We came to buy a specific shoe. Lucky for me they had one in my size. This is a DYI shoe store, but the staff was very helpful in showing us what we wanted and getting the extra shoe that they hide away to prevent theft. I needed to use the bathroom and today was my first time ever needing a wheelchair. The staff member unlocked the men's room door which also had a wheelchair indicator. I am assuming that the women's room was too small to accommodate a wheel chair. Unfortunately, the men's room looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a few days. Horrible with poo all over the toilet. I did what I could to protect myself from the filth but it was appalling. If not for that, I would have given 5 stars. read more

Watch out for Mariah at this location. Pitch perfect example of pure passive-aggressive evil. Their sign says "BOGO FREE BOOTS" in huge letters and plastered all over the store. It didn't say "some boots" or "select boots" or "most boots" in big letters, although I'm certain the tiny disclaimer text that NO ONE reads points that out. Naturally, one of the two boots my daughter selects doesn't qualify. My response to my daughter was, "that's why I hate this place. You'll have to pick different boots" I didn't scream it across the store, I wasn't yelling at anyone, and I didn't say anything that shouldn't be said in front of my 12-year-old daughter. As we walked away, the guy said, "I'll hold this pair up here for you." I responded, "If I even decide to come back up for them." In response to my smartass comment as we went to look for different boots, Mariah shouts back, "That sounds good to us." Now, was I trying to be a smartass? Absolutely, because not one person even bothered to apologize or politely clarify their perfectly legal, yet completely unethical sign. No attempt was made to see it from my viewpoint. Instead, Mariah said, "It's only SELECT boots," in a tone that indicated it was MY fault I didn't understand their "BOGO FREE BOOTS" sign didn't mean ALL boots. She was even worse when I went back up to pay for the boots, so much so, that as we're leaving, my daughter says to me, "Holy cow, why was she acting like that?" My answer, "Sadly, some people are just very unhappy, mean people who hate their job." The worst part, if just one, single person had been polite, maybe just a very simple apology for the misunderstanding, then absolutely none of this would have happened. The slightest bit of empathy that I had to disappoint my 12-year-old daughter and tell her to put back the boots she really wanted would've been enough to diffuse the whole situation. Instead, Mariah chose to do the one thing she could do to escalate it...and sadly, I'm fairly certain she was the manager. Steer clear of this location or face the wrath of Mariah and her passive-aggressive attitude. read more

Literally the worst customer service I have ever had. I asked for my online order and they told me it wasn't ready. Then proceeded to tell me I'd have to come back later, instead of just having an employee pull the item and check me out. I told them there is only one pair left and asked if they would at least pull the item so that someone doesn't buy it. They told me no, and that if someone bought it before they had time for them to get to it, I would get a refund. There were about 4 employees just standing around ignoring me while I asked questions. I asked for a manager and instead of walking over to get one, the girl who repeatedly rolled her eyes at me, screamed the managers name across the store. The manager ignored it so I walked over and was waiting for her to finish speaking to another customer. She knew I was waiting and when she was done.... Walked right past me making a comment under her breath. I asked if I could just cancel and price match the one in store and they told me if I cancel the prefer then I don't get it for the price I paid. i asked why one of the many employees standing around couldn't just pull it and they all made comments about me in front of me while continuing to ignore me. Finally the girl who is standing against the counter repeatedly rolling her eyes at me, told one of the boys to go grab the shoes off the shelf so they can put them behind the counter, and he completely ignored her as well. Literally was met with an attitude as soon as I walked in. Even if you don't agree with the customer or what they're saying, have some common courtesy, or find a new place to work. read more

I like Shoe Carnival -- I do notice that their selection pretty much varies and they don't keep the same shoe in stock for long. That's why their prices are so low. Recently, my Partner and I both got name brand running shoes for $93 total. That's amazing! I do find that the employees aren't always up in your face -- I like that. I don't understand the notion of needing associates to hold your hand while buying shoes. I understand that if you have kids, then yes you would probably need to get their shoe size, but you shouldn't need an associate with you to buy some shoes. I have worked in retail before and that place had a shoe department. I have had a bunch of people come up to me and ask me "What shoe should I buy if I have *insert this medical condition here*" How the hell am I supposed to know? I am not a doctor. Don't have unrealistic expectations to what shoe salespeople are supposed to do. I have found that the sales associates here are nice. Honestly, you can't beat their prices. read more
