    * I ordered Manti (Uyghur dumpling) only (take out). So my review is quite limited. I found this place through TikTok which showed this restaurant's "Manti". It looked like a mix of Tibetian momo and Shanghai XLB (Xiao Long Bao). I thought I MUST TRY this!!! 20 mins of wait after ordering, which is a good indicator that the food is carefully prepared. Excited when the hot container with Manti was handed to me. Manti itself is 3/5, however, I boosted the review to 4/5 as I really appreciated to know this food's history. Let me explain: I liked the wrapper's natural taste, and appreciated that they are hand-made/pleated. It was the first time I had lamb dumpling - which had its own gamey flavor but spices and herbs harmonized to make it pleasant on the palate. It "seemed to have lot of juice in each pocket" - by putting "" I mean, unfortunately, the juice was running out from the pocket when I opened the container. 5 out of 6 Manti wrappings were torn... The wrapper was a bit too fragile to keep the generous meat and amount of soup. It was served with chopsticks, which I appreciated. But when I held a piece by the chopsticks, the soup and meat slipped out and I ended up eating them separately. It may serve better when it came with a large spoon. I ended up eating soup sipping from the corner of the container. If I ate them eat-in, I may have had a better experience. But then, I learned that Manti has quite a history. The food developed by the people who fled or influenced by many other Asian countries, and now, I was lucky enough to try it here in Toronto. I truly wish best and success of this polite and sincere restaurant. Therefore I boosted the star by one point. I think I want to come back to enjoy their food eat-in. The restaurant has tranquil ambience with a quiet elegance.

Amazing Uyghur food! All the dishes we tried were full of flavor. The lamb kebobs were so juicy and well seasoned. We also tried the Lengmen and kazan kawap, which were excellent. The space inside was simple and clean.

It's a cozy restaurant serving Chinese northern west style foods. If you like the lamb dishes this is the place for you. $20 for 4 lamb kebabs with NAN $31.99 for dapanji medium size ( it's saying 2-3ppl size, but we found it is not that big since we only have 2 persons and ordered other dishes) $18.99 for Koran lengmen, good taste , it's hand pulled noodles In summary, authentic Chinese xinjiang style foods, but the portions considered a bit smaller than the similar xinjiang restaurants

If you like lamb, welcome to Uyghur heaven. The uniqueness of these dishes and coziness of the restaurant is definitely something that's going to bring me back. Family run establishment and fresh food is another draw. It is definitely unexpected with the restaurant tucked away and the lacklustre sign outside. I had the Lengmen noodles which are pretty popular and for good reason. Hand pulled, flavourful and the lamb was delicious with all the veggies. Wednesday's special was a lamb pancake sort of thing. Really flavourful filling with onions and lamb. If you like lamb that's a no fuss kind of dish. Service was great and restaurant was quiet the time we went. Can't wait to come back for more!

I've heard many praises for Kroran Uyghur Cuisine and was thrilled to experience it firsthand. My visit during Ramadan resulted in a very quiet ambiance, reflecting not on the restaurant's quality but the fasting period observed by its primary clientele. Here's what I ordered: Lamb Kawap (Kebab): This dish was a highlight, with four large, juicy grilled lamb skewers presented over pita bread, complemented by onion and green onion garnishes. Using a spoon, I transferred the meat to my plate, and enjoyed the meat that was tender and juicy. Smoky and earthy spices enhanced the lamb's natural flavours. Kidney Kawap: A skewer per order, it had a bold, gamey flavour, with a delightful blend of smoky and spicy tastes. Quruq Qorima: An intriguing dry stir-fry featuring short, chewy noodles coated with a savoury and slightly sour sauce, primarily tomato-based. The beef slices and julienned bell pepper added layers of texture and flavour. Dry peppers scared me at first, but the overall taste was surprisingly mild. The restaurant's ambiance was understated but inviting, with tasteful decor including black tables, light brown walls, and captivating art pieces. A minor inconvenience was the single shared restroom for all genders, which could potentially lead to issues during busier times. Also, the server's availability was limited, understandable given that we were the only patrons. While the dishes were undoubtedly high quality, the total bill was higher than my expectations. A more affordable pricing would have improved my satisfaction with the meal. Overall, I had an authentic and enjoyable meal, marked by quality dishes. However, the cost considerations will influence my decision on planning a return visit for another indulgent culinary adventure.

I really enjoyed my visit to this restaurant. We could try things we've never come across and explore some new flavors. We had the Ünnche lengmen which is a stir fried handmade diced noodle with veggies and beef and the dumplings. Both were delicious. The noodles were chewy and since they were diced, went very well with the bite sized veggies and beef. Dumplings were amazing, so good with plenty of bursting flavor! Not being familiar with a cuisine always makes it hard to order, since you never know what you are missing out on. Luckily, it is always a fun adventure to try something new and out of the usual. Will have to come back and try more!

