I avoided Thrive for over a year after a prior experience where it was nearly impossible to get an appointment with my PCP. Unfortunately, nothing has changed. At my wife's urging, I gave them another chance and scheduled an 8:30 a.m. telehealth appointment because I needed a referral to a specialist. Thrive insisted on another appointment just to issue the referral--something the specialist's office said was unnecessary. I logged in on time and waited nearly 20 minutes before calling. Only then was I told my appointment had been canceled because I hadn't prepaid a $25 copay. Their only attempt to collect it? A single call at 8:12 a.m.--18 minutes before the appointment--during the middle of a workday. I missed it, and rather than try again or simply collect the copay at check-in like any reasonable provider, they canceled outright. Canceling a patient's appointment over a $25 copay with virtually no notice isn't just inconvenient--it's unprofessional and disrespectful of patients' time. I would never treat a client this way. Thrive's systems and priorities are clearly out of step with basic patient care. read more

The appreciation I have for Thrive Medical, but especially Dr. Arasheben had to be something I write a review for. I FEEL HEARD. What do I mean? Dr. Arasheben listens and doesn't dismiss or check out mid conversation. He provides honest suggestions and attempts to resolve any medical concern I may have. The staff is also amazing with follow ups and appointment reminders. But seriously, Dr. Arasheben is amazing. If you've ever felt dismissed or felt like you've had to advocate really strongly for a doctor to listen to you - I strongly recommend Dr. Arasheben. Code 99401 ~ Let all know if your doctor or nurse practitioner keeps you on the phone at least 8 minutes they can charge an additional charge with no transparency. I called for a simple prescription refill and was told I needed a doctor visit (Zoom call) to do so. So I paid my Co-pay for a refill appointment and had this visit ( mind you this was not a check up, health problem but simply a refill appointment). I then received a past due bill for an additional $83.76. I called in and thought this would be cleared up immediately but it wasn't. They said I had this outstanding balance for what wasn't covered and I was seriously curious because my share of this visit was a CO-PAY paid before the actual visit. I asked them to send me the breakdown which wasn't provided to begin with, just the past due notice. Then I saw this erroneous charge coded as 99401 for Preventative Counseling. Indiv 15 min. I called back to speak to billing and advised I received zero "counseling" and this was for a refill. I spoke to this unreasonable man who kept just saying I owed this money after many attempts to convey I received nothing but a refill. Now I received a message from Dr. Armin Arasheben to be more professional. This after sneaking in additional charges! Be aware of staying on the phone with this medical office for more than 8 minutes. Great transparency Thrive!! read more

The Tarzana office has been good too with their communication and their staff is friendly and respectful. They are incredibly vindictive people. They said they "want to look into" what happened but after they saw this review they sent my husband a letter telling him not to come back to this office. I thought the Dr was an ethical guy, but who lets their office be tyrants like this and cut off patient care because of a negative review without first making sure they have all their prescriptions? He's there when you need him and so is his office Nurse Practitioners and support staff. This is a small practice, but the family medicine practitioners are top-notch. They are bright, efficient, and personable. They take time to listen and give conservative options where possible, are knowledgeable in geriatrics, and focus on healthy lifestyle rather than prescribing copious drugs. I had such a wonderful first visit at the Valley Village location for my annual physical exam! The check-in process was quick and easy, and my provider, Renuka Abraham, was AWESOME. I felt like she was very present in our visit; she asked good questions, listened to my concerns, and overall I felt like she cared about our interaction and wasn't just rushing onto the next thing. I went in preparing to advocate for myself and didn't even have to because she was in my corner the whole time. I visited this clinic to get a Pap smear and an STD screening. They told me that I needed to go to the labs. They assured me that it should be covered since they are in-network with my insurance. However, I received a $300 bill in the mail. Since I know it's an insurance issue, I called my insurance, and they informed me that they only needed to change the ICD code. I then called the clinic back and left a message with the receptionist. A representative called me back and said they did everything they could. It's not difficult to resubmit an ICD code. I will definitely be taking my services elsewhere. read more

