Took 10-min for the guy behind the counter to stop talking with a friend and help us would have been customers. Then he showed guns that were more than a hundred dollars higher in price that a store across town. If that wasn't bad enough he claimed the price on the gun was wrong and he couldn't sell it for that low of a price. LOW? The price was higher then I have priced it everywhere else and he said it was priced wrong, low. The other thing is I ask if they could give me a better deal as I was buying two guns, his answer was "sells people can't make deals and the manager isn't in". All I can say is WOW, no power, not sure of the price on the guns in the case, and still don't have time for the customers when friends come in... how do they stay open? I wouldn't have know better and would have payed for 2-guns if he had not give me the price was priced wrong bit... The store is great. Tons of selections, it's super clean, plenty of staff, nice range. Their service, their service is dreadful. The prices? Jesus Christ couldn't afford to buy guns here. The range? The rules are a joke. Trust me when I say, go to Derringer down the road. First of all, service. The employees are unhelpful turds. I've never been in here and thought that they were happy to see me walk in the door. None of them are friendly. No crap, they have the rudest staff of about any business I've ever been to. I've heard other horror stories from people about just how unpleasant the staff here is. It's been that way for a few years now. Cost. You're kidding me, right? First of all, if you go online, the prices at the store are typically more expensive than what you see on the website. They say some crap about how their a franchise and some other bull. Just to break it down. A Glock 43 at Shoot Straight is $579. A Glock 43 at Derringer is $469. A Glock 26 G4 is $650 in the store, but $479 at Derringer. Seriously? Derringer is right down the road from you idiots. And they sure as hell will give you attitude about coming down on their outrages prices. Lastly, the range. No double taps? No draw from a holster? Why? AAA in Plant City allows it. $15 for a range fee? They gripe if you pick up the brass, too. Like, kiss my butt (Not sure if I can swear on here or not, but you know what I really said). Well-deserved 5-star rating. Bought a SIG Sauer P238, priced reasonably; compared to online prices. The staff is very knowledgeable, courteous and helpful. I was helped by Courtney and Paco (his real name escapes me at the moment; he tells me everyone calls him Paco). Both of them were extremely helpful and pleasant. The store is packed with inventory. Every pistol I wanted to see and try, they had right there in the store. Their indoor shooting range is clean and well-managed. If you're in Lakeland or surrounding communities, I highly recommend this store; as they certainly hit the target (pun intended) in every aspect of the word, when it came to helping me choose my first pistol. do not transfer out of state firearms purchases here!!!! the transfer fee is $55.00 the regular rate for most transfers is $25.00 to $30.00 and most stores willl waive or lower it if you buy some amount of ammo or accessories not here. this shop is close to my office so i on a whim told my friend to just ship it there assuming it would be the same as everyone else!!!! well,,, yet another time one should never assume. $25.00 lesson learned. and now i will never go back to this store for anything and ill tell anyone who will listen to avoid them also. i have no problem with a company making a buck..... but $50.00 to sign for a delivery is outrageous. $5.00 background check. state fee read more

I have bought a couple of guns from here and have always incountered friendly/knowledgable employees. I was even able to test shoot the gun I was thinking about buying. The gun range is also very nice and they havn't been strict about timing your stay. You also have the option of renting a gun or rifle from them. read more

I have bought several guns from shoot straight lakeland prior... I came to the Lakeland store with the intention of buying a cc pistol and a assault shotgun,, I had a brand new semi auto shot gun that hadnever been shot, I told them that wanted to use it as a trade in on anouther gun....When the manager was looking at my trade, his lackey came out and ask what I was interested in trading it for,,, ( I thought I was dealing with a really bad used car dealer). I replied that I just wanted to know how much they would give me.. After about 20 min he sent his lackey back out and told me 150$( originally 600$) The manager never spoke with me.. I will never buy another product from this store!! By the way I went to another gun store and was given 375$ trade . I purchased 2 handguns and visited the range a few times. Every time I went there the employees were rude and condescending. They did not acknowledge customers when they entered the store. I was informed that this store is a franchise. I received a phone call from the son of the franchise owner this afternoon "inviting me to not return" to that location and he stated that if I posted anymore negative reviews that he would pursue legal action. Well the Lakeland store of Shoot Straight ( a franchise ) sucks and I recommend that you visit any other location of shoot straight than Lakeland. Went in last Saturday for the first time. They had a large selection and the staff was very helpful. Wish the specs were available for the handguns. I asked two employees how much two of the guns weigh and they said "as heavy as it feels in your hand.". I was really looking for an accurate amount. I googled the guns and found out the info myself but would have been better if they could have told me. The range was nice. Very clean and good rules. There was a good respectful crowd there and we did end up purchasing two hand guns while we where there. The guy that my boyfriend delt with gave him a really good deal and the one I picked out was already marked down to a good price. ($56.00 less than listed on multiple websites) Happy we went and cant wait to go back to use the range some more. Especially on Monday! Its lady's day and I get to go with no range fee! read more