It used to be a really good place for Uyghur cuisine, but I visited recently post pandemic, very disappointed: the the fried lamb tripes is still good, but that's it; the naan tastes kinda dead; the meat in the fried bun is too bland, needs more seasoning; the quality of lamb in the skewer and the in the fried noodle is too bad, really hard to chew... I'm sad but I don't know if it's more of a quality control issue, because it still looks like authentic Uyghur cuisine, and many are going to this restaurant.

Quruq qorima (fried noodles) were pretty good. It was slightly sour and somewhat spicy. The sesame seeds gave it a nice taste and texture. Qazan kawap (wok kebab) was lamb with kebab spices and fried with onion. It was pretty good. The goshnan (pan grilled lamb pie) may be available on days other than Wednesday. It doesn't hurt to ask! It was decent. It wasn't strongly spiced or spicy (there was some pepper). The crust was quite crunchy (not the flaky kind of crust). It had a good amount of meat and tasted ok

The Kroran Uyghur Cuisine serves authentic Uyghur/Central asian cuisine. Staff and service are both good. The lamb and chicken dishes are both excellent, as is the polo (a type of rice dish). The naan here is also some of the best I've had. They are known for their lamb kabobs which are very juicy and flavorful. Overall, the food is great and reasonably priced, making it a great option for a casual meal. Try their Dapanji chicken!

This place is quite amazing. Every/ most dishes consist of lamb. Out of the three dishes that I had I like the skewers the most. The skewers has a bit of a kick to it and to pair the meat they gave two pieces of bread. The crispy texture on the inside with a juicy meat inside!!! Yum! The fried rice was undercook, some rice was still hard... it had mashed up carrots in the fried rice. To top it off they have stew cooked lamb. The lamb is so tender and soft that it melts like butter in your mouth. The dumplings were good too but the top of dumpling that held the dumpling wrap together was no cooked through. The meat inside did not meet my expectations... I was hoping the meat juice inside had a little more. The dumplings were topped with pepper and I feel that it's a little too much. I would give this restaurant a 3.5 star

Lengmen, stir fried hand pulled noodles cooked to al dente, must try.

Uyghur is the ethnic group resides in the Xinjiang province in northwest China. I visited Xinjiang many years ago but don't remember much of the cuisine except the lamb was good and the hami melon was delicious. Kroran Uyghur is a small restaurant with about 10 tables. It only opens for dinner from 4pm to 10pm. We arrived just after 6pm and were able to get seated right away for a party of 3. I noticed about an hour later, all the open tables were reserved. We ordered the Lengmen which was hand pulled noodles stir fried with vegetables and beef. The noodles were cooked al dente and not oily like many other stir fried noodle dishes. The Lengmen was the star of the night for sure. I definitely recommend this dish. The other dishes we tried were lamb kebab, Manta which was steamed dumpling with lamb filling and Chochure which was kind of like tortellini or wonton soup also with lamb filling. The lamb kebab although was tasty with lots of cumin and sumac which I like, the cut of meat was not good and a few pieces were all fats or sinew. The Manta was similar to the Georgian dumpling Khinkali but a little smaller. If you like lamb and the Chinese Xio Lung Bao, you will like the Manta. The Chochure was okay, the broth did not taste homemade but more like store bought chicken broth. Overall the food was reasonably good although the portion was on the small side. The server was friendly and attentive.

pathetic services.i travelled almost 40km to taste their special lagman, reached their at 8:20pm and in yelp its showing restaurant will be close at 10pm.when i reached there they said we had closed our kitchen now cant takes order more.i request them i travelled alot for your restaurant bt in response lady bring another guy who also made excuse we closed our kitchen.from that that i didnot went their again if they cant serve their services why they put restaurant will close at 10pm. then i moved to desi charcoal and taste their lagman and lamb skewers which are highly recommended

Went with my husband. We like Uyghur cushion a lot. Before we always go to Xin Jiang Restaurant - Halal near Steels/Warden for the lamb skewer and Dapanji. This time we decided to try something new and therefore went to this restaurant. We ordered 4 lamb skwers, a medium dapanji, a lamb kidney, and fried noodles. It's not just not bad, and they are in fact suprisingly good. Comparing two restaurants, Xin Jiang definitely wins in terms of variety and price, but I would say this place has a better quality of lamb. I loves Kroran's lamb skwers. Very juicy, tender and satisfactory. What surprised me is their friend noodles. It seems a bit oily. Once you start the first bite, you don't wanna stop although you are full. The noodles itself is vey chewy AND has favours! I love the tiny tomatoes inside which makes the dish a bit less oily. Green and red Peppers are at right cooking times. Meat slices very super favouriting. We were not hungry but we finished the entire plate before they served the next dish. Dapanji I would say, noodles are likely to be handmade and made to order, which is better than Xin Jiang. Potato inside is not as good as Xin Jiang. Overall, I like Xin Jiang's dapanji better. The whole meal costed us $100. We will still come by and we want to try everything in the menu. We have not tried the roasted pancake with meat inside as it's only available on Wed. Economically and variety wise, I would slightly probably prefer Xin Jiang over Kroran. Plus service isn't good at Kroran.
