I'm a college student so being able to snag such a good deal online makes my day and having a great experience cashing it in makes my week! The location: I've never been to their previous place (Aurina told me they were in the plaza behind the El Torito on Van Nuys and Ventura) although I've driven past it at least a thousand times, but I am familiar with the area they were in and this new place that they're at is quite a few steps up! As soon as I pulled in to their new place I was taken aback by the beauty of the building. It doesn't look like most medical businesses. It's beautifully landscaped and makes you feel like you're visiting your rich Aunt Judy lol (they have a cobblestone driveway and parking area!). The fountain at the entrance is a really nice touch. It fills the lobby with a nice rhythmic sound that can set even the crankiest scrooge in a tranquil mood rather quickly. After a quick ride up their gorgeous elevator you get to their floor and have to walk all the way down to the end of the hall to their door. The office: As soon as I walked in I was greeted with smiles and asked to fill out my basic info. That took all of like 2 minutes after which I was shown to my room and given instructions to disrobe and tuck myself in under the sheets and blanket. I was the first appointment of the day and expected I'd be walking in to a cold office but they must've come in earlier and started the heat right away. That was very much appreciated by me because that morning was a rather chilly one. The office itself was very elegantly laid out. The color scheme was gorgeous and their couch was really comfortable. The last place I went to for a massage was in a shopping center so this place really made a great impression. The massage: When I was done filling out paperwork I was shown to my room by my therapist. Afterwards Aurina came in, introduced herself to me again and asked me if there were any trouble areas I'd like her to focus on. I explained to her the exact areas where I sometimes hurt and she said she's take care of it. Before beginning she went an extra step and warmed up the lotion she'd be using on me. Again, very much appreciated. Aurina had a firm touch and made most of my knots disappear painlessly. She was a really pleasant lady and made my experience a very pleasant one. Overall I really had a great experience. I was impressed by the building and the fact that the staff went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. In touch is not at all a day spa, it's more like several rooms spectrum has converted into areas to do massages and facials, spread out throughout the facility. There is no place to sit and relax. It was uncomfortable and had I known I would never have wasted money there or my friend's special day! The room I had my facial was directly off the pool. I mean directly. You open the door and you are in the pool. The entire time I was receiving my facial a woman was yelling outside, teaching a class or something. Not at all relaxing. My esthetician said that sometimes a woman is singing songs like Take Me Out to the Ball Game. Well jeez, so sorry I missed that!!! My friend's massage was in a converted office across the facility that she had to walk in her robe through the gym and through a construction site to get to. She was pretty embarrassed. The bride of all people had her appointment messed up, which wasn't exactly the spa's fault, but instead of comping us now, they are having her come back another time and had her get another treatment. What if she never goes back? Are they going to reimburse us? We were promised all sort of things... For example, I received a peel and the esthetician said she would give me lotion and samples to take and try and I received none of those. I was the first one finished, so I was waiting and my face was drying out. I asked the manager if the esthetician had left a lotion sample, she said no. She preceded to take some lotion from her purse for me to use. That's very nice, but a little strange. I felt uncomfortable using this strangers lotion from her purse. The only place to sit and wait was the locker room. I haven't seen so many naked women in all my life! I'm no prude, but the last thing I want to do is catch a glimpse of a woman spread eagle in the dry sauna when I'm supposed to be relaxing at the spa with my friends! We were supposed to receive complimentary champagne with out package. It was only given to us when we asked and it was in cheap plastic cups, Andres no less. Not trying to be snoody, but it seems to me that if you are selling a bridal package it should be a little fancier, as this was a special day! I can drive to 7/11 anytime and get Andres and for a lot less than I paid today! I would suggest that Spectrum rethink this whole "day spa" approach. Spectrum does not have a day spa, Spectrum has some converted rooms, and in bad locations throughout the facility. I would also stop marketing packages for parties, because it was not enjoyable other than my friends and I know how to have a good time together... When we saw each other that is... I am disappointed that we even had to pay for that today. What a cluster! The girls working were very nice and that's why I gave it a star.
