You have to buzz to get security to let you in, which is kind of off putting right from the start. And the first question they ask is if your pet could have ingested weed, which is I'm sure way too common. The nurse and vet were very kind and fairly quick, but before they even come in, they bring a credit card machine in for payment. I guess I understand that's the awful world we live in now, but it sure doesn't sit well when your pet is sitting on the table in pain but nothing an be done until payment is made. But once we started the process, they bounced in and out with diagnosis, suggestions for treatment, and itemized statements showing the extreme rising costs of the visit. The vet was very thorough and detailed in explanation, but we ultimately decided to take our dog home and to our local vet Monday morning, who basically disagreed with the diagnosis we received and went with a separate treatment plan. So around $1000 later, we at least had piece of mind that it wasn't life threatening. But ouch. I would definitely try a different emergency clinic next time.

We have seen several doctors/techs/front desk staff on both the emergency and surgical side and everyone has been wonderful every time. The front desk staff are always kind, welcoming, and helpful. The technicians are very friendly and are always so sweet to our puppy. The doctors are very knowledgeable and order appropriate imaging/testing without performing tests or procedures that aren't necessary. We have loved every doctor we have had here and I would trust OVS with any of my pets. Since the majority of negative reviews are regarding pricing and wait times - it should be expected that an emergency/surgical based clinic will have higher prices and longer wait times than a primary care veterinarian. You are paying/waiting for specialized/emergency/surgical care. They do have financing options available as well. In short: don't let their online ratings deter you from bringing your pets to OVS. They have excellent staff and doctors! I whole-heartedly trust them with my pets and would recommend them to anyone. Thank you OVS for taking such great care of our boy!

Mr. Charlie decided it was a trip to the ER in this miserable heat yesterday, after dinner last…read morenight. So, after the hubby got home from work, and we had a quick dinner, we were on the road to the emergency vet. Charlie had been yacking(for lack of a better term) in the afternoon in the hallway near our bedroom(putting me on back cleam up detail). And after one of his yacks have a Pink tinge to it, that was it and a trip to the vet. Once we got there and checked in, they came out and got him for vitals, then put us in a room, where we waited(Thankfully we know where the coffee is there). After a bit a member of the team who tracks history and relays info back to the dr(who was in surgery with another patient) came in and got more info from us. While we waited we watched a bit of TV and played on our phones. After a bit of that, then the coffee started. After about our second cup for the evening/early morning, the dr came in and we discussed what was going on with Charlie. She said basically, he came back with a clean bill of health, and it was stumping her what was going on. They did some xray, gave him a anti-nausea shot, and sent home meds with us. She said if he pukes through the meds given, then back to the ER he would come. But, she also recommended an internest within their group that specializes with feline internal medicine to follow up with, if the episodes were to continue. After having that discussion and the discussion of what to do at home, we finally were released about 1 am(we had gone in around 7 pm), and got home about 2 am. We are eternally grateful for the staff and Dr's on shift, thst helped us with our senior furbaby. It made for a smooth visit. Thank you Dr.Vingeron(Dr V- hopefully i spelled the ladt name correctly, my apologies if not.) for taking the time to explain things where we could understand things during the goofy hour of the day(after midnight). But if your furbaby is in distress, this is the staff to go see. Thanks again.

