I went to this collision shop at the request of the other driver involved in a minor fender bender to obtain an estimate. From the moment I arrived, the person assisting me was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. I felt uncomfortable and unwelcome throughout the interaction. Rather than providing professional customer service, I was treated with hostility for simply seeking an estimate. A business that relies on customers should know how to communicate respectfully. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this shop and would suggest taking your business elsewhere. My 2018 Hyundai Elantra had a Peeling paint issue. So, through Hyundai warranty I was to have my car paint removed and repainted. When I received my car back at the local dealership from shining star collision, Auto Body, there were multiple issues with the paint job that shining star collision was paid in full for. The hood had over 20 areas of fisheye. They failed to paint the area areas around the back windshield. My front fender to This day has never been addressed or painted under the warranty as directed but shining star did receive payment for this. The roof was never tended to properly, and they tried to dab a little paint on, and they got paint all over the rubber around the windshield. The whole piece above the door that goes back to the back fender was never stripped and repainted . The issues are endless and now Hyundai motor company will not support the claim. It will not allow me to have my car repainted properly and blended in properly so I have one color and shade of white paint on my car. Shining star collision, took it upon themselves to dab a little paint over the peeling paint issue. They took the car back a second time in order to fix and repair what they had messed up in the first place. Shining star collision was paid in full by Hyundai motor company to fulfill the warranty on the peeling paint issue. Peeling pint is a known defect in Hyundai cars. I get my car back to second time they replace my front windshield of my back windshield, claiming that both of them broke up on Removal. I asked her original paperwork. It was never furnish the original paperwork. I was given an hand written estimate by shining star collision that had some numbers crossed out. Stay far away from this horrible collision place. Unfortunately, shining star collision has several shops around the island and Hyundai does use the shops to deal with their known defective pain issues. Be warned. This collision shop only takes jobs from dealerships. I would say that their business practice is pretty shoddy at best. My car has four different shades of white on it since it was never blended correctly by shining star. Not either one or two times that shining star collision did have my vehicle. They take zero pride in their work. It does appear that they fortunately collecting money for job they at best half way attempted. I have had other windshield removed and replaced in my driveway with no issue but somehow they were able to break the front and the back during this whole fiasco. Due to shining star collision not opening up and fixing their actual work. I am now at a loss and I'm driving around in a car that has multiple shades of white and nobody from shining star collision was able to prove to me that my front and back windshield are OEM. Shining star is in possession of my car early of 2023. You'll see attached to this review I left a a photo from the summer of 2023. A current photo at time of posting. So, I just picked up my car from this shop. They had the car for quite a while. I understand that it takes a little bit for the adjuster to come out. (Geico is quick with that) They had the car close three weeks and when it picking up I noticed that a few things didn't line up. So one of the guys came out and I showed him and he took it back in. And I went back home. Went back and the hood still does not line up. Plus they replace a piece with a part that does not take into consideration the driving lights. It's my call because I chose them based on the reviews I read. Never again. (Oh, by the way, there was extra job that I talked to one of guys about but didn't authorize. They did it anyway. It's okay because that came out good). Should have taken it to MINI. Still waiting for an outline of what was done the receptionist said she would email me Monday. read more

My brand new 2014 car was hit while it was parked. I went to Toyota and they referred me here. I pulled into the parking lot and was greeted outside by someone. Brought into Karen who helped me through the whole process of making a claim through my insurance. Then because my insurance didn't cover car rental they put a rush on the order and my car was ready in a week! I was so impressed by the speed they fixed my car. I honestly wasn't expecting to have my car back for at least two weeks. They did a fantastic job and turned my brand new car into a brand new car again! Horrible body shop I will never let them touch my car again. And for that matter Atlantic Hyundai dealership. Purchased my car brand new with some body damage that they swore up and down they would be fixed to perfection, set up the appointment got the car back a week later and the shining Star idiots missed not one but two spots and they destroyed a $500 key fob. So I had to send the car back to this shit shop, get a new key fob from the dealership have it programmed only to find out that Shining Star shitheads missed the same spot again. At this point I purchased touch up paint from a different dealership and had my car wrapped with Xpel paint protection by a real professional shop (BIG HUGE thanks to Shinetek Auto Spa Medford), they also filled in all the chips that the Shining Star idiots never fixed. I was rear-ended 40 miles away from home and because my car is 12 years old, my insurance company deemed it totaled (although the damage was limited to just the back door, which included a fractured brake light). As Shining Star is affiliated with the local Honda dealership, my car was towed there. I soon found out how lucky I was to have found this company; John, the owner, called around to various acquaintances and was able to find a replacement door for my car. He completed the job for less than what I received in compensation from my insurance company. My car's back door looks brand-new! (And he clearly vacuumed the inside of my car because it was not this clean before the accident). Finally, he finished the repairs a week earlier than he had initially predicted. Although not the ideal situation initially, I am so grateful to John, Karen, and the rest of the employees at Shining Star. Thank you! read more