I had an appointment today at 4:30 just to give a blood sample for a routine test of cholestrol and sugar and so on I have had Kaiser Permenante in Woodland Hills for my insurance in the last 5 years and I just changed insurance to Medicare and Aetna. so I asked the girl upfront to give me the Medical Record Release form and she had no idea what I was talking about and then while I was waiting for the nurse a guy came in with the form and started saying things like "you can just fill it out online", "you can fill it out when you get home", "you can contact the Kaiser yourself and request your records" , very obvious he didn't want to do it. I said I'll fill it out now while I'm waiting and give it to you now to fax it to them and he said "we're busy right now and we don't know how long it will be to get your records! " then he said you have to fill out all the details of the address and fax number. I was getting very angry , how difficult it is for them to get the fax number to the Kaiser in Woodland Hills. Then another woman came in saying "this is the responsibility of the patient and not us, you have to request your own records!" I said are you refusing to get my records? she repeated It's your responsibilty not us (that means refusing). I wonder why they had the Medical Release Form in the office when they said it's not their job!! While I was waiting for the nurse, I looked up the phone number to Kaiser Perminante Woodland Hills to request copies of Medical Records 818/719-2678 (it only took me 2 minutes). By this time I furious and most of all I lost confidence in this office. I have been here before a few times years ago (before I had switched to Kaiser) and I was looking forward to coming back especially I am Persian and so are the doctors in here, but when the nurse came by, I was too angry and frustrated for the treatment I got, I decided to walk out. I told the nurse I don't have confidence in these front office people now, even if I give this Medical Release Form they may just trow it away because they were too lazy to find a phone number which took me 2 minutes on my phone and fax the form to Kaiser. I told the nurse unless they call me and appologize for this rude and unprofessional behavior, thay have lost a cutomer to this business. They wasted more than an hour of my time and if I could've given them zero stars I would have. This request was not verbal - They gave me a form (Medical Record Release) and I signed it. They refused to fax this signed form (authorized by ME) to Kaiser. (the response from the owner at Google Review claimed that my request was verbal ! ) read more

STAY AWAY!!!! First off they take advantage by using any excuse to charge you a copay!!! Want a medication refill. Guess whah they want a telehealth call to discuss it even when you've been on it for years. They use every excuse in the book to charge you and make you pay for unnecessary calls. The wife named Shiva is never around so don't choose her as your doc as she takes care of her child and is barely ever there. The husband armin then takes over for her but he sucks. He is so afraid of prescribing anything it's insane. He was afraid of giving Mounjaro and afraid of giving testosterone. The levels my cardiologist and urologist said I should be on he was afraid of prescribing. He was afraid of me and wanted me to leave. He did all of this because of called him out on his inappropriate billing practices. I have my masters in health administration and worked in medical groups and know what he is doing is not proper billing standards for a group in my experience. STAY AWAY!!!! read more

Wow, in a world of corporate managed health care, where it seems like insurance companies direct more and more of the patients individual health needs, Dr Armin Arasheben is a breath of fresh air. His bed side manner, old fashioned concern and care, his compassionate ability to listen to his patients and genuine desire to treat each patient uniquely, restores my faith in the medical system I knew as a child and young man. It harkens back to another time in history of the real family doctor who knew your name and cared about his or her patients. It's been a long time since a doctor spent as long as Dr Arasheben did in my office visit with him today. He has been in practice a long time, yet still responds to every appointment with me like I was his only patient. The Dr has a way of breaking down my questions, and explaining issues calmly, clearly and leaves me a feeling of assurance when I leave my appointments. Not to mention his down to earth personality, sense of humor that helps disarm a patient like me who tends to get nervous and anxious when seeing a physician. I am a member of the LGBTQ community, and Dr. Arasheben has never made me feel judged or ashamed when I have had to address my particular unique health issues as a gay man. Even though the Dr is a heterosexual man, he is compassionate to patients regardless of identity or background. I am so happy to be back under his care after being out of the area for awhile. Also- as someone who works in the health care industry, I have to give a shout out to the incredible front desk staff! Wow! I left a message and within a hour of my call, I had 2 or 3 staff calling me back, to make sure they took care of me! Dr arasheben is amazing dr, full of knowledge , caring , explain all details to patient . I am his PT over 12 years , very happy with him. I highly recommended him to everybody . BUT FRONT OFFICE OR WHOEVER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ANSWERING PHONE CALL ARE HORRIBLE. They never answer the phon, no matter when you call or how urgent is it.
