This happened a couple years ago but from others I've talked to, not much has changed. Went to look at a bike they had on sale. The condition appeared good and the price was reasonable -- $200 for a bike that cost $400 new, but looks can be deceiving with bikes. Bearings can be shot, wheels can be out of true and the list goes on. Unfortunately, none of these problems are evident until you ride the bike. Now, I'm no rube. I know there are thieves out there. I'm willing to leave my driver license so if I do skip you know who I am. So I asked for a test ride before buying and showed my license. The guy's response behind the counter? "Put $200 on the counter and you can test ride it all day". Really? That's the best you can do. I went to another pawn shop down the street and bought a bike AFTER they allowed a test ride. I only gave 1 star since 0 stars were not an option. A friend of mine and myself were in this store today inquiring about a firearm, Jim and Jeremy were extremely rude and unprofessional and acted like they didn't care about our us or our business. Obviously we left and went to Shooters instead where we were treated with the utmost respect. I do NOT recommend Lake Miriam Pawn Shop, there are plenty of other places to go where you would be treated as a human being instead of a piece of crap. I have no idea how these people are still in business! If they continue treating people with rudeness and disrespect, they won't be in business long that's for sure. Horrible service! Claimed my diamond ring wasn't real when two local gemologists have proven different and announced loudly that they weren't interested in my "man-made" diamonds. Walked in with the intent to purchase a fireman. A nice High Point 9 mm at a good price. Let me add right now the fact that I have a concealed carry permit and I already own three firearms purchased within the past three months The guy behind the counter he obviously had a problem with my tattoos and couldn't stop staring inappropriately at my wife proceeds to tell me that he cannot sell me a firearm unless I have lived in the state of Florida for six months or more he also went on to mention the fact that I have a very thick New York accent I don't really know what my accent has to do with my civil rights and my wife's but this guy seemed to very adamant about the fact so I went online and looked up the laws and I called around to a bunch of different places that sell firearms everyone seems to agree that my Rights have been infringed upon. I never thought I would be profiled when walking into a pawn shop especially by someone who was not well dressed nor well-versed needless to say I won't be going back there. I don't recommend anyone else go to this place that obviously has prejudice and does not know how to treat their clients or potential customers I probably have a pretty strong case against them if i would choose to take it but maybe if enough people read this post and take their rights seriously They will find another place to purchase their firearms last time I checked there is no amendment that states unless the store clerk doesn't like the sound of your voice or how much Jewelry you wear The only requirement is that you be a resident of the state and pass a background check this man had no right nor did I give him any reason to infringe upon my civil rights do yourself a favor and find another place read more

It seems this place likes to deny the purchase of firearms by anyone they don't like the looks of, or the sound of, or the color of, so on and so forth. There are dozens of complaints on the internet about these guys mistreating and being prejudiced against their customers. Can't imagine how they keep their doors open in a free state like Florida. Everyone behind the counter here looked poor, was dressed poorly and had attitudes as if they don't get paid enough to work there. I could understand why they would have felt envy when I walked through the door wearing gold chains, and expensive clothes I know racism and envy is the way of the south, especially when it comes to us "Yankees", we did win the war after all, but that's no reason to infringe upon my rights, and people who would do something like this should not be allowed to stay in business. If you've had a similar experience here let them know that it won't be tolerated. read more
