    My puppy, Scout, at TAUC!

Dr. Bixler is AMAZING! She was extremely helpful with my puppy who contracted kennel cough that turned into pneumonia. Her knowledge and skill made me feel like my puppy was in safe hands while she was very very sick. I went to TAUC 7 (SEVEN) times!!! They were more than generous when it came to billing (often not charging me for ultrasounds or visits when I had already paid for multiple of them, which saved me a lot of money considering how much it costs to treat pneumonia). They made sure I was informed and walked me through treatment options. I cannot thank them enough and I will never stop recommending them. Dr. Bixler saved my puppy, Scout, and gave me more comfort than she knew.

We received fast affordable care that saved my puppy's life. I will definitely use this clinic for my future vet needs.

You have to buzz to get security to let you in, which is kind of off putting right from the start. And the first question they ask is if your pet could have ingested weed, which is I'm sure way too common. The nurse and vet were very kind and fairly quick, but before they even come in, they bring a credit card machine in for payment. I guess I understand that's the awful world we live in now, but it sure doesn't sit well when your pet is sitting on the table in pain but nothing an be done until payment is made. But once we started the process, they bounced in and out with diagnosis, suggestions for treatment, and itemized statements showing the extreme rising costs of the visit. The vet was very thorough and detailed in explanation, but we ultimately decided to take our dog home and to our local vet Monday morning, who basically disagreed with the diagnosis we received and went with a separate treatment plan. So around $1000 later, we at least had piece of mind that it wasn't life threatening. But ouch. I would definitely try a different emergency clinic next time.

She listened to our concerns and even watched a small video we took of our dog. She was concerned and recommended we get an X-ray if we wanted. She was not pushy. She just said we need peace of mind that it's not something else. She was right. Our little guy had bladder stones and one stuck in his urethrae. She called in the surgeon, Dr. Don Schmidt. He rearranged his schedule and got our boy straight in for surgery. We didn't have to take him someplace else or wait another day. That was so nice. He had his appointment at 2pm then surgery shortly afterwards and we had him in our arms by 6:30. I'm so impressed with them. Also, we asked for a refill from a previous vet on some anxiety medicine for him. Dr. Baker was like, no problem. She told us to order it through Chewy since they didn't have it in stock and we needed it quickly for the fireworks coming in a few days. She said she would take care of it on her end and give authorization to Chewy when they called. The only thing I was kind of disappointed about was the tension at the front desk when we checked out. There could have been better customer service there. But overall we were happy with the service and the amount of care from the vets. Update: When we got home a few hours later, our dog was wincing in pain. We gave him some of the meds the doctor gave us but he still winced terribly. We had to take him to the ER and leave him overnight to get a slow drip of pain meds. Update -2 weeks later- Midnight is doing so well. He seems like he has gotten two years knocked off his age. He's getting around like a spring chicken. We went back to get stitches out and the staff was excellent. The front desk staff took time to talk to me about my dogs, and Dr. Baker met with me and discussed what we need to do for Midnight going forward. She wrote it all down for me so I could look over my options. I am very pleased and will return.

They told me that without the care he would die and there was a good chance it would die with the care. I told them we would probably take the puppy home. That I needed time to think about it. They told me $300 was for blood work. I asked them to ask the Vet about a cheaper Charcoal treatment. They said they would ask the Vet. As I waited for them to respond I decided to check on my puppy. What I found was that they had started the more expensive treatment (with bloodwork) and gotten my son in law to finance it with an outside company. This is a clear violation of Oklahoma Administrative Code § 775:10-5-30. They went behind my back as the actual owner to do the more expensive treatment. They also charged us for the blood work even though I had refused it. I was also told that they were closing and I would need to bring the puppy to another vet and that bill could cost me $2,000 to $3.000. Once again they said that without the treatment he would die. I asked them why they did not tell me this when I brought the puppy in and they would not answer. If your going to take your animal here be aware that you will get adequate care but This company is profit driven and will use unethical sales tactics to maximize their profit.
