Sad to post but I will most likely not return. I asked for a full set acrylic. I got talked into a full set dip This was done Friday October 10. It is not Monday October 27 and three nails have broken. I unfortunately couldn't remember why I didn't like dip when I was doing long nails but this is why. First nail broke the Tuesday following and second and third just today. I also got a pedicure in which the nails chipped on day 3 after getting them done. I went back and they fixed those for me but 2 days later they chipped again. It breaks my heart I have gone here for the past 4 years and just don't feel like the quality is the same. Mary did me dirty. I asked for a gel French manicure. First off she didn't push back my cuticles or trim them. She did a poor job shaping my nails, the shape is not consistent and each nail has a different shape. It has been a few days and the gel IS CHIPPING OFF. She did such a bad job applying the gel it's coming off. Not worth the money, will not be coming back. read more

Was here with my mom yesterday and it was an interesting experience. Very hard to give more than 2 stars for my own experience, but my mom definitely got a 5 star experience! So that is what I'm mostly what the 3 stars are for. We both got the same pedicure. Gel nail polish, foot scrub, and a 30 minute message. My moms nail tech was amazing, she got a great foot scrub, took time on her nails, and got a great message and a smile. My nail Tech dipped my feet in the water, panted my nails and then slapped some lotion on my legs, wiped it off and that was it. You would have thought my mom and I bought 2 different services completely. It was just very disappointing. read more

Be careful who you see here, or only see someone with good reviews. I came once and had a great experience. Today, while my nails technically look great, it was awful. I had an appointment and waited 15 minutes after the time. Not a big deal. The woman who runs the place found out what I needed and got me started. Then she switched me off to a man (Eric, I believe) and didn't seem to communicate what I wanted. I clarified with him but he seemed annoyed with me from the beginning. Not sure why, but I should have followed my gut and asked for someone else. He kept bending each of my fingers as he worked on each nail, like he didn't like how I was bending it? It was weird. Never experienced that. And I asked for clear... But he put pink. Y'all, I'm brown. I'm a person of color. Why put pink on someone who asked for clear??? It doesn't look natural. But it's dip, so I trusted he knew what he was doing and by the time it was done... It was pink. It doesn't look bad in the photos (and my nails are shaped great), but the color isn't what I asked for, and when you come to a nail salon, that's part of what you're paying for. The color. So don't go to Eric if you expect to get exactly what YOU asked for, unless you're prepared to pay close attention to his work, and also deal with him constantly re-bending your fingers. I have been to this salon multiple times because it is in my neighborhood. I went in to this walk in nail salon at 5pm. I was told that it was too late to get a fill in and a pedicure. Another day, i went in after work at 5:45 pm to get a fill and they said no they are about to close. The sign says they close at 7pm. I have tried to get in several more times after work between 5:30-6pm and they said that they couldn't take me. The owner and most of the workers are very rude. When I go into the nail salon, I said hello and the workers started speaking in their language to another worker and then looked at me and said,"what's up!" I asked if I get my mail done and they said no we can't take you. We will close soon. It was 6:15 and the sun says that they close at 7pm. I don't appreciate being treated like this especially when I am spending good money in a place. These people appear to be racist. I don't know what else to think. read more

I've been going here for years as I've lived in the area for 18 years. I admittedly was confused on the cost of a service so I called to verify, and while the worker explained the cost to me and I told her I understood I let her know that at the end of the day, if somebody orders a particular service, the whole thing should be completed. I had ordered a pedicure that should've included a sugar scrub and that was not performed and I didn't realize it until I left. When I called back to let them know, the woman is telling me that the manager is out of the country and I need to come back tomorrow. Of course Murphy's Law I am getting on a plane to leave for seven days and I don't have the time to go and so I asked her to relay the information to a manager and she basically told me no and she's busy and hung up on me. read more

