It was small, but there were some good deals to be had. The woman who works here greeted us when we came in and was pleasant. The store was clean and easy to navigate. The dressing rooms in the back looked quite nice, too. The lady who works here was very pleasant and we chatted a bit. I was surprised that they didn't have any business cards when I asked for one, though (I keep business cards for future reference, and also to help me when I write my Yelp reviews!). For the most part, though, this was a nice store to explore, with higher-end women's ware. I would definitely check back here if I lived nearby to see when items went on sale.

Well, that's the feeling I got when I visited Winthrop Mountain Sports during the recent Winthrop Quilt Roundup. I had never visited before, but it was a stop on the event passport so I popped in. Wow, what a GREAT place! First of all, they have way more than backpacking equipment. From stylish outdoorsy clothes to all sorts of hats, gloves, shoes, water bottles, and other must-have PNW-esque accessories, I could easily have outfitted myself for everything from a day hike up the Methow to an expedition down the PCT. They are also dog-friendly, allowing my friend's dog to wander the store with us (and even sneaking him a treat from behind the counter). Even if you're not outdoorsy, there's something you need in this shop. I ended up buying some road trip snacks for the journey home.

Lots of wonderful country and western themed Christmas decorations! Everything from ribbons and ornaments do lights and tree toppers- you could definitely decorate your whole Christmas tree here! Parking was easy and plentiful. We parked right in front of the Christmas shop, no problem. The outside of the shop has a big covered area full of Christmas wreaths, garland, decorative signs and clearance racks. Inside is more of the ornaments and more indoor decor items. It's a small shop and easy to walk through and see everything in about 15 minutes or so. The staff was friendly but not overly attentive- they are respectful of your space but available for questions. I like that. Restrooms are not available at the Christmas Shop. If nature calls during your visit- you have to high tail it over to the main building adjacent for relief. Not a huge deal except that you want to walk quick through the parking lot this time of year- as they say: "Baby, it's cold outside!"
