I do love shooters and there are 2 things holding the rating back from being 5 stars, but let's talk about the positives first. The indoor and outdoor ranges are great. Their gun selection is huge and they're always stocked (even summer 2020 when many places did not have much stock I was able to purchase what I wanted from them). Their prices on their firearms are also very reasonable. Each time I visit I'm helped by a different employee and for the most part they're all kind, helpful, professional and do really take the time to talk to you throughout your purchases. They're not just a gun shop and you'd be able to holiday shop for anyone in the family with all of the different products they carry. Ammo prices are high here. I understand ammo prices industry wide are high but if you have some patience you can order ammo online for cheaper even with paying shipping. There is one employee who is rude and condescending and I will never go through a purchase with that person again. With that being said, shooters is a great place to purchase a firearm and I recommend it to all of my friends who are looking to purchase, even for the first time. Coming down from the Brick area, we were extremely impressed with the size of the store when you walk in. (The shooting ranges and 'stores' in Lakewood are so small and not very friendly - even intimidating!) Shooters staff are always very friendly especially the ladies. The gun selection is enormous and well organized. We bought a rifle there previously and came back to try the outdoor range, watched a quick video, got our card and walked out to the range. Bill was very patient with me and my two adult sons, we all have guns but are considered novices. The outdoor range was fun, stick with 50 yards!!!!! (bring a scope, spotting scope or binoculars), and Bill came over often to offer suggestions on gun handling and care. Overall, we are very satisfied and don't feel a need to go anywhere else. This is a supermarket, if you will, for shooters and archers too. It is modern and clean built generously with real wood. I happened to be in the vicinity and Shooters is only 1/4 mile from the Parkway. They sell everything that a shooter could want from Carhartts to gun safes including a pretty extensive gun inventory. Although prices seem pretty high from what you'll find on the internet, sometimes it's nice to be able to ask questions and get advice. A shooting range is part of this complex. I went in to browse but ended up buying a small gun case. The sales people are friendly and helpful but don't bug you if you are just looking around. Stop in. It's a nice experience. read more

I don't shoot so this is based on the merchandise only. This place is jam-packed full of great items. I appreciate a good Carhartt product and buy casual coats for the winter from this brand. Purchased a handgun from them. Went in with several problems with the firearm. They said there was no problem with the handgun. Went back and stated that there were several problems still with the handgun. Was informd that there would be a smaal price to send it in (even though it was still under warrenty. It was out for almost a year. Keep ckecking, and would get a long story back. Well finale recieved it back, and was just not interested in using it agaain. Never used it and attempted to trade it in. First time visitor. Drove one hour to use the indoor shooting range. Very large store with a great selection of guns. I've been to numerous gun stores in Jersey, and this one has the largest variety of brands and models. Many different gun counters. I've been shooting for 30+ years, and have visited many ranges in Jersey. I would rate the indoor gun range a 3 out of 5. There are a few issues that, if corrected, would make the range a great place. 1. Storage - there's no place to put your targets, bags, coat, or ammo box. The range only has the ports with a single counter in each one. Suggestions: install a long cabinet the full length of the back wall. Divide the space up so that each port gets a designated space. Each space should have a large bottom area for bags, coats, ammo box etc. Also include 2-3 shelves to hold extra targets and small items. On top of the counter, attach several Mag-Lula loaders for customers so they can more easily load their mags, and put a sign up letting shooters know that you sell them as well. 2. Port Shelves - add a shelf below the existing one so shooters can place gun cases, ammo, etc. on it, and free up the main shelf for the primary gun and not risk knocking something off the shelf. 3. Target Trollies - they are old and SLOW. While I was there, my trolly got stuck twice and the RO had to yank on the cables to free them up. Replace the entire system. Install a modern, smoother operating system with preset distances for easier target setting. Consider the small touch screens, which are easy to use. No need to hold a manual switch to send or retrieve your targets. 4. Signage - when I entered the facility, I did not know where the range counter was to sign in. Place a sign on a post directing shooters to the right rear of the store for the range counter. I had to ask someone where to go. It's a small issue, but would be helpful. As far as the store goes, I was impressed with the wide variety of items. As an example, if you need a gun case or gun rug, you will definitely find something to fit your needs. There's a ton of stuff here, all in one store. Prices are very competitive. Close to Amazon prices. Ammo prices are quite high. Stick with online ammo retailers for better pricing. Check out gun.deals, SGAmmo.com, GunPrime.com, etc. I did look at two guns at the gun counter in the center of the gun room, and a gent in his 30's helped me out. He was friendly and informative. I did read all of the negative Yelp reviews regarding unhelpful staff at the counters. Customers should keep something in mind. Although the workers are there to help you, try and do your homework before going to the store. Make a list of a few guns that you want to handle and check out. Read reviews online and watch some YouTube videos to help narrow down your choices. Now you're ready to visit the counter and handle a gun. A small percentage of people actually buy a gun on the first visit, which I know can be a bit frustrating when a worker has to show the same customer many different guns. You may say that that's their job, but be considerate and value their time. The sales people will be more than happy to help the customer that has a general idea of what they're looking for, and came with info to help them narrow down their choices. Overall, I recommended this store. I'm planning a return trip. Don't be scared off by the negative reviews. Form your own opinion. Do your homework. Know your prices. The website does not state that you will need a gun license/permit in order to enter the shooting range and I inquired via email and it was not mentioned. I bought a few handguns and rifles from them over the past few years. I just picked up a Daniel Defense AR10 and they pinned the stock at the furthest extension, almost a 16" LOP, without ever bothering to ask me where I wanted it. This is not a cheap rifle. Not only did they pin it, but they removed part of the stock and also epoxied it in place. Wasn't happy. Now I have to get it removed and a new one installed. Maybe you should ask someone where they want the stock on an almost $3000 rifle. read more

