I have had the privilege of sending my daughter and son to Shine Preschool. I was first introduced to Shine at the height of the pandemic and Shine followed all protocols to keep our children safe, secure, and well prepared for any scenario that we faced. On top of that, I really appreciate the consistent communication throughout the day on our Brightwheel app. I am always updated on what is happening throughout the school day and I can easily get in contact with my children's teacher. The teachers are well prepared for their monthly/weekly/daily lesson plans. At the top of the month, parents get a preview of the curriculum our children will learn. This allows us to reinforce concepts at home and partner with the teachers and closely monitor our child's progress. Additionally, Shine offers fun extracurricular opportunities such as soccer, karate, chapel and STEM activities. Lastly, it is worth mentioning that I appreciate the level of security of classrooms/building. As a teacher that has taught TK-12th grade in public schools for 10+ years, I can definitely say that I loved sending my children to Shine Preschool and would recommend anyone who is interested in a Christ centered, loving, and intentional environment for their preschool aged child. read more

I decided to enroll my child into preschool/daycare at 2 years old. We had visited 2 other centers and both times, my son had cried and won't let go of me during the tours. I had chalked it up to his personality/mood, but when we toured Shine, he gravitated towards it right away, started playing with the toys (despite having similar toys at the other center) and when asked if he liked the school, he immediately said yes. Miss Karlie answered all my questions during the tour and I felt that it would be a good fit, and I was right. My son didn't even cry on the first day, I expected he would, but he didn't. He loves going to Shine and has been going for 3 months now. He has learned a lot of new songs, and frequently has art to bring home. The place feels secure with locked security doors as well as with the use of the Brightwheel app which is so helpful to communicate with the staff. They respond quickly and it is so convenient - you can even message them on the app to let them know your child will be late or absent that day. They also provide updates throughout the day, including photos - see pics for what the app looks like. Note that in this school, lunch is NOT provided, but I have been able to make easy lunches that my son finishes most of the time. My son loves going to Shine Preschool and always talks about Ms Karlie and Ms Genesis and about going to the playground with friends! Hello update... I took my son out of Shine at the end of October. Keep in mind my son is 2 and an only child. Although Ms. Genesis was such a sweetheart and always so understanding and supportive, I feel like the director was not as understanding and supportive I always expressed that I was doing my best she even gave me a tool to take him and show him good choices and bad choices and I did. When she suggested I take him to his pediatrician to see if he had any "problems" I did and the pediatrician said "he's two what does she expect" when she wanted me to take him to a behavioral analysts and I finally decided that was enough and my son was not a guinea pig things took a turn at school , for everything and anything I would get a note on the app and would have to pick him up and although I am blessed to work along side my husband at his office and have the leniency to take him to the office it became very stressful and took a toll on my mental health because I honestly did believe I was a bad mother! When Ms. Karlee the director called me and my husband to have a meeting to put my "two year old" on a behavior chart and I in tears asked her if their was anything else we could do she said no and have no empathy towards me. Now the head of schools Ms. Alicia never reached out until I did. The director Ms. Rayleen never reached out or responded when I messaged her or left her a voicemail. I do understand that my son was not the easiest but for being there for only three months I feel like they could've tried harder than with him. And I don't know if it's because I was getting a discount for being a church member that they would rather get rid of us and get the full tuition but I don't understand why everything played out the way it did. Now the reason I am raising awareness and in no way trying to bash anyone is because my sister works in children care especially with two year olds and she always expressed how bizarre it was the way they acted towards my son and how they never tried harder or had one on one with him I do understand this is a private school and not a corporation but they should have the meetings and training my sister does so they can understand that my son was not a "bad child" but a growing two year old trying and figuring out his emotions and how to respond and I in no way tolerate biting or hitting on other children but again this was a two year old which means he is barely understanding the world so please consider this review and ask yourself if this school is the best option for your child and his or her needs. Also this school has no cameras we can access like other school this school only publishes what they wish so please take that into consideration. I still have not received a formal apology from Rayleen Tafoya CEO of shine preschool in Anaheim, Ca. over a serious peanut incident that happened with my child under their watch. I have only received excuses and legal threats. 2. If you look at the new photo attached you can see proof of how deceptive these people are and that your wallet is more important then your kid's safety. The co-founder of shine preschool, who is also the husband of Rayleen Tafoya wrote a positive review on his own business listing. You tell me what kind of people do that? 3. I found out the county investigated shine and finds out they where illegally conducting summer camp program using shine's DBA, using volunteers to increase profits and failing to provide proper safety training. My son's attended shine since july 2025 and we love it. Hes made a lot of friends, hes happy to go to school everyday, and the teachers are all very nice. Ms. Gigi is so kind and always lets me know how hes doing or how his day went. They do projects most days and hes always excited to show me what they did. They're also really good about sending pictures through the app so I know what hes up to during the day and have peace of mind. Highly recommend shine wgg! read more

