Wed was the last sunny 50s day and all went well. Customer service was good. Workers were on time and completed tasks appropriately. Dings on stars for 2 things... the install isn't as even and perfect as I prefer (the tops and flashing pipes are not straight and it looks like the shingles were not peeled back evenly and placed back over the pipes fully on the lower bottoms)... and the owner said he would send me a receipt when the check cleared. Usually receipts are given at time of payment. Seems strange and made me pause. Note... it's been a week, pretty sure the check has cleared. Hmm. No receipt yet. *\(^o^)/*

We went into our attic to investigate and were shocked to find it full of mold. This was not the case when the roof was first installed, so it's clear the original leak was never fully resolved. When Jake arrived, we showed him the leak and the mold in the attic. He said a technician would come out in a couple of days. That was the last we heard from him. I followed up with calls and texts, but now I go straight to voicemail and receive no replies. They've completely ghosted us. Do not use these contractors.

Oscar came out with the rest of the team and brought them up to speed with what needed to be done and Jonathan the foreman took over after that. As they had to come in and out of my house several times to access the roof they were always very courteous. And they invited me up on to the roof a couple of times during their work to make sure that I understood exactly what was happening and encouraged me to ask questions so that I could feel comfortable that everything was being done to my satisfaction. David and team did an outstanding job: 1. Tearing off multiple layers of old, crumbling roof 2. Installing new insulation and granulated roofing 3. Spot repairing brickwork around the chimneys and edges 4. Spot tuckpointing the front limestone of the building 5. Cleaning the property afterwards The job was done in a total of 4 days, 2 for the tear off and re-roofing and 2 for the masonry/tuckpointing work. I was very impressed by how quickly they were able to get this done given the severity of the issues and the difficulty of the project. The team was very transparent with me if any issues were identified that would cost more than our original quote and all costs were given with pros/cons for me to drive decisions before any work was started on them. I was expecting issues given the difficulty of the project and they were able to solve all the issues for only ~10% more than my original quote, which was less than I was expecting. The extra 10% was my choice and I did not feel pressured or blindsided in any way, it was well worth it for the wellbeing of the building. All this to say, I would absolutely recommend APR Roofing for your roofing and masonry needs - they were efficient, cost effective, transparent and honest.
