This place isn't terrible, but it's not outstanding either. It's your typical sports bar. It's usually always super crowded. It's seat-yourself, so you have to kind of stalk a table that looks like it may empty out soon. I sat on the bench side of the tables along the front wall. I was not impressed with the gross that was behind there. It didn't seem to have been swept or mopped in quite awhile. Servers are nice, but you can tell they have regulars that they favorite, which is fair enough. I like special treatment at my regular hang out also. My only complaint with this was that the place was super busy, and I feel like the non-regulars were not being taken care of. Everything is very reasonably priced, and the food is pretty good. I'd come back here again when I'm in the mood for a cheap sports bar and low expectations. read more

I read a few reviews of this place before going. They were mostly good ones so I gave it a go. First thing I noticed when I walked in was that there was nobody in there trying to tell you where to go, sit where you want, nothing. Few waitresses walked by without a word. They might want to put up a sign or something telling folks what to do. Eventually we seated ourselves and put in the order. We ordered smoked sausage, half slab of ribs, fried ribs, potato salad, and onion rings. Let's start with the sausage. It was flavorful and not overcooked, so that's a good start. The ribs were next. The regular ribs also tasted pretty good and had good flavor. They were also cooked well and not overcooked. I hate "fall off the bone" ribs, and these didn't. They hsdca good bite to them. The only bad thing about them was that they were fairly cool to the touch. Flavor good, temp not so much. The fried ribs were also good and were not cold though. The onion rings were pretty good with tasty dipping sauce. Unfortunately, they were also not hot. The potato salad was pretty good and cold, which I was hoping they would be. LOL. Overall, the food was pretty good, better than I was expecting actually. If they can fix the whole "Welcome to Shooters" thing and ensure that the food was all hot, I'd give it 5 stars easy. But for now it will just be 4 stars. But definitely go check them out and see for yourself. read more

A 'once in a while place' I may visit if in the area (my hometown), or if it has been a long time. The thing to try is the fried ribs--honestly, the app-sized portion is plenty, being pretty rich and expensive. The burgers are solid. Sides are ok. The staff is mildly attentive at best. At worst, it seems they'd rather be someplace else, and the feeling does not convey that you are a welcome guest--more of an annoyance. I had a sweet little blonde girl named kendyl as my bartender today and she was amazing. Not only did she deliver my food and drinks with a smile but a great attitude. Shooters is a great local bar and restaurant. This is a great place to watch a sporting event, have some drinks and order amazing barbecue. I highly recommend the deep fried ribs, this is the only place I've ever had them. I always order the deep fried ribs when I visit. We ate at Shooters this afternoon (06/23/2024) around 4:30pm. Shooters had been recommended to me by co-workers on several occasions, so we decided to give it a chance. We walked in, and stood there for a decent amount of time before someone behind the bar shouted from a distance and told us we could sit wherever we wanted. So we found a table, and sat there for probably 8 minutes before being greeted by anyone, while three employees were sitting at the table right behind us rolling silverware into napkins. So we are in the restaurant for a good 12 minutes total without being greeted by a server, which wouldn't really be much of an issue if the restaurant was particularly busy, but it really wasn't. I ordered the buffalo Shrimp Po' Boy with onion rings and sweet & sour cole slaw. My wife ordered the cod cutups with potato salad and onion rings. The pictures of the onion rings we saw on Yelp before ordering looked fantastic, and they came to our table looking just like the Yelp pictures, so I was excited, but they weren't good at all. For some reason the onions were really really hard and far more difficult to bite through than any onion ring ever should be. They definitely need to be cooked longer even though the breading looked fantastic. The hush puppies were decent. We both liked them. The potato salad was good too. I also enjoyed the cole slaw. My wife said her cod would have been much better had it not been cooked so long. It was also really hard. My shrimp po' boy was alright, but nothing to write home about. Not something I would ever order again from there though. In fact, this is probably not an establishment we would ever consider revisiting in the future. We were extremely underwhelmed as a whole, which is disappointing because we love trying new places. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who has to drive a good distance, like we do, from Mount Vernon, when I could tell people to go right down the road to Peel instead. You really can't go wrong with any of the smoked meats! Enjoy a cold beer - plenty in the bottle and they just installed a new digital draft beer menu (it's not connected to the web or untapped, but it'd be awesome if it was). Also, they could use a happy hour deal on Friday's with some food and drink specials. It would bring me in more often. If you like ribs and bbq, this is your place. Good drinks. It's a sport bar and a noisy place. Great salads if that your choice and with good smoked turkey. We actually order out and come here quite frequently. We Sat down and after watching the waitress, I believe that eventually, she said her name was Lisa, walk past us at least 4x, stand at the table where her friends were eating, laughing, looking at phones of her friends, walk past again, ignoring us each and every time. This didn't really bother us, we just figured ok well this must not be our waitress. Well to our surprise, in the fifth time of walking past us, 25 mins later, she comes past and says she'll be with us in a moment. Not a good start. She eventually took our orders. After about 35 minutes, and sitting there once again, watching our waitress laugh and have fun with her friends some more at the neighbor table, we got a "walk-by" asking us if we were ok. We said we will be when we get our food. She preceded to tell us it wasn't ready yet. . My thought was....how would you know? You've been standing at your friend's table for quite awhile now. Magically, she went in the back and within 4 mins our food was out. No further visits from the original waitress since she now recruited her coworker to handle the remainder of our visit (Ali S). Not everyone can handle being in the customer service industry. I will never visit O'Fallon without coming to Shooters for lunch! I loved everything about it - from the spot in Downtown to the diverse crowd it was great. We ordered beer and the nachos made with house made potato chips to start and it was so delicious! I knew I needed some sort of vegetable so I ordered a house salad with Brisket and it was excellent. My friend and I split the two items and easily took home a whole 3rd portion after both being stuffed. Shooters is in the perfect location, especially with all the great ball players who grew up in the local area. Shooters has some of the best BBQ options outside of Kansas City. I know good BBQ and good options. I know good sides and good prices. Shooters checks all of these boxes and is a great spot to catch a game. Shooters has very knowledgeable people who frequent the area. They are some of the most impressive people I have ever met. I don't plan on drinking in public ever again, but I do plan to catch a game, get more BBQ and bring some KC people in for a taste testing, getting their feedback on my opinion of the place. I like being able to get a good meal that makes me feel like I'm back home. Keep in mind when you go to this sports bar, you have former athletes who all know their sports because they lived what some of us dream of. read more

We were asked if we wanted to order food or wait, we asked for a few more min, waitress came back at 9 to "check" on us, we said we need to put our order in. Fun fact, the drawers behind the bar are because it used to be a HARDWARE STORE! The building was first built in 1928 and the hardware store closed down in 1999! This restaurant did a great job of keeping the nostalgia while also modernizing the facility. We sat at the bar and the service was too notch. Our drinks never went dry and he was super polite.
