Our dog ended up with 14 stitches in his face and is wearing a cone -- for 10 days to two weeks. I had no idea we had an Urgent care for animals I looked online and the prices were very reasonable for a vet. We took our baby there last night. We got right in, no appt needed. Front desk staff both were super nice and friendly, they got out Addie all checked in and put us in a room. We were in the room only a few minutes before the Dr came in (Dr. Suzanne Caruso, DVM). She was so Gental as out Addie is such a queen (drama queen too, lol). She liked her over and then took her back to do a deeper exam with her techs. (Just like human kids, they do better without parents around). In a short wait she came back to talk to us about her diagnosis. Dr Caruso's diagnosis was arthritis which I was relieved, she did not feel we needed x-rays but did leave it up to us. I loved that they just did not do them and it cost us more if she felt they were not really needed. She recommended a monthly injection and we can come there to get it for Ms Addie. The overall moment coming in the door to going out the door I could tell they all cared about doing what was best for our little queen Addie

Within a minute of being taken back to a room Dr Stout was in there taking a look at my dog. My dog, a 10 year old lab had a big ol lump that Dr Stout aspirated and tested immediately. The lump was cancerous, and so we got sent home with steroids and an appointment to have it removed. That cost $150 (including the pathology for the aspiration). The surgery, which happened two days ago, included removing two additional lumps and getting them sent off for testing. That was less than $600! Every time I've paid for something here, I've been surprised at how little they charged compared to other clinics. It's genuinely a life saver in these times. You can tell these folks just care about the wellbeing of the animals they serve. I can't say enough good stuff about this clinic, seriously.

A week before the appointment Cassandra called me and asked to change the appointment to the next day. I had no problem with the date change, and we went over the procedure again and the cost. Once again, it was $160 which did not include extractions or meds. During this conversation I was told to fill out the forms on-line and if I needed help to call. As it happens I needed help with the forms so I called Blue Starr. This time it was Rachel who answered the phone and I asked her a question. She didn't have an answer and said she needed to ask someone else. Rachel had thought she had put me on hold but she didn't. As I listened on the phone I can hear her mocking and making fun of me for needing help. After listening to this I said "I can hear you" and immediately I was put on hold. Ashley came back on the line and apologize for her co-worker. I was very upset and couldn't understand why someone would act that way. Extremely unprofessional. I talked to Cassandra about this and she helped me get the forms submitted. She then emailed me a price sheet. However, on the price the cleaning price had jumped to $220, so I called emmediately. Cassandra explain due to inflation the prices have gone up which I understand, but they needed to honor their original quote. At first she said she will talk to the Vet and than she said she will make the decision to honor what I was first quoted. The day after the procedures I look at the bill which was over $1100, and noticed they didn't honor the original quote for the cleanings. I called and talked to Cassandra. Funny that now she doesn't remember having any conversations with me and basically told me I was lying. THREE times I went over the price and now she just happens to lose her memory. She put the vet on and I had to explain that the only charge I am questioning is for the cleaning. I was quoted $160 three separate times and she thinks I misunderstood? Ludicrous! First, I endure a nasty employee and now they refuse to honor what they quoted me THREE times! They have now lost another customer for all of the GRAND TOTAL of $30. I have had animals all my life and have never come across a vets office this disorganize, nor have I ever been treated with such disrespect. Anyone who still decides to go to Blue Starr make sure you record everything and I do mean everything to protect yourself.
