So I went to Universal Pawn and Gun today to browse. When i entered the store the greeting was already cold and ambiance not welcoming. I continued to browse and ask questions. When i went to the register to pay I could not believe the disrespect I received from Mickey - I asked if they have military discount and instead of a polite "no" he went on to tell me "I hate that you guys (military) come in here and ask for free stuff and you bring your own ammo and targets" I told him I'm not asking for anything free, only if they have a discount. He said "why do you think you deserve a discount, i wake up to work everyday and no one put a gun to your head to join the military" at this point I was shocked at his response especially with July 4th tomorrow . I just want to stand for veterans and military as we don't deserve this type of disrespect. Horrible experience! The staff was rude and literally watch me on the camera the entire time I was shooting made it very uncomfortable. I understand safety is important and I'm a big advocate of that, i understand all range rules and follow them but felt like they just wanted to mess with me ( i placed an unloaded firearm down to reload, my barrel was pointing at 1 o'clock and they flipped) so I just left. Came by to try my first time on a gun range with my Dad. My dad, by the way is federal law enforcement and military. Started the paperwork and the staff was extremely rude and hostile. Very bad vibe. We just decided to leave. Certainly would not recommend, the whole was very strange. read more

Do not go here to pawn or sell your items. The owner does not know what he is doing. He looks on eBay and picks something that looks like yours and gives you a low offer no where close to what your item is worth. We had a Gibson les Paul traditional pro and he looked up a Gibson That looked liked mine but was a standard and said my guitar was not worth more than $400. This guitar is like new. They are not comparable to any other pawn shop in my opinion. They are looking to get over on people. They claim to beat other pawn shops. Give me a break not even close. Made my first visit to this gun range on 4/1/16. The staff was courteous and helpful. I spent an hour on the range and I thought the ventilation was every bit as good as the ventilation at the "big box" ranges in our area. Came in a few weeks ago inquiring about a Mosin Nagant. Asked the guy behind the counter about one and he told me he had one. Proceeded to show it to me yet I didn't recognize what he was showing to me. Come to find out it had been modified to fit an archangel stock. In my mind a Mosin is in its proper wood furniture so I didn't really think he had understood me. I question whether that was a Mosin and he looked at me like I was stupid and got very impatient. He then proceeded to ask his Co-worker if that was a Mosin just to be a smart ass about it and sure enough his co-worker said yes. How was I supposed to know it was switched out to that type of stock? You just expect people to know these things. I mean don't get me wrong there's a lot of gun knowledgeable people out there but I'd never seen or heard of such Mosin conversions. He could have at least told me "yeah, we've got one but it's in an Archangel stock" then could have proceeded to explain to me what it meant. Instead he was very unhelpful and plain out rude. I've been here a few times to check out their inventory but no more. Apart from over priced used guns, they've got horrible customer service! Will never do business with you guys. read more

Very nice, convenient and affordable pistol range in the middle of Brandon. They don't charge any "membership" fees, just ask that you fill out a basic information page and verify you are who you say you are before handing you an I.D. card. The range is clean and I especially like that it is well sound-proofed. I will be bringing the wife next time and expect to to punching a lot of paper here in the future. Slightly better ventilation and cooler A.C. (though that is hard to find at any range in FL) would be my only recommendations. read more
