First off, I'd like to say…read morethat the selection of items are great in store especially since I'm an outdoors gal who enjoys the great outdoors. But that's it. Each time I purchased something that I had to quickly exchange for better size, I experienced a GIANT hassle (with tags and receipt all intact in a timely matter). For example, I bought a pair of hiking boots on sale but when I came back only two days later to exchange (unused boots wth tags still attached) for a half-size smaller, they did not honor the sale price from the original receipt!!!!! I had to pay the difference for the full amount!!!! That's just wrong AND bad business practice. More recently (May 8, 2025), my elderly mom was with me in store and she paid (in cash) for one pair of sandals as an early bday present to me. I came back only one day later to get a smaller size (again not used and tags still attached) but forgot the receipt in the car where my elderly mom was waiting. After explaining this to the two gals working the cashier, they said I had to have receipt in hand so I ran out to get the receipt in car. After coming back only a minute later, I was ordered by the two same saleswomen who originally said they needed the receipt to go to the end of line where I had to wait again. Patiently waiting, I got to the front of the line worried about my mom and the cashier asked for my credit card and inadvertently charged me! I did not notice bc I thought she was politely doing the exchange while I was rushing to get back outside the store. After flying home and perusing my purchases and checking account online, I only then realized that I was charged twice for one pair of sandals, and stupid me threw away the original paid-in-cash receipt while packing to fly back home. This really sucks bc if they check their sales records for both days, then they will realize I was charged twice for one pair sandals!!!! Each instance I asked for the store manager and/or supervisor, and was told that I was dealing with them. I feel like if I called to ask to get my little bit of money back, they will NOT want to cooperate bc sales are clearly more important to this store franchise than helping customers and dealing fairly with them!

You guys need to get a rain on how you manage your employees or if that's your manager I very much feel sorry for this store because I don't see it working out for long-term. I'm just completely disgusted by how y'all allow your customer service representatives to represent themselves and your store because it says a lot about you and what's your low expectations are.

They have helped me find shoes/sizes I need or helped me look on line if I was being picky. Their customer service is spot on. You are greeted when you walk in. They acknowledge you when they walk past you in the isle. The only con is there prices. I have been able to find the same shoes at other stores for less. BUT they often have a BOGO 50% off which is very helpful. Overall worth the visit in. I do love their boot selection right now

The only legitimate shoe store in the area…read more Remember when you used to go to a shoe store & someone would come over & measure your foot, then help you find the best shoe for your needs? Well, the only place I know of that still does that is Clayton's shoes. They've been open for over 100 years! Cool antique shoes and stuff decorate the showroom. No fad shoes here, only the best stuff. Kinda makes it seem expensive, but when you can buy a pair at Clayton's that lasts for years instead of a few months at a chain store, it makes sense. My daughter wears extra wide shoes and the only place that sells shoes that fit her feet is Clayton's. They are always nice & always busy, so don't expect to run in and out, because they take as much time as needed for each customer.

And when I say "tightly edited" also, the store's footprint is small. I was confused when I first roamed into Shoe Fly because, by the name, I thought it was just a shoe store. No, they offer ladies dresses, tops, bottoms, rompers, jumpsuits, and shoes. They have two brick and mortars, one in Huntsville and one in Madison where you will find "unique items in store that you cannot buy online." They offer everything from t-shirts to denim, embroidered shorts, knit pants, midi and mini dresses, and bodycon dresses. Their prices are reasonable, too! Their online selection looks larger than the in-store selection and shipping is free with a $50.00 purchase. Shoe Fly is a fun place to check out, browse freely and support local!

I used to fit in a majority of their tops but now I don't fit in most of their clothes and when I asked if they had a larger size the sales girl acted almost insulted and told me they don't order anything larger than a large. I wear a large in target and kohl's and other brands like that but I can't seem to fit in the large at Shoe Fly. I had a great and helpful experience at the Madison location but still didn't find anything to fit. I'm not fat I'm just curvy with a little tummy but walking into Shoe Fly makes me feel like a hippo. What was once my favorite store is now the number one place I avoid because of how it makes me feel. I wish they were more helpful towards people who don't have tiny model bodies.
