I went there to have an unusual noise checked out. I felt that paying him, $90, for his time and effort was a good decision. As it turns out.....NOT a good decision at all! He diagnosed the noise as the flywheel between the engine and transmission needing to be replaced. In addition, he also listed his needed repairs that were unrelated to my concern. They were axles, steering linkage and suspension parts, and an oil change. He gave an estimate of $3,086 for the cited repairs and I just had the oil changed 1 month ago. I was not told that he would be publicizing my vehicle's VIN and the cited repairs online for anyone (including car dealers) with access to Car-fax to see. When you go to trade in your car or truck after Dale Stroebel gives you an estimate, even if he does not do any work on your car, this information will be published! He told me this after the fact, and after I had visited a car dealership. There was no up front disclosure regarding his use of the information that he gleaned by inspecting my car.

What I really liked was the fact that the two employees spoke to each other respectfully and professionally, confirming information and working as a team, not like a couple of poker buddies who happen to work together, yelling across the room. Like I said, professional. They also took the time to wish me a safe ride home since an ice storm was beginning.

They said that I need new rotors…read more They placed them into my vehicle and the vibrations felt in the steering wheel were still present. Then, they refused to fix the problem claiming that all of their employees were quiting their jobs. Therefore, took my vehicle to another Monro shop in Saginaw Township Michigan, They claimed that I needed Bushings, not new rotors. They replaced the bushings and the problem continued. So, $1500 spent and Monro refuses to fix, replace or warrant the service and resplcement products.

However, the Redmond's on Gratiot truly let our family down. My sister recently died and when we went through all her invoices from Redmond's, it was glaringly apparent that they completely took advantage of her for years! Charging her exorbitant amounts of money for simple fixes. They should be ashamed of themselves...so disappointing.
