I'm surprised that this place is 3 stars. My husband, son and I came here on a Friday night because it was close to our hotel. My expectations were low based on the ratings. However, we ended up having a great meal. I got the tomato soup and bread, and my hubby got Joe's special (or some similar name; it was pretty much like a Philly Cheesesteak). I was obsessed with the soup. It was flavorful, without being rich. My husband was happy with his sandwich, and very impressed with the sweet potato fries. The only downfall is the price of the cocktails. We paid $14 for each drink...and the drinks weren't anything to write home about. All in all, a solid 4 star. We'll be returning later this week. read more

We came in on A Sunday late afternoon while skiing at Sunday River. There were a couple of open tables. The hostess asked us to come back in 20 minutes because they were at capacity which we did with no issue. When we returned our hostess was quite rude and seemed overwhelmed and annoyed that we had come back. We were seated at a table and our server did not come over for at least 25 minutes. It took another 10 minutes to get our drinks, they missed our waters (which we asked for). The server did not ask us what we wanted for food. It appeared only one server was working. Eventually after trying to flag her down for fifteen more minutes she took our order. Our waitress barely paid attention to us. After we ate I left with my friend and our girlfriends stayed for drinks while we skied. They asked to go to the bar at which point the hostess told them to wait at the table for someone to come over and bring them to the bar. That never happened and they asked again at which point the hostess told them they had to leave because they were at the table past their time limit. They told her they were waiting to go to the bar and eventually were moved there. The service was even slower from there on. It overall seemed like they didn't want us there and didn't want to serve us. We spent a good amount of money and were respectful of the rules but the staff was rude and almost completely ignored us. It's disappointing because I have been coming here multiple times a year since I was a kid. Today was possibly the worst service I have ever experienced at a restaurant. read more

Amazing food, amazing staff, amazing leadership! I called shipyard a few hours before a group of 70 of us were headed in. They made so many accommodations for us- and were so friendly and kind. Went to Shipyard Brew Haus to pick up my take out order, once I got home I opened my order and disappointed is an understatement. I ordered a pot pie and I come home and this is what I get, a soup, and a piece of bread in multiple pieces with no silverware. The bread is dry, and crumples at the touch, the soup cold and clearly not a pie. Regardless of how bad the food was when I picked up my order I was blatantly ignored my two workers before I was finally helped.Will Never waste my business at this establishment again and recommend you do not waste your time or money read more

Overpriced burgers. Server was a very nice person but the burger was not clearly priced and the add ons were a bit ridiculous.

I love Shipyard lager. Yet they didn't have it on tap. Oh well, how about Old Thumper? Out of that too. Our third choice was good, but still, what's the point of calling it Shipyard if you can't keep your flagship brew in stock? I planned on Apre Ski all four days of our trip but after that disappointing first day we just got in the car and headed to Mattterhorn. read more

This is the worst restraint I have ever been to we were skiing with friends and we orders first and we got it after 45 min of waiting and all our friends had already gone and also our moms pork taco was soggy and fell apart. Over all do not go to this restaurant. read more

My favorite place in Sunday RIver. The veggie chili is awesome and comes w the best chips. I can vouch for the nachos and my crew loves the burgers and regular chili too. The vibe is fun and they have a great beer selection too. It's a cant miss. Only suggestion is to head in for much before noon or hit them for dinner to avoid the wait. read more

We were there on monday... I think it was Febuary 18th. After a horrible experience with bad ski conditions and unfriendly people at sunday river, it was so nice to walk in the the brew haus. Everyone greeted us and we sat at the bar. Janel was awesome!! She reccomended drinks for us and we loved them. We ordred a couple apps, cherry jalepeno poppers and some french onion soup. Both hit the spot and came out quickly. The service was great and to top it all off.... Just as I realized I forgot my phone...Janel came running out in the freezing cold to bring me it! New management. Kitchen was very slow for lunch. Waiting 40 minutes and still no food. No idea how food is but I'll think twice about coming. Waitstaff said there was a issue with kitchen staff and promised our meals would be out in 5 minutes. Waited 15 and still no food at which point we ended up leaving. Odd thing was that other tables seated after us got their meals in a timely manner. Very disappointing as this was our first time trying Shipyard since new management. read more

One would think when you make reservations, you might tell the person the you have a LIMITED menu. Server didn't know many questions for the drinks or the SIX entrees. The food presentation was food kitchen or cafeteria line level. Taste was tasteless. No flavors. One entree was burnt to literal blackness, yet it was served. The garlic bread was pita bread without garlic. You know its bad when the entire group is digging for positive things to say. Oh, then another waitress comes with the food, she states the lasagna is meat loaf and argues with us. Meatloaf isn't even one of the SIX entrees. Our waitress rarely checked in. Came up here a weekend ago with the boys. Unfortunately, the conditions weren't very good so we had to make due by drinking heavily and pretending that there was actually some fresh powder on the slopes. After a long first day of trying to find the best runs, we decided to head down the street and grab some grub. This place was only a few minutes from the slopeside condo and a friend was already heading there so we decided on this location. Overall the environment was very laid back and is pretty much what you would expect at a slopeside bar. It wasn't very busy and they sat us right down. The local beer selection was very good. A friend ordered the chili and was a less than satisfied and another friend ordered the chicken parm grinder and was pleased with the fries, but said the sandwich was just alright. Everyone else said their meals were average, but one thing did stand out. That item was the wings. The blueberry buffalo was different but very good and everyone around the table enjoyed them. The real hit at this place was the claw machine that they had in the back. Normally a machine that just eats away money, but not for the crew. We left with almost 10 stuffed animals from that machine. Although the slopes weren't what we expected them to be the real victory was in beating the machine and I think all the guys would attest to that. This is a good local spot to grab a bite to eat and a brew during or after skiing. It is almost exactly what you would expect at your local slopeside joint, as I said. I have been going to the shipyard pretty much since it opened at Sunday River and had been a mug club member. Normally for a pub , i would give it a 4..it is pub food, but had always been good pub food...last year i would give it a 3 because of the food changes. Previously, the food had always been great ..Last year, 2019, the old manager had experimented with some new products like bread and a couple of other things to cut costs ...Unfortunately, the quality of the dishes that used the ingredients suffered, but not to the degree it is suffering this year.. The new manager has changed a lot more than just bread this year... the Reuben alone now tastes like it was made with the cheapest deli meat that could be found, the bread like day old marble rye, the french fries are now string fries - the kind you buy in the grocery store for 99 cents per bag. This was worse than cheap cafeteria food at s hospital.. There are some new staff and some of them like April and new Shelby are great- a little slow, but good .. There was a fill in bartender this morning who gave me a hard time and had an attitude .. The kind of bartender who thinks because he is the one dispensing a bloody Mary, he should be treated like some kind of master mixologist and held up by the natives in some form of reverence..Dude, you mix liquid and pour it in a freaking glass -you db- get over yourself and lose the attitude ....at any rate -i can tell you definitively- dont get the Rueben .. the mug club has now shrank the mugs twice..there really is no incentive to even have a mug club membership anymore.. You now pay in much more than you could possibly ever get out unless you are a family of alcoholics who drink 30 beers a day .. Really Forsley- are fn times so tough that you had to squeeze 4 ounce from the mugs.. yeah- that will make you an extra $500 a year you business genius db ..that's about all I got ..in short ..I'm going with highly un-recommended ..you're better off eating the trash at the foggy goggle read more