My favorite nail salon in north Phoenix! They are very friendly and efficient. They do good work and use good products. I'm always concerned about the cleanliness of nails salons and this one is pristine, they use the plastic tub fillers vs just washing it. They also do waxing so I always get a pedi and brow wax. This is my heel one day after my $75 pedicure!! My heel is cracked and bleeding and so sore I can't wear shoes. And doesn't it look sandal pretty!!!!! Stay away! When I called to ask what cost $75 after I saw my credit card statement I was told this was for the extra chair massage and paraffin. The one I picked was $45 and yes I upgraded to a gel polish but what good is it if I can't walk!!! Stay away!! So I waited a week and they're still cracked wide open and painful. I went to the owner and asked for a refund and she refused. She said the girl had spent all that time on me and it would take away from her money. I even tried to settle for $30 back and she still refused. She insisted on telling me my heels HAD to be so dry that they cracked during callus removal. He was very rude from the beginning and was trying to charge me $90 for a fill and was acting like I couldn't pay for it. He ruined my nails and every time I spoke up he would just act like it's my fault and even the lady next to me tried to speak to him since I'm younger. I ended up just walking out crying in the middle of my appointment because all my nails were different shapes and the owner tried to speak too me but I wasn't having it this place is really shitty with bad workers and bad management. My hair was getting caught in them! I went back and they claim it was normal wear and tear. Manager actually got loud. Now I know why they don't have too many customers! Went in today and got dips done. Saw Vy, she did a good job. I am super sensitive to the drill but she went slow and didn't rush like other places do. The color didn't match but I said something and they immediately got someone else to fix it with a gel top. Now matched perfectly. Not their fault, it's the manufacturer of the samples. First time at shiny nails and it was a horrible experience. I got a full set done by Amy all the way in the back left corner. She was very rough and I was in pain pretty much the entire time. She cut me 5 times and make me bleed and throughout the entire process I was uncomfortable and my fingers were throbbing. She was very nice but I'm sorry that's unacceptable. They won't wow you with their decor or superb customer service BUT I really really like ruby who gave me a gel mani. She was soft spoken but pleasant and make some conversation with me but not too much to where I had to guess at everything she was saying. She also was very gentle on my hands and that says a lot because I always get cut when I try a new nail salon. My gel mani was $30 and turned out pretty great! The hand massage she gave was one of the worst, but I've never really found someone who gives a decent one. Your Client Should NEVER be in Pain!!! I had Amy, I simply wanted my acrylics removed and to do so, she used another acrylic extension plastic piece to pry it from my nail (and proceeded to keep that piece from what I could tell, so another client may receive that acrylic extension which is extremely unsanitary). It was painful and I winced, she pulled it from my nail and laughed at me and called me "sensitive". After that I told her I didn't want them removed like that and she used acetone and a file. While I'm satisfied with the results of the acrylic nails she removed appropriately, there never should be a time your client is in pain. Everyone else in the store was kind, but the comment Amy made was unprofessional and her practice was rushed. I still tipped because I understand the struggle during the pandemic but I will simply not be returning. read more

He has ingrown toe nails that NO ONE has been able to get them under control except Kathy or Kim. Kelly is amazing at everything especially my wonderful eyelashes. When ever I need a quick fix or a pedicure they go out of their way to accommodate me or my husband. They have an exceptional clean location and follow all State Board requirements. I have given this place three tries. Mainly because I'm bad at booking appointments and this is the only place that's never swarming with customers. They charge different amounts each time I've been. I wasn't charged for the length of my nails 2 weeks ago but today I was charged $8 more because I didn't want them filed down from the length I got two weeks ago. I have also felt judged every time I have walked in there. Always because I like my nails long. Another time I had gotten dressed up to treat myself to a day out, had biker shorts on with a dress but they apparently thought my dress was too short and didn't realize I had biker shorts on and gave me a towel to cover up while plenty of women had shorts shorter than my dress on. I also got a pedicure. A higher level than a basic one which was supposed to last approx 35 min with an extra callous scrub. Well the lady spent 20 min on me, slapped a pound of lotion on each leg and called it a day. This place is absolute trash and has led me to make the life altering decision of setting aside time in my day every two weeks to book with an actual nail salon because I'll never come back here again. Unfortunately I won't be posting my crusty feet for everyone to see the horrible job they did because I can use the pics to make my money back that I wasted on this place. read more

I went into shiny nails yesterday and got an acrylic full set. I was very unsatisfied with the customer service and the quality of my nails. They guy who was doing my nails disregarded anything I said with the design I wanted and ended up being extremely rough with my hands. The nail polish work was extremely horrific, with some of the French tip not going to the side, or the nails not even matching up. Some of them faded because he tried to cut out the French too with acetone. He never used a base color before applying the French tip either. And cut my finger with a file. He charged me 60 dollars and when I went to pay with cash he tried taking the cash for himself and getting me to pay the full 60 with my card. And this took a few minutes for him to just take the 50 cash and the rest card payment because he wanted a tip. Overall never coming here again, it's over priced, some of the people are just rough, and they are all looking to up charges you for anything. read more

Never thought I'd write a review on getting a pedicure as a walk in appointment. My technician's name was Rose. Everyone has something weird with their feet; be it that one toe nail that is inherited from a parent that looks like a frito chip or cracks in one heal that look like the Grand Canyon. And when you check out a new place in a new state after moving for a new job, you get a bit scared of a stranger messing with or hurting your feet. How did Rose know instinctively which toe was the one that hurt and needed to be filed gently? Or that she still had to keep going on smoothing that heel down with that cheese grater thing to get the skin looking like skin again? I am 51 years old and I was blown away about how great this woman and this pedicure was. And it was cheap so I gave her a very good tip. Best pedicure I have ever had. No lie. read more
