They kept blaming my insurance and my insurance kept saying it was STAR. I had a pinhole radiator hose leak when I took it in (nothing to do with the transmission replace) and when I picked it up the hoses were tore off. I called I'm educated leaving and they said it was due to wear and tear!! Ridiculous. I had to replace all the hoses due to them all being heavily cracked almost to the point where they were barely hanging on. How in the world?!?!? NEVER AGAIN! Do yourself a favor and avoid this business. The reps get ruder with time also. They are experts at giving you the run around as well too.

I repeatedly ask to double check everything the first time and when I came back ... The next day my car was was doing exactly same thing and then all the dashboard ligth came on and also it was choking like if it was out of gas ... to make a long story short they didn't plug the wiring back correctly i let the them seat on the of the engine ... i had to pay to have all that corrected then they left some bolts loose from engine mount ... after I told them to take their time repeatedly to do the job ,they just ignored me. And it was too much ... i really wish I get some of what I expend reimbursed

I went in for a simple oil change, and as usual, they asked if I wanted to replace the air filter and cabin filter. Nothing out of the ordinary--until I left. When I opened my glove box to put away my receipt, I was shocked. It looked like someone had been rummaging through it, as if they were searching for money or something to take. I have photos showing exactly how I found it. I called immediately, and the employee told me, "Well ma'am, sometimes they need to open your glove box to get to the cabin filter." I explained that this isn't the first time they've checked my filters, and never--not once--has my glove box been left in that condition. I felt completely violated. Thankfully, I didn't have anything valuable in there, but this experience has made me lose trust. From now on, I'll make sure to remove anything important before taking my car in for service. Just a warning to others--be cautious. I'm extremely upset.

We took a trip to Laredo and he immediately wanted to wash the road bugs/dirt off our vehicle. He went in to get an oil change for his truck that comes with a car wash, which he upgraded to a basic interior cleaning. He's pretty particular about keeping his car clean and immediately noticed as he was leaving that the tint on his windows was scratched. Trust that he keeps tabs on exactly what his truck looks like, so this was 100% done here. To be fair, I encouraged him to complain and he said there would be no way to prove it was done there as he didn't have before/after pics, so im not sure what actions would have been taken to correct the damage. So he took the L, but i figured I'd warn others who like to keep their things nice that you might end up having to pay for a new tint job.

Shiloh is a business that I trust and depend on when it comes to the care of my vehicles. I've had extensive work done for two Toyota Corollas. One was a full restoration and the finished product was like new and unrecognizable from the day I dropped it off. The second car was involved in a major car accident with structural and frame damage. The insurance adjusters claimed it would be a total loss and Shiloh was able to salvage and restore it to its prior state by welding the frame. To say that the work done here is honest and top level is an understatement. I've known the shop owner for almost 15 years and can testify to his expert knowledge of cars and how to run a first class operation. read more

The most bizarre interaction I've ever had with a mechanic. Came in for a simple repair and the owner rambled for a good half hour about how the Russians are poisoning our grain supplies and that motorcycle gangs are going to take over America after society collapses. He also went on to explain that all professional athletes are thugs and criminals and that guns don't kill people, kids kill people. If you're looking for some wild stories, he's your guy. If your looking for reliable and efficient auto repair, look elsewhere. read more

Great location, great service at competitive prices. I reside in Houston, but when I travel to Laredo I take my car to Shiloh for any work that it might need. I know the work will be done right and they are very honest. I once thought I needed brakes, but they informed that they just needed to be cleaned and adjusted. They could have easily placed new brakes and charged me for something I didn't really need at the time. read more

I have use this shop a number of times and have been completely satisfied every time with the quality of work and with the price that I have had to pay. There has been no other shop that has come close to what these guys do. They will go out of their way to make sure you are completely satisfied with the work that has been done to your vehicle. Because the day before I left my car like at 08:30 and I was told they would be done with visual inspection that same day but I called at 5:30 pm and was told they didn't have time to check it and if I wanted to leave it overnight or pick it up and bring it again in the morning. Not even an apology for not calling me in advanced so I could make plans to get a ride for work the next day. So anyways WATCHOUT again with that front deck don't let them poke your eyes like they did to me. Make sure they tell you straight out how much you're gonna pay. The mechanics did a great job though but I can't say the same about the front desk. Sorry but it is what it is.

Once they finally put the new unit in it was faulty and wouldn't shift from 1st to 2nd gear. After 2 more tries they finally got it to work correctly... Until today. I'm now sitting on the side of the highway at the closest shop I could find. where they informed me the 6 bolts holding the transmission to the transfer case were finger tight. Which the technician said is the fault of the shop that installed it. After calling JR Martinez and politely asking if they would be willing to do anything I got a very short fused woman on the phone. So all this to say, not olny are the mechanics bad, and the parts faulty, but the customer service also sucks! I will not be returning to JR Martinez South!