Communication on range is poor. Safety rules are good but the Range Master over reacts to much which confuse and intimidate shooters. The right thing to do in a situation is to stop the line and calmly explain the infraction if any to shooter, correct the situation and then move on. There they don't do that. They would rather shout over the gun fire expecting you to hear with the earmuffs and then get angry with you. I won't be going back. After posting a review the Manage told me she had me banned from all other local shooting ranges in the area for things that just didn't happen. Really, think twice before going here. As a combat veteran and former military police officer, I have the utmost respect for safety when it comes to handling firearms. I have had the displeasure of seeing the unfortunately outcome when people become careless in regards to the basic rules of safety. During a recent visit to the store with my wife and son, I turned around to find out I was starring down the barrel of a rifle from 5 feet away with my family directly behind me. The clerk behind the counter was showing a rifle to a customer, and in doing so, was holding it in the position you would when firing the weapon, and the barrel was aiming straight at our faces. The #1 rule of firearm safety is muzzle awareness, it was ingrained in me from day one to always treat a weapon as if it were loaded, and I would expect the same from a store that sells firearms. I understand mistakes happen, and it's human to become complacent over time. However, I think the ownership needs to give a refresher course on safety and respect to the employees. I will continue to do business here, and if this unacceptable practice never repeats itself, I will come back and update this review to the 5 stars that I believe this store has earned in every other aspect. However, if this continues to be regular practice by the employees, I will introduce myself to the owners/management, express my concerns, then exit the store and find another place to do business. read more

I would say Shooter's is the WORST shooting range in the state. Every single time I go there, employees are rude and not looking to help anyone. I tried giving them one more chance and recently went to use their range as it's closest to me. The Range Officer Wayne is one of the rudest people I have ever met and will not leave you alone, every time you shoot, he has something to say. It was not just me, everyone there had a problem with him. He berated me for bringing my AR into the range when it is clearly allowed. It was freezing and I wanted to use the indoor range and he talked down to me as if I was wrong for doing that (other people were shooting ARs as well). I wasn't even there for 10 min, I had enough of him being aggressive towards me and everyone there and left. On my way out I went to complain to the "manager" Brielle. She was just as rude and said they don't like ARs inside. I said "then don't allow them in the indoor range." She told me to be quiet and to not give her an attitude. I was kind and respectful the whole conversation. She was not the same at all. She strongly defended Wayne and I said you could ask every single person in there and they would agree with me. She smiled and said I could just go somewhere else. Not a single bit of remorse, an I'm sorry, or anything. Really sad as I've spent a lot of money here. Not anymore..... Don't waste your time here. Range 129 in Absecon or Shore Shot in Lakewood are the better choices. Just say you had a bad experience at Shooter's and they'll say, "That's what most people say." read more

