Delicious!!! I haven't had much Turkish food, but I know delicious when I taste it. Can't go wrong with anything you order here. Large protions and great kebabs. Don't be fooled by the average customer ratings.

I could not eat the stinky rotten meat, it had gone beyond bad. Paid $16 to eat rice and salad

I was in the area and felt very hungry, I was about to go to the A&W inside the Petro Canada. When I saw this place across the street. I ordered a chicken doner plate $12:99 it comes with rice and salad. And I ordered a can of ginger ale as it did not include a drink the total was about $16. The girl who was. Behind the register had Competed the order and brought over to me within 30 seconds of me sitting down. She took the meat out of a hot plate along with the rice. The meat smelt rotten, the salad with it was fine but was drizzled in some yogurt which also had gone off. I tried my best and finished the rice and salad, but could not eat the meat it stank and was barley warm probably sitting there for the whole day, I went there at 9pm. I would advise you to not go here for the sake of your health and hard earned dollars stay away. I wish I had gone to A&W as I originally planned.

Ever since traveling thru Europe a few years ago, I've been looking for a place that serves good doner kebab. We have some great shawarma places in Toronto but I have yet to find a place that truly satisfies my craving. I noticed this place as I was driving past on Eglinton earlier today. Decided I'd give it a shot...so here I am, waiting for my order of Iskander Kebab. I asked what the difference is between this and a doner kebab (which judging from the signage is their main draw) and the guy behind the counter gave me a puzzled look and said 'the sauces'. More sauce the better for me, so I said I'd go for it. There are pictures of all the dishes on the wall but I couldn't really tell much from them other than some dishes have kebabs while others have meat shaved of 'turning thing'. The restaurant itself is nothing to write home about...small space but clean. A good sign (I hope) is the fact that it is pretty busy and most of the people seem like locals. Okay, my meal just arrived so it's time to chow down. Looks reeeeaaaally saucey. ....that was quick...all done. So the verdict? Meh, ok. Under all the saucey meat was soggy pieces of bread...now it could be soggy because of my selection but regardless, I wasn't a fan of that. Huge scoop of yogurt served along side the food only added to the blandness of the meal. A little more kick is what this meal needs IMO. If you're the kind of person who likes to add ketchup to everything and have a low tolerance for spice, the iskender kebab is great...not so much for me. Would I come back? Sure I'd give it one more chance for something different.

Lentil soup and hummus is not upto the mark extremely bad in taste and pricey for nothing. We took shish tawook and lamb doner bother were just fine. Disappointed!!

Shirin Kebab House is a casual neighbourhood diner in a strip mall. The ground beef Turkish pide is a cheeseless recipe, with a thin and light crust. The veal-and-lamb doner was a tasty bundle of meat packed into a cylinder of pita. For drinks, we enjoyed the cherry and pomegranate sodas in the van. We didn't try the baklava, as I'm allergic to walnuts. Tables and chairs are by the big window facing Eglinton. Families are comfortable bringing their children and toddlers. In the late afternoon, the turnover in clientele was relatively fast. During peak hours, take out would likely be more popular.

As soon as you enter, you are transported to a culinary experience unlike any other. My Mom and I took my Uncle here for his 86th Birthday at his request. We were a party of five. We ordered the Hummus, Haydari, Baba Ghanoush, Cheese Pide, Sujuk & Cheese Pide, Chicken Thigh Shish, Chicken Breast Shish, Beef Meatballs, Lamb Burger, and Turkish Tea. All dishes were excellent and arrived at our table piping hot. The portions were more than ideal and reasonable in price. The bold flavors were reminiscent of growing up in the Middle East. The service provided by Ridvan was quick, attentive, and friendly and only elevated our experience and culinary journey. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming; we felt like Family from the start to the completion of our meal. The hospitality showered upon us by our team of servers was the icing on the cake. We boxed up the remainder and had leftovers to enjoy the following day. Told the server that it was my Uncle's Birthday and a small cake was delivered to our table - complete with a lighted candle and lively greetings. Delightfully light and airy with chocolate chips on the inside and a red velvet exterior. Truly well executed. We will make a return visit in July when my Mom and I are in the Toronto Area.

Some circular sofas were a bit worn though, like they were used at another restaurant and then moved here. They also serve the traditional Turkish breakfast spread too for $37.99 per person, which seems fancy. We ordered the platter for two, which could honestly feed four people. The meat tasted authentic, by which I mean it was simply grilled with little seasoning, no unnecessary sauces. The kebabs were juicy and flavourful too - you could taste the lamb fat that added some richness. Service was okay, not quite attentive but sufficient. The staff just walked away when we tried to stop them for bill, which was surprising. They offer complementary team after the meal, which was thoughtful. I split the Urfa kebab plate with another person and we were pretty full after that. Barely able to touch the second so we took most of it home. The kebab was beef and lamb. It was very juicy and tender and very flavourful. The bulgur was soft but firm and the cabbage and onion salad was a nice tangy offset to the taste. There was also live music playing and several birthdays being celebrated so it was a bit loud and hard to have a proper conversation lol.

I loved everything except the milk tea - I wasn't quite expecting it to be so salty. The manta were dumplings with flavourful lamb and onion filling. The dapanji was chicken and potatoes in a stew with chewy hand pulled noodles. I really enjoyed the texture of the noodles! The polo was a buttery lamb and carrot rice that came with sides of yogurt and chopped vegetables. The nan kawap was very flavourful cumin stir fried beef with onions and naan. I'd never had bread added to stir fry before and it went great! Everything came out quickly and the servers were friendly. It was a cold wintry day when I visited Kroran, a small and cosy Uyghur restaurant in Scarborough…read more We were promptly greeted and seated by the lone server, who was friendly and helpful. Aside from teaching us how to pronounce Uyghur correctly (kind of like Vee-Grr), he recommended 3 dishes, the Legmen, Quruq Qorima, and Somen. We started with a Uygur salad, followed by some Manta (dumplings) and then the Somen. I'm happy to report that all of it was excellent! The very fresh salad is composed of tomatoes, cucumbers, garlic and onions. There was not a leaf of lettuce in site, which pleased me (I'm not a lettuce fan), and the cucumbers very fresh and tasty, with pleasantly powerful chunks of garlic complementing the salad well. At first, I thought that the Manta were a bit overpriced at $21, but when they arrived, I saw that they were enormous, and we had 6 of them! To my delight, the generous lamb dumplings were filled with lamb soup! Be warned! It will come bursting out all over your plate if you are careless, and you'll lose all the goodness of the soup! (I usually bite a hole in the side and try to sip it out). These were so excellent! The best soup dumplings I've ever had! Kroran had already set high expectations when the Somen arrived, and we were not disappointed. Somen is a sauced beef and noodle dish, with hand pulled noodles, savory pieces of beef, and various vegetables, including wood-ear mushrooms. It was a fine example of comfort food, and the noodles had a satisfying bite. Despite the whole chillies, it was quite a mild dish, but hot sauce was at the table so that you can spice it up if you prefer a more heat. It was very comforting and warming on a chilly winter's day, but I'd enjoy it year-round! Kroran is a bit pricy compared to similar restaurants, but the quality of the food and generous servings make up for that. Happily, they take all common methods of payment. Parking can be a bit tight, but there is some street parking available on the sidestreets. Uygur food is relatively uncommon in the GTA, but worth seeking out, especially for lamb and beef enthusiasts. I look forward to return to Kroran soon and try some other dishes, particularly the Lamb Kawap (kebabs), Samsa and Legmen.
