his nagging wife because I sent 2 texts asking why he didn't show and called once. Raised his voice and cussed and said I was unprofessional and didn't know how to run a business. He has an F on BBB. His helper that showed up to work before they left for tarps and didn't come back had no teeth. He has multiple businesses, addresses, and phone numbers under his name. Several court cases against him one naming his business specifically all in Licking county records lookup. Told him we don't trust him and not letting him do the job, never did any work, told him check was canceled so he went to checksmart and cashed it. Wouldn't answer his door and called 15 times before he answered. He tried to get me to remove the hold on the check so the check cashing place would leave him alone. I offered to pay for his expenses the dumpster he rented (is all he payed for) he said he spent 8k on materials even though it didn't come the day he said and I asked for invoices and if it was still showing up here, no response, aside from cussing at me continuing to be very disrespectful. Can't do the metal roof on this small slope and multiple issues up there were not even mentioned by him. His house and roof look terrible stay far far away from this person and his multiple shoddy businesses. BBB and attorney general complaints are coming enjoy your stolen money. Nothing but excuses disrespect and no shows while he was trying to get the check cashed. If he had communicated at all why he didn't show up I wouldn't have gotten suspicious. Any reviews this guy has seem to be facebook ones that I am sure he wrote. The references he gave when I didn't see initial reviews (due to his numerous businesses being confusing) one was a random person I can find nothing about the other a contractor with 20 1 star reviews. Claims to be licensed did not see him on the licensed roofers list.

He was physically present almost every day of our 15 day project. he addressed our concerns in real time , preventing delays. When we called with concerns, he had already addressed the issue. The completed job is beautiful and we have received many compliments from friends and neighbors.
