The store was not crowded and the fall merchandise was featured in the front of the store. They had several sales in place and the summer clearance rack was an additional 50% off. The selection was limited, but I was able to find a couple cute things. The try on rooms are nice with a little bench. The clerk put my name on the door. The clerks are friendly and helpful. The checkout clerk offered to check other stores for a shirt I wanted in a smaller size. I bought a couple things. I think if you join their rewards program, you get extra benefits, but I didn't want anymore stuff in my email. It's hard to get nearby parking unless you get there early.

The shop is on the west end of the main outlet complex (on the right side of the street). Inside, the shop looks much like the other Chico's I've been in. The clothes seem targeted towards more upscale/professional wear and for women who have careers, not teens. They do have their own sizing which is just another challenge to guys who like buying clothes as gifts for their wives/partners. Seriously, I think women's clothing stores come up with all these different categories and sizes just so that women can escape for some alone time without their spouses! ;) Anyway, my wife was able to pick up what sizes translate to her and found several items. She also likes that they have a nice accessory area to help complete the look. A decent store for women. From what I can tell, each shop gets mostly different items based upon their sales hierarchy. I have been debating back and forth whether I should post this or not. I've worked in retail in my…read morehigh school days (for 4 years) and understand the concept of customer service. I was taught at all three clothing department that even if it's close to closing time, you cannot tell customers they can't come in or rush them out. We can close the gate so no other customers come in, but if we still have customers in the store at that moment, we still help them. I'm still in shocked at the customer service I received on Monday, May 25th at The Cosmetic Store at the Edinburg Premium Outlet. I walked into the store around 8:48pm. (Yes, I'm fully aware that they close at 9pm but I also knew exactly what I needed in the store. Therefore, my visit to this store would've been a quick visit/purchase. I'm also certain they have security cameras so if my timing is incorrect, their security cameras can be proof) Immediately upon entering into the store, employee #1 (whom isn't pictured) huffed and said, "Ma'am we close in 5 minutes." (Keep in mind it's 8:48ish and No, she didn't even say hi or greet me when I walked in the store.) I looked at my watch and said, "Ok. I have time I just need to grab a mac product real quick." She just looked at me, rolled her eyes, and didn't even reply or say ok, but that's fine. Not even two minute later, employee #2 (whom is pictured) comes out from the back and says, "um ma'am we close in 5 minutes!" Rudely. This is wrong of me but I did take a deep breath, put the Mac Pro long foundation down, looked at her and said, "are you guys trying to kick me out? I heard her the first time when she said the store closes in five minutes." Lady in the video: "No, I'm not kicking you out but we close in five minutes and we get customers who shop after 9pm and keep us here past 9pm. So you need just hurry up and be out in 5 minutes" Me: "Wow, I'm baffled. As a customer you are making me feel as if I can't even shop here and I feel as if you're kicking me out." Lady in the video: "If I was kicking you out I wouldn't said get out! I just said for you to hurry up and be out in 5 minutes because we close in 5 minutes!" Me: "gosh, your alls customer service is horrible. Absolutely horrible! Not just horrible but rude. I just feel you're trying to kick me out so forget it." Lady in the video: "Im not kicking you out but you need to hurry up, you have 5 minutes." (Video provided.) Me: "Ok, but that was rude though. Ok. Very rude. And she was rude too. Forget it. Don't worry about it." While I was saying that, she proceeds to raise her voice to me, "to tell you that you had five minutes?" (Obviously She doesn't think by rudely telling me to hurry up and that I had five minutes was an issue.) I wish I was smarter and thought quicker so that I could record the whole conversation. But again, I'm sure they have video surveillances so the companies camera can vouch for our entire conversation. All in all, yes maybe I should've turned around and walked out when employee #1 told me I had 5 minutes. (Indicating for me to either 1.) hurry up or 2.) get our. But if you're in the retail field, I don't think this is considered good customer service. Anyhow, so if you happen to ever shop at this store, beware of this lady. Maybe bring her a whopper and a strawberry milk shake, it might just make her day slightly better. :) jk

The sales lady approached me constantly, about every 2 minutes asking me "did you make a selection yet?", "did you find something you like?", "have you decided on which one you like better?". I just wanted to be left alone to look around. I realize they make commission but I can't stand the hounding and constant questions. If I have a question I will ask. I don't need someone bothering me and showing me items that aren't even the color I'm looking for. I did finally settle on a purse and wallet. The value seems nice, it feels like sturdy leather but I think it was a little pricey for the size and I didn't even get a cloth bag for storing it

I generally find the smells in the store too overwhelming to spend a lot of time in here, so I…read moreorder on line and then go to the store to pick it up. And herein lies the problem. You have to go to the registers in order to pick it up... So you get to wait in line forever until you get to a cashier. I swear they hire the most unfriendly folks possible for that position. Anyway, so the pick up instructions clearly state to show your state issued ID to the clerk, who will then (supposedly) hand over your purchase. NOT. It is my turn at the register, I present my ID and state my reason for being there. Empty stare. I repeat. After an look which could be defined as hostile she says: order number. I say ok, open my purse to get my receipt for the order number and cashier barks at me to step aside. Geesh lady, get a grip I already have my slip in my hand. So I decline and hand her my slip with the prominent order number in bold on top. This gets me a huge sigh. Well you would think it would be easy going from that point on, but no, she rummages around somewhere off to the side, comes up empty handed, asks me again to step aside cause she can't find it. I politely refuse. Another big sigh and she goes to find another person, who then goes off to the side and within seconds retrieves my order and hands it to me. My question is, was the package going to miraculously find itself if I had stepped away? I was getting difficult to smile, show patience and remain friendly. I do know their job is stressful, but the pick up is along these lines every single time. By the time I get out of the stores my nose is running, my eyes are running, a headache is coming on from all the smells and my allergies are kicking in. There has to be an easier way. BTW, the front of the house staff are all super friendly.