We have had two children attend and flourish because of the care and attention they have received at Shine Preschool. The personal touches and attention to the individual needs of the children is surely felt here. We receive multiple updates and pictures daily through the brightwheel app. I love that I am able to feel a detailed personal connection of what my children are experiencing and participating in through the day. The communication through the app and monthly email updates are detailed in the focus for the day, week and the month along with the snack schedules, and important dates. *For West Grove Campus* I can't begin to say how grateful my family is to have found Shine @ West Grove. We started our daughter at her 2nd birthday and we were terrified for this big transition! After a few tours of different schools in the area, we settled with Shine because the campus was clean, the teachers we met felt comforting and friendly and the Brightwheel app made all the difference in knowing what she's doing all throughout the day. Since day one, the teachers have been a blessing! We immediately felt at ease knowing she was in good hands. We have our two kids enrolled at the West Anaheim location off of Ball/Brookhurst. To say our decision of enrolling in Shine was awesome is an understatement. We have had nothing but positive experiences with the teachers, the staff, and the other parents. Once our younger child was old enough to enroll we couldn't wait for him to experience the preschool. Both kids have developed their social skills, creativity, and confidence. In the last Christmas production I watched with pure pride seeing our 3-year old recite a Bible verse onstage. And all of the kids did an amazing job performing. It was wonderfully organized! What I appreciate most about Shine is the care of the teachers. We are lucky with Ms Gigi and Ms Christal -- they are true gems! Always great on keeping us parents updated and I sincerely appreciate the dedication to the programming that they do each month. My daughter started with Shine (West Grove campus) right after her 2nd birthday. We toured over 10 preschools and none felt like the "right" place...until we found Shine! From the moment we stepped foot onto campus, I knew this was it. After being there for nearly a year, they have definitely met and exceeded my expectations. Shine beats the competition in 3 main areas: 1) Staff - we love the teachers there! Always very welcoming, inclusive, and stern when necessary. 2) Systems - the Brightwheel app makes us feel like we got to spend the day with our child (virtually) through the constant updates and photos we get 3) Facility/Cleanliness - structured classrooms that are nice and tidy We plan to keep our daughter there until she's ready for pre-k and plan to enroll future kiddos! read more

They told other children to stay away from my granddaughter and then she had no friends even though she wanted to try and play with the other children. I love this school for my son ! I wanna say it's seriously the best little school ever and I wish I knew about it earlier. Ms. Rayleen (the owner / director) is a blessing and she truly hired some amazing staff who are all great with my son. I noticed since my son has been attending Shine preschool he has improved in So many ways. His speech, his behavior and his learning Skills. I love how shine preschool offers a lot to make me feel like I'm part of his everyday activities with the brightwheel app that lets you know about lunches, snacks, provided current pictures and it just making me feel like I'm never missing out because I'm a full time single momma that doesn't get the privilege to spend more time during the week with my son, so I feel like I'm not missing out on too much and it goes a long way for me . We toured and researched 8 different daycares/preschool centers in the area, and this was the best one out of all of them. Ms. Kelly was so thorough during the tour. She answered all of our questions, was professional, on time, prepared, and so kind. She provided the best tour out of all the 8 different daycares/preschools we visited. Her enthusiasm towards working with kids showed immediately. Ms. Kelly facilitated for us to also meet Ms. Beth during the tour. Both seemed happy to be working at Shine Preschool Center-Chino. Ms. Kelly was the reason for us deciding on this preschool. Ms. Beth was also the most caring and qualified teacher (BA from Cal Poly!) we met from all the other 8 different daycares/preschools. This day and time it is crazy expensive and so scary to find someone trust worthy to take care of your little one! I'm a full time nurse with no help from others to be able to pick up our son. This school has a huge drop off slot from 7am to 6pm for full time parents which is extremely difficult to find even with daycares!!!! Also that time frame comes with the tuition not like other places you can leave them 8 hours and pay for the extra time on top of your tuition. I looked at my