Ronnie explained how people use the bayou and how some live in it. He explained how the hydrology of the area functions with the Mississippi River and how the water levels change, and how it affects the wildlife. We saw egrets, heron, an owl, and an alligator sunning on a log. It was a great experience. Ronnie is a top guide, and I feel like now he is a friend.

I believe a great addition would be an outdoor gym. They've kept up the area for the kids, but a nice outdoor gym for the parents and older folks would be great! The walking.jogging route is awesome, but there's room for something else that allows people to diversift their workout. We know Breaux Bridge doesn't have many gym options or places that feel safe enough to really get a good workout outside.

Bayou Teche B & B is the oldest standing building in Breaux Bridge (granted, there aren't many…read morebuildings at all in Breaux Bridge). It's a former boarding house that has been turned into an incredibly quaint Bed and Breakfast, with seven rooms and one suite. Two porches and a lovely terrace overlook Bayou Teche and the famed Crawfish bridge (not edible). The owner, Mary Lynn, has a healthy dose of graciousness and kick-in-the-pants humor. She had biscuits and cookies ready for us everyday which we devoured! It's rare that you meet someone who goes out of their way to make sure you're happy and enjoying yourself. She drove us 45 minutes to one of her favorite places- The Blue Moon. We planned to stay one night and were so thrilled with what we had found that we decided to stay for three.
