I just recently had to arrange a move for my sister and brother-in-law to a new apartment. Even after a large purge, they had a massive amount of stuff, lots of it fragile, much of which would need to be packed for them prior to the move as well. I was very nervous about finding the right mover that would not just be very careful and time sensitive(we had a tight timeline), but would be budget minded as well. A good friend recommended Schleppers to us very highly, saying they had done her move 9 months before and were terrific. From the moment Nicholas Rodriguez, one of their senior move coordinators showed up to do the estimate I knew it would be all fine. He arranged to see us immediately when we told him about our schedule, moved through the apartment documenting all items and our requested services and was amazingly efficient and pleasant. Plus, he provided us with the estimate on the spot, so no waiting. Much to our relief it was very fair, flat fee, with no hidden costs. If we wanted to add anything additional, the costs were laid out as well. The moving team showed up on time to pack up the apartment, were gracious, professional and considerate and were out hours earlier than we had expected with no mess left behind at all. We decided mid day that we wanted to add unpacking to our contract for the actual move the next day and were able to do so easily even though it was last minute and not for an exploitative cost either. The moving day could not have gone smoother. The same team showed up-again on time-and systematically unloaded and placed all items exactly where we requested-unpacked all boxes, made sure that there were wide enough paths to get through easily till all items were put away, hung up all clothing from wardrobe boxes and removed all empty boxes and moving related debris. All while being unfailingly polite and thoughtful. A representative called during packing day and moving day during the process to make sure we were happy with the process and asking for any feedback(good or bad) and then again at the end of moving day to confirm everything went as well as promised and expected. I have used Schleppers in the past and WILL NEVER USE or RECOMMEND again Last August I hired them to move my things to their storage facility. I paid for 2 NEW wardrobe boxes and during a Pandemic, they provided me with 2 USED ones. A year later, this past August they moved my things to New Jersey. I arranged for a morning move. As opposed to the booked 9:00-10:00 am arrival time, the truck arrived at 1:30 pm. Next they proceeded to bring me someone else's headboard. The original team apparently didn't know how to properly pack furniture and as a result, both my dining room table and my TV each had cracks. To make matters even worse, upon unwrapping the sofa the original team wrapped in plastic, the mover slashed my sofa. Customer care as well as the mover both apologized and promised that Shleppers would take care of the damage. Shleppers said that since I didn't take out the extra FULL COVERAGE INSURANCE, even for the sofa they slashed in front of me, all they could do was offer me a GOODWILL SETTLEMENT of $345...I get it, things happen but I would think unwrapping a sofa without slashing it would be something the $2000 I paid them to move me would cover....the cost to replace these things is well over $4000 so $345 is NOT ACCEPTABLE!!!! read more

I had an amazing experience with Schleppers. The salesperson who helped me, Nicholas, used to be a mover himself so he knew firsthand the kind of packing/ unpacking and transportation I required. The team led by Oscar and Angel were fantastic. Super detailed and very professional. It was raining heavily the day of my move - I had so many things they spread it out over 3 days but they pulled an extra long shift on the last day (12 hours!!!) because we had to end early on the 2nd day because of the rain. The team were great. I recently used Shleppers for a move between Brooklyn apartments. They arrived exactly on time and immediately got to work. Since I was currently living in a two bedroom with a roommate and moving to a one bedroom, they reviewed the list of items moving to ensure that they got everything of mine but also didn't take anything that wasn't supposed to be going with me. With several pieces of large furniture and 15 or so boxes of my belongings, they were in and out of my third floor walk up within an hour and I was moved into my new place by lunchtime. I used Shleppers for my move this past December (2017) (Far end of Brooklyn to far end of Manhattan).They responded to my request for a quote really quickly and were excellent about following up. I had about 40 boxes and 10 pieces of furniture, and it was all loaded on the truck in well under two hours. They arrived right on time, wrapped all the furniture, took things apart and put them back together on the other side. Everything arrived undamaged. They also provide extra boxes for clothing and miscellaneous, which was really convenient. This was my third move in three years and definitely the smoothest and the easiest. Wonderful moving company- the best experience I have had (and I've moved about a dozen times within the city). I have never had a more seamless move in NYC and I have moved 4+ times here in Manhattan. They were right on time and had the COI ready for the building (I live in a luxury building downtown and this is always such a pain -- but no pain with these folks!). I had an excellent experience with Shleppers. Though They were economical compared to other movers but they had top notch service. The movers came in time, did all the packing in my home, took extreme care of my valuables (I found even some of cash nicely wrapped inside the boxes), Reassembled all my furniture and placed all the boxes where I wanted them to be and completed the whole move before the quoted time. No extra unforseen costs which most movers will add on.They came fifteen minutes earlier then the time alloted. Not an hour late like some movers .