fair share of preschools and daycares before I found Shine and it has exceeded my expectations to what I couldn't have imagined could provide for my son. My son has had real difficulties adjusting with his attitude of a year solitude that I'm sure most kids his age just went through and the accommodations Shine has made for him and continue to make for him show me and him how loved he is but everyone involved in his learning plan. I genuinely thank God for Rayleen (the director) creating this new environment for our kids to learn, be safe, and thrive with whole-hearted intentions. I love the Chino campus! The teachers are wonderful! My daughter had been attending since the age of 2 and she loves school! She will be 4 this year and will be attending until kindergarten. I Love the fact that my boys Love it and are comfortable and I'm worry free when I go to work ! My daughter has been coming to this campus (East Anaheim) for about 5 months. The care and compassion that the director Rayleen and my daughters teachers Ms. Caitlyn & Ms. Jessica have are more than I could have ever asked for in a preschool. It was important to me to find a faith based education, with teachers whom I felt a connection or comfortable with. I am able to work and receive updates/pictures of the fun she is having. Any parent looking to send their child to preschool should put Shine on their tour list. The 5 reasons why I love this preschool are: 1. Teachers. They are the foundation there. Everyone is easy to talk to and always willing to provide that extra feedback on your child's day. 2. Activities. Be prepared to bring home weekly treasures of personalized art from your kiddos. Many are very creative pieces for displaying and safekeeping. I can't get enough. 3. Technology. The school uses a central app to sign in and out, communicate with teachers and pay monthly tuition. I love that we can see daily pictures or random events that our child is participating in throughout the day. I will miss this the most when they go to public school. 4. Continuous learning and Improvements. They are always changing processes to be more efficient or improving safety on campus. Feedback from parents and teachers is always welcomed. This is important as no school is perfect but this one is pretty exceptional. 5. Community. The school host quite a few events a year that do need parents to participate. I was searching for a good preschool around my neighborhood and stumbled upon Shine Preschool. After meeting with the staff and touring the school, I knew I found the ONE! It was like finding a hidden gem. Literally and figuratively. They also have Bible time! I love everything about the school especially the app they use to update during the day. 10 out of 5 stars if I could! I sent all three of my children here. The staff and director are God sent gifts to the world! They are so loving, caring, and enriching to my little ones and at a reasonable price. I have so much piece of mind. Shine uses bright-wheel app and I receive multiple updates and pictures of my little ones through out the day.... And I can message back and forth so easily! School is open from 7am-6pm, so I can work late a few days if I need to. My kids love it here! They learned how to be kind to other kids, faith in Jesus Christ, Bible stories and song, so much arts and crafts, the solar system and rockets, and preparation for Kindergarten and beyond! There are so many cool enrichment activities and class lessons are adjusted to the child's pace. One of my sons got extra activities because he did everything so quickly. It's all about keeping the kids engaged at Shine. Thank you to Shine Preschool for such a great place for any children 2-5 years old. They even change diapers and help potty train! Both of our sons attend Shine Preschool Center in Chino. Our oldest attended last year and we just brought our younger one this year to make the transition to school easier. I just want to say that my boys have grown so much attending this school. Both Ms. Kelly and Ms. Beth have had such a huge impact on our kids and we know that they are most importantly safe at this school and well taken care of. The rest of the staff/administration have also been so helpful and supportive in the boys' learning experience and we truly trust them in taking care of them. I also wanted to add that the app that they use to communicate with the parents of what the boys are doing, including pictures and videos, the ease of the chat feature and convenience of the tuition payments, have been a huge reason as to why we chose this school for our kids as well. Simply stated, we love Shine Preschool. Due to Covid 19, we were suddenly forced to look for a new daycare for our little one. After searching online for several days and calling several centers, I visited Shine Preschool and was provided with an in depth tour by Ms. Rayleen. The center was very clean, well organized, and inviting to both adults and children. There is a great playground for the children outside with ample activities and play equipment. Once we did enroll our little one, the staff went out of their way to support our little one with the transition. There were a few tears and rough patches but the Shine staff supported our little one in a loving and caring manner. Fast forward a year, and our little one loves Shine. She looks forward to singing and dancing with her friends. She loves learning with her teachers and being exposed to fun educational activities. But her favorite is water days during the summer. We love the open communication with Ms. Rayleen and staff that helps identify any issues early on and collaborate as a team to address them. We were truly blessed to find Shine and appreciate everything it has done to foster the development of our little one. read more
