I called the location in the morning and when I mentioned that I thought it was head gasket issue the man on the phone scolded me and told me I had no idea what I was talking about. He gave me a grandiose lecture on how he knows all about cars and has been doing it for x amount of years. He was extremely rude and dismissive. He called me several days later and told me it was NOT a head gasket. I then took my car to the Meineke on the same road (where the man was very kind by the way) and they told me that my car did, in fact, have a severe head gasket issue. Not only is this mechanic extremely disrespectful, but he also apparently has no clue what he's talking about. I'm sorry but if a 20 year old woman knows more about cars than you do you may want to rethink your career. What a waste of time and energy.

My brother's review: John is a man first, and awesome mechanic next! Had to get towed in to his shop unintentionally, and unbenounced but still service was rendered gleefully. The vehicle was of a family members, but treated as my own. John was more honest about what all could be wrong, but still reassuring of what could also be done. The part was miniscule but needing to be ascertained elsewhere. Although we waited hours till arrival of the part, John tailored to our needs and wants. If there is anything they don't know (which is rare), they will be upfront about it and won't act as though they know it, unlike many others. They are willing to help you as much as they can. They even go out of their way to find information for brand new cars, that many others don't care about. EDIT - I was there a week back to install my transmission mount (CTS Turbo transmission mount). I went there unannounced and they found time to accommodate me in between their busy schedule. Got the car on a lift and, while trying to install the mount, realised CTS had sent me the wrong mount. They put the oem mount back in and got the car on the ground. I wanted to pay them for their time but they didn't charge me a cent!!!! Shocking considering no one would do that for someone they haven't ever seen and just walked in. They said it wasn't my fault that I got the wrong part and wouldn't charge me for it. They asked me to come in when I get the correct mount. I have an appointment on 02/07/17. Looking forward to dealing with them for all my installs from now on. If there was a way to give them more than 5 stars, I would!! EDIT 2 - So I did visit them a second time after I got the right mount. They installed it for me in less than five minutes. And the funny part. They charged me less than what they quoted over the phone (which was less than a quarter of what the others quoted)!!!! I mean. Who does that? The best I've ever dealt with in Bourbonnais. I can honestly say I was not disappointed. Great guys, AND affordable prices that equals the quality of services when you need an all in one! Acme Auto Parts Inc. left a great first and last impression. Robert was the great guy that assisted me. I had a broken passenger window due to attempted car theft, and Robert was so kind and patient throughout the entire process. We played phone tag for about a week or so due to my busy schedule but Robert was always so willing to work around the chaotic schedule. Finally, I was able to have the work done and it took about an hour. Fast and efficient! The mechanics understood the assignment and handled everything perfectly and correctly. I was able to get in and out without an issue, and still was able to do the rest of my errands right before picking my kid from school. My daughter found Absolute Automotive in Coal City. I needed a brake job. Jim, the owner, did a fantastic job and charged a fair price. I recently experienced the dreaded "Check Engine" light phenomenon and took my car to Absolute. The diagnostics were inconclusive. Jim conducted a couple of weeks of research into finding the cause of the phantom light. In the end, he replaced the intake manifold gasket and mass air flow sensor. Again, the cost was more than fair. My car, which has 165,000 miles on it is running like its brand new. This is a business you can trust to solve your automotive issues.
