My 80 year old father has shopped at Arlberg Sports for as long as I can remember. He has purchased multiple bikes, hiking equipment, backpacking equipment and rack systems for vehicles. I have a very challenging vehicle to try to put a rack on. A truck with a canopy that is higher in the back than in the front. My dad had done tons of research to try to determine what type of rack would be the best for me. Having had several racks over the years, he has some parts that we could use and some parts that we need, but finding those parts and determining compatibility is the issue. My dad did tons of research online but Yamaha racks are overwhelming and confusing with all of the parts. We decided to go to Arlberg Sports and that was the best decision. I think the guy that helped us may be the owner, I am not sure. But he knew exactly the parts that we would need. He sold us only the parts that we needed, not the whole set, and then offered to order replacement parts for some of the parts my dad already had but needed fixing. When he couldn't get these discontinued parts he sold my dad some parts that he had from that discontinued stock from home. I have literally never encountered such knowledgeable retail service. This guy went way above and beyond to get me a functional system reusing parts that we already had and repurposing parts he had that weren't being used. This was my best shopping experience in years and I will shop at Arlberg when I am in Wenatchee for other sporting goods! read more

Sadly a poor and painful experience. My son rented some boots for a three day weekend and despite specifying that he was a size 11 they outfitted him with smaller boots. Of course he tried them on at the store, felt a little cramped but believed that once he would lean forward his foot would go back in the boots and it would feel OK. Despite the increasing pain during the day he tried to grind it out to eventually having to stop mid day and unable to walk to the car. His toenails are purple and are likely going to fall off. I returned the equipment and told the manager this was completely unacceptable. He merely offered to refund the rental, which at this point I didn't care, as my son's weekend is now ruined and he will have to stay in a hotel room while the rest of the family goes skiing. read more

Why 5 stars? Because renting a bike here was as easy as it gets. --- --- --- It was almost laughable how laid back these guys were with the bike rentals. We walked in, wrote down our name and contact info, and were handed a bike. There was no checking of our ID's to see if we were who we said we were. And as we were leaving, my friend jokingly suggested that maybe they should let us take the upgraded bikes instead. The associate actually said that would be fine if we wanted to, but my friend declined. The only negative part of this experience is that I wish we had taken them up on that! Then he let us know to make sure that our seats were at the proper height, and if they weren't, he would adjust them with an allen key. When we said that our seats were fine, he said, "you know what? Just take the allen key with you in case you have an issue." We actually ended up forgetting to return the allen key, and had to do so before we got out of town a couple days later. Thanks for waiting! Riding bikes around Wenatchee is not something Arlberg can take credit for, but I'm so glad that Arlberg does offer rentals, because it was an amazing experience. Well, at least, the downhill riding with the wind was enjoyable... the uphill, against the wind riding made me re-evaluate my life, especially on the easy-rider bikes. read more

I decided I wanted to give snowboarding a try, picked up a used board and took it to Arlberg sports to make sure it was was adjusted to my stance. Not knowing how or what to ask, I was a little embarrassed to ask for help. A woman greeted me at the door as soon as I entered and asked if I needed anything. I was directed to Shay in the Snowboard department who reeadjusted the bindings for me and gave me a few pointers on getting started before leaving. Not only did he help me, he didn't make me feel like a complete idiot for not knowing what I was talking about. Thanks Shay! If you're in need of gear RIGHT NOW, this is the only game in town. Which, is unfortunate because the customer service is horrible. I refuse to go here unless I need something last minute. Every time I walk in, I don't get a hello or "how's it going?" If you can't find something, make sure to ask because the staff is clueless on how to use the words "Can I help you find something?". Oh, and you'd be more likely to see pigs flying than getting a "thank you for coming in". I've really tried to like this store, but their horrible customer service and inflated prices remind me why I don't like to shop here. I'm actually really surprised by the other reviews as every one of my friends shares my sentiments about Arlberg. I can't stand the bad customer service so much that, If at all possible, I will drive 30 minutes each way to get to Leavenworth. There is a similar, but smaller store there that has prices that compete with online stores and have great customer service, to boot. read more

Do not rent a mountain bike here! I am a mountain biker and an IMBA member. I'm from the midwest and was on vacation in Washington, looking to ride some of the great trails in Washington. We rented bikes from Arlbergs for 2 days, and on the first day we blew out one of the tires (our fault) and were unable to ride one of the rental bikes. The next morning I returned to the shop to get a new tire for this bike, and the head mechanic (Dan?) charged me FULL RETAIL price to replace the blown out tire! I spent $50 to replace a WORN OUT used tire on a rental bike, and he replaced it with a used tire that they took off of one of their floor bikes! When I questioned the mechanic about paying $50 for a used tire (Specialized Fast Trak from one of the factory bikes) he replied "WELL I COULD CHARGE YOU $65 FOR THE TIRE YOU WRECKED". So I ended up spending full MSRP $50 to replace a used worn out tire with a tire that I only got to use for ONE DAY. It ended up being $150 for one day... This shop has terrible customer service and is greedy. There is a bike shop across the street, try them first. In fact, there is a bike shop in Leavenworth too, try them first. Try anything you can to avoid this shop. Even without this mechanical issue the shop clearly does not take good care of their rental bikes, they were completely covered in dirt, and the chain most likely saw it's last oiling over a month before we rented them. Arlbergs ripped me off, but will never see another dime from me again. read more