I love his blend of wedge head and applehead genetics to create a balanced head shape. He's perfectly healthy, barely sheds at all, is minimally vocal, and likes to snuggle with everyone in the household - human and dog alike. I love watching him play as well as having him contentedly sit in my lap. I'm looking forward to cherishing him for many years to come. He feels like my youngest son now. Debbie evidently does a wonderful job of socializing her kittens. UPDATE: A few months later, we adopted a second kitten from Merveilleux - a breathtakingly beautiful and sweet smoke blue lynx point girl whom we named Calypso due to her captivating face with big blue eyes. Our kittens are half siblings and love each other to pieces. I highly recommend adopting two at once to avoid "Single Kitten Syndrome" (look it up) and to give them more fulfilling lives by providing a playmate and cuddle-mate. If you're concerned about avoiding scammers, you can look up Merveilleux on the TICA website using a backdoor method, since they don't list every registered cattery publicly. Sign up to "register a cattery" and then check previously used names. Merveilleux does show up, which reassured me that they're legitimate and reputable. On allergies: Debbie informed me that they initially test their breeding cats for Fel D1 levels. Sure enough, I have nonexistent allergies with my Balinese kitten, whereas, normally, I get asthma, headaches, and lightheadedness, including around the hairless sphynx I had years ago. He can even sleep close to my face with his incredibly silky fur, but it's as though there's no cat here as far as my immune system is concerned. I'm so happy after having been catless for years!! Like others whose reviews I've read, I had a very minor reaction on the first day, but that disappeared completely after the first time he used his litterbox for #2 that night, perhaps expelling any temporary excess Fel D proteins from having being around multiple littermates. Or perhaps that happens because one's immune system notices the change of suddenly having potential allergens around but then realizes that it's not nearly enough to be a threat and stops fighting altogether. I was thinking about trying oral immunotherapy drops if my cat allergy continued to be a problem, but I have zero need. Debbie is an excellent cat breeder and overall great person to connect with! She got to know me and my family's interests, provided kitten options in accordance to my hair length preferences (medium), reassured me about allergy issues, explained the types of Balinese cats based on head shape, and gave me photos and info on my kitten of choice's parents. She did a video call with me to further show two brothers from which I was choosing. She was also great about working with the airline nanny and thoughtfully preparing the kitten for his trip. It shows that she really cares. If we decide to adopt another Balinese, I wouldn't go with any other cattery besides Merveilleux!

The employee stood in the back until it was after time and turned me away. I was very unsatisfied and very surprised by the poor 'customer service'. There are multiple self serve dog wash businesses in the area. I will start using one of the businesses that I typically pass on the way to SDW.

I apologize for taking so long to leave this review. I'm sorry for any pet that has unnecessarily…read moredied in the interim. We moved to Tulsa in December '23, with a 6 year old, Czech import German Shepherd that we'd had for a few months. She had been used for breeding, required a C-section, and was no longer useful to the breeder. As a rescue, the breeder was familiar with us (we own her daughter), so he contacted us and surrendered her to us. We had her thoroughly vetted when she arrived in Oklahoma. After a few weeks in our home we contacted our trainer and got her into training as soon as possible. She was sweet and a good member of our pack, but largely unsocialized. When we brought her home it was time to address the last step in preparing her for her new life in our home, having her spayed. We made an appointment with Dr Thomas. After anesthetizing her the doctor tried to call us to tell us that she had a spay scar. When we called him back we discussed the c-section scar and decided to wait a week or so and start over. When we picked her up we found that while he had her anesthetized, he decided to perform surgery on her eyelid for some small defect I had not even noticed and we had not approved. I wish I had seen the red flag. Two weeks later we dropped her off to be spayed. We called to see if she was ready to be picked up and were told to wait until five. I walked over to pick her up a little before five and immediately noticed that she looked unstable. Her gums were pale and I asked if I should run her to Oklahoma Veterinary Specialists. Dr Thomas said no, took her back into his office and started IV fluids. After wasting what turned out to be the last 30 minutes I had to save her, he sent us home with a vet tech carrying the IV bag. I helped the still unstable dog. When we got to the door the vet tech gave me the IV bag and we've never heard from them again. After observing her for a couple of minutes I put her in the car and raced to OVS, calling to let them know the situation and that we were headed their way. Dr Hodges, who has helped us many times in emergencies, stayed and waited for us, rushing us in when we arrived. He worked on her for another 30 minutes. She coded twice and was unable to be revived a second time. She died of blood loss from internal bleeding. Dr.Thomas or his office never called to see how she was. We filed a complaint with the State Board. Imagine the State Board of Veterinary Medicine being unresponsive in the State of Oklahoma. Would you expect anything else? If you love your pet, stay away from Dr Chet Thomas and City Veterinary Hospital at 36th and Peoria. I wish we had. We obviously live close by and every time I see that building I feel sad and angry all over again.
