As i walked into the store there were 4 gentleman standing at the cash register talking. One of the men COULD NOT speak a five word sentence without using the "F" word. By the time I reached the middle of the store he must of used the word 15-20 times. I stopped and looked at them, he just continued using the "F" word. One of the gentleman came back and asked if he could help me. I told him what I was looking for and he said that they didn't have what I wanted but that he could order it. I told him no thank you. Then I proceeded to tell him that I thought the person using the "F" word was totally out of line. He said that he wasn't an employee of the store he was the "Security Guard". He also said the manager lets him talk that way. I'm not a prude. I swear occasionally. This man must have used the "F" word 30 time's within 7-8 minutes. As I left the store I told him he was way out of line. The security firm that employs him need to get him in line. Also the store manager that lets him talk that way needs to be straightened out. Just imagine if young children were in there. Not that I matter, I won't be returning to the store and I will mention this incident to my friends.

I was happy to see several cars in the parking lot when I went on a Sunday afternoon. The outside of the store is very attractive and bright and the sidewalk and parking lot were noticeably clean. This continued in the store, I noticed as I moved around it was spotless inside, and the displays all looked very nice and well stocked. As you enter the store, the women's clothing section is on your right and the men's section on the left, and the boots are on shelving along the entire back of the store. I had gone to get a particular pair of boots so I made my way back to the boots and found the section with my size. This is a display where you choose your boots off of an open shelf. After looking unsuccessfully for a couple of minutes, I was approached by a sales associate and they asked if I needed help I showed them the boot I was looking for and they told me they didn't think they had it in stock, but I could order it. I did let her know that the website showed that Porterville had it in stock but she said again that she didn't think they did. since I wanted to double check my size, I took another boot of the same maker and size to a bench to try on. I asked for a boot jack which was brought to me immediately. After confirming the size that I wanted to order, I continue to look around the store a bit. I did find some socks and a T-shirt. I wanted to purchase as well. They had a good supply of both. as I was making my way out of the boot section, I was approached by a different employee who asked if I was finding everything and I mentioned that the boots I came for was not in stock, but I was going to order it, he asked which one it was and he went back to double check, which I thought was nice. He came back with two different boots. Neither were the one I had wanted but they looked similar, but I appreciate the effort. The first woman who had help me with the birds, was also the one who check me out and she was very pleasant and helpful and she ordered the boots I wanted, and will have them sent to my home. They could also come to the store but since I don't live extremely close to the store, I decided to have them sent to my house but I am kind of regretting it now because I wouldn't mind going back in the store because it was really nice. If you are looking for high-quality western wear or workwear I highly recommend Boot Barn. Over the last few years, I have noticed a sharp decline in the jeans you buy at places like Kohl's or Macys as far as quality, but I did see some really nice brands there and they are high-quality denim that are made to last. I will definitely be back! Please note that the photo I contributed shows my service dog. He is not a pet, but was trained by a service dog organization so he is allowed by law to accompany me into the store. Next time I go in the store I will take photos of the displays, but this was the only one I took that day but I wanted you to see the cleanliness of the store. Not a bunch of screaming kids like the other big store across the street. I was surprised last time when I supplied my own bags at checkout the checker scanned all of my items but I had to bag my own things. I'm not sure if that is the norm or if just the way she did things but that's something to be aware of because not everyone wants to bag their own items or can bag their own items. I will say that since their last major remodel I don't think they carry as many items or they may carry more brands but less of each item within that brand. The first time I noticed this was in the hair color aisle, they had several brands but the one I was looking at was missing the entire blonde selections. That was something they carried before the remodel. I will take that with a grain of salt though because there are supply issues still happening but I would think that they would have something after all this time. I highly suggest that everyone download the Target app because if you do want to take the time to add offers you can save quite a bit of money. I wish they would work like some supermarket royalty cards where each week the discounts were just loaded in automatically and if you bought that product you would get the cash back Instead of having to choose the offer and add it to your barcode before you buy. Sometimes scanning the barcodes of every item before you put them in the cart is just taking too much time and if you haven't planned ahead you may not have all of the discounts available loaded onto your app already but again if you can take a few minutes to load the offers in before or during your shopping it really adds up. Curbside pick up is also a plus and it seems to be very popular. Sometimes I think the people out there working are working harder than most of the inside employees. Maybe it just seems that way because I feel sorry for them being out there in this heat but they have always been very pleasant and efficient to work with and I do appreciate that they have this service available. I did rate four stars because of the availability of some of the things in the store not being what they should be and I have had a couple of times where produce such as the bagged salads weren't the freshest, but this will continue to be my favorite store of this type.