As a 73 y/o cyclist who relishes long rides, to which my husband does not, I chose to get an e-assist bike while I rehabbed my recent knee post surgery. I found the bike I wanted at Arlberg's and after talking with Josh I traveled to Wenatchee to try a Specialized Vado SL 4.0. Its lighter weight and all its features appealed to me. I like the fact that I can use it as a regular bike without the assist, also. When I took it out for a test ride Josh turned to my husband and said "Do you want to wait here or try one also"? Long story short, we rode around Wenatchee and we were both sold. Husband said he would ride it back & forth to the golf course-avid golfer! And, yes he does. Since getting the bikes we have done the Gorge Ride (40miles) Ride the Hurricane-me (sea level to 5242 feet) and many 20+ mile rides. I can't say enough about the expertise of Josh at Arlberg's. First we went to the store in town to buy ski poles. The lady we met was nice and knowledgeable, helped us a lot! Then another lady looked over the list of skis at the Mission Ridge demo hut and pointed out several that I might like. Nice people! At the demo hut we met a guy who was 1000% awesome. We skiied on demo skis all day, trying all kinds, and his knowledge of the skis and knowledge of the area was top-notch. His expertise and friendliness were 5-star worthy, and I am so happy we decided to demo skis at Mission Ridge. They had a nice selection for us to try and he was really flexible with whatever we wanted. We ended up not buying skis from Arlberg because we found them cheaper online (I'm an online bargain shark), but honestly, these people are kind and helpful and know their stuff. Looking to buy skis? i happened to be at a conference right next door at the convention center. so what a great idea to take a break and rent a bike for a few hours. there's an easy and beautiful trail along the river right next to the bike shop which i didn't even realize. for an 11 mile bike ride, you get to ride along the water, bridges and see the terrain change from dry to apple orchards to green trees. very friendly staff and good rental prices! read more

I went to Arlbeg Sports because I had a problem with my Yakima cargo carrier on my car which I actually purchased someplace else. Talked to a guy there named Adam and explained my problem. Adam said no worries lets see what we can do, even though I wasn't actually a returning customer. He tried to help my fix my lock and when we couldn't figure it out he emailed his rep with Yakima. It was taking a while to hear back from them so he told me he'd call me as soon as he heard anything. Sure enough my phone rang first thing in the morning and he forwarded me video on how to vix my problem. I just wanted to say thanks again and to let anybody thinking of going to this store know that their customer service is fantastic wether you are a customer or not! You guys rock read more

Over the past 3 years, I have tried to use Arlberg Sports since I ride Specialized bikes and they sale (and service) that brand. My recent and last opportunity to utilize their service and expertise is (as usual) a tremendous disappointment. I called to see if they could replace a front fork (which is warranted). The person on the phone was completely unhelpful and quite negative. I went back to my 'old' bike shop in Woodinville where the customer service is amazing!! We came to Wenatchee on a whim. First off, they were the only shop to carry and infant/toddler carrier. They put it on the bikes for us and even pumped our tires. They said it would take about an hour to go around the trail but unfortunately we are not in that good of shape and so took longer. They kindly waited for us and did not even charge us extra. When I went to go tip because of what they did, they said it was too much. I would certainly come back here. Dan and kalan had excellent customer service. read more

This place has awesome customer service and is just overall great. I went to Wenatchee with friends and brought our own bikes. I rented a baby trailer from this place and they connected it to my bike, taught me how to disconnect it if I needed, and pumped air into my own bike. We took longer than expected on the trail and came back about 10 minutes after. We felt so bad, but Dan was so understanding and helpful. The staff was overall nice and helpful. Kudos to Kaylin and Dan who helped set up my bike as well as take apart the trailer. If I was in Wenatchee again I'd definitely come back to this place for rentals. read more

Last week my nephew was making the drive from Los Angeles to visit his parents in Spokane. He had texted me that he was tired of renting ski equipment and wanted to own his own gear. I told him that he first needed to buy his own boots and then think about skis,and that the best boot fitters in the northwest are here in Wenatchee at Arlberg Sports. He stopped in town on his way through and was set up not only with boots but the employees at Arlberg also helped with skis and bindings. Allison and Michael were amazing at fitting him for boots that were appropriate for his feet and were also helpful in listening to what he wanted from a ski. The guys in the basement, Dan and Kellen had his bindings mounted in just a few minutes and he was on his way. Phenomenal service, highly recommended. read more

I will NEVER go anywhere else for ski gear. I was a little set back at first looking at the prices, but this place reminds you that customer service and quality is priceless. I have very wide feet and getting a comfortable ski boot in the past was impossible. It took three different fittings and two different boots, but these guys did it! All included in the price of the boot. Actually they had to exchange my original Lange boot for a Technica, the Technica was cheaper and they refunded the difference in price. I did not feel comfortable with the refund as some of the Lange fit was my fault. They said, "We have a boot fit guarantee" and insisted I take the refund. Good luck finding that at the box store or ebay. We are blinded by the best price and forget that you get what you pay for. I hope we get back to local business like these! You will not be disappointed with their customer service and quality. I love my boots! read more

I agree with other reviews as far as quality product and gear. Their ski selection is good and the person I spoke to was knowledgeable and helpful. However, I am completely disappointed with their bike shop and customer service at the shop. Don't waste your time and go to Full Circle. They will get the job done faster and treat you as a valuable customer. The big difference in between the two is this: one has the owner who is in business to repair bikes and keep his customers happy, the other has some kids at the counter that don't really have any reason to relate to the customer as the working day approaches lunch. read more