They tried to be slick and adjust the pricing on the original gun that I liked and told me it was sold. I had a hunch something wasn't right so I went down to the store and ask for the same model handguns they had left. They didn't realize that I had the serial number of the original gun and was checking if there was foul play. The gun was still there and they changed the pricing the following day. Because of the False information they gave me originally I decided to make a different purchase. Once I realize what they did and confronted them about it and gave them the opportunity to match the original pricing they declined to make it right. So I got my money refunded back. I will never spend my money with an unethical company. That being said be careful as they would rather tell you an item has sold you were looking at and sell you the same item for more. Service and selection is great but the range and prices are terrible I've been to almost every range in NJ and Philly looking for the "best range" in my opinion. Went to shoot here and the RSO make you feel like you're a burden shooting there doesn't make you wanna go back to shoot they roll their eyes and sigh under their breath when I asked for a cease fire to check and swap my targets out at the rifle range. Thought the pistol range might be better but they're very anal in there as well I went to help my friend who's a new shooter develop a proper grip and was screamed at for doing so I understand safety in the range I've been surrounded by firearms all my life I understand the safety standards we strive for and there was no reason for that reaction when the firearm is unloaded mag on the table and the fire arm slide locked back, why is it a problem for me to show how to hold the handgun before they shoot or any ammo was introduced. I was berated and screamed at for 4 min for this "offense" idk better ranges out there by FAR and they'll charge you less too. Also they didn't honor their blue label price for me when I called in to purchase a Glock over the phone told me $500 when to the store they tell me $660 this place sucks and I wouldn't waste my money there just window shop read more

Unfortunately I can only give 1 out of 5 stars because you can't make a 0 star review. After many many times people telling me not to come here because the people working at Shooters are very aggressive. Multiple times with the same guy inside the firing booth, "WAYNE" is very aggressive towards everyone when shooting. When you're about to fire he stops you in between every set, controls the way you have to fire your weapon (only Wayne's way), and bothered everyone else at the booths as well. I then went to make a complaint respectively to Brielle, who is supposed to be in charge. After making a complaint to Brielle she responds to me with "if you don't like it, don't come here anymore." I went in to purchase a Bow so I went down to archery and met with Roger. He seemed very unprofessional with his customers and besides that he had no patience for someone who was new to the sport (me). He tried to sell me a Bow over 2k immediately and said I had to buy it before I try it. How does that make sense? I did not feel welcomed at all. I saw my time to exit when he was ringing another customer up and I took it. I went to another shop and spent $1,500 for everything I needed to get started which included a Hoyt Bow, case, arrows, release, and few other items. Shooters is a brand new business for outdoor enthusiasts and sells a wide array of handguns, rifles, fishing and work gear. They offer an extensive line of Carhardt hoodies and outerwear in general as well as hiking and work boots (Red Wing etc.. steel-toe and reg.). The retail space is huge, dedicating one large room to apparel and another to a firearm shooting range and gun sales. The employees, regardless of the department, are all very helpful and pleasant in answering any questions posed. They also have an archery range and sell compound, recurve and cross bows. The range is very reasonable in price as it's $5 for the bow rental and the lane rental is $15. We went on a Friday afternoon so there was barely anyone else on the range but I'd imagine this place is hopping on the weekends and evenings. They also offer archery lessons by appointment. The clothing and work gear runs a little higher than I've seen it elsewhere but they are so well stocked that you may not mind paying a little extra for the convenience of having such a comprehensive selection. read more

There aren't that many ranges around especially with indoor/outdoor ranges, so I guess they think they have you by the.... $400 for the indoor/outdoor membership seems very reasonable but $40 to take a look at what you are getting for your money seems criminal. I was there at 9am on a Tuesday, not one shooter on either range. I offered to pay $20 so that I can see what I was getting for my money and was denied. The building is beautiful, and the store is well stocked, but you don't shoot in the building, you shoot in the range! Furthermore, if you are a new shooter just forget this place. This was my second time visiting. The first time I felt the same way but figured maybe they were having a bad day or maybe I was! My second visit was no different. Condescending is an understatement. Since I had over an hour to travel to their location, I called them to inquiry if they had a particular brand of shotgun shell and load during a sale that was on. I was told there was no way to tell me if they had it and that whatever was out on the floor at the time was all that was available to purchase until they bought out the next pallet. Love this place. Help is there, you just need to ask. I love how I can just walk, take my time and no one is up my ass or pressuring me to do anything. Great selection and staff is well knowledged. I was asked if I needed any help when I walked in, I told him I want to look around and he said let him know if he can pull anything out for me. When I was ready he was with another customer and another employee, who was doing something turned and asked if I needed help. I did and he put what he was doing to the side helped me and answered every question I had. This is a professional place and know what real sportsman's want. You want someone to follow you around and give you no space? Go somewhere else. After spending several thousand dollars there over the last few months I was picking up two firearms yesterday. And looking forward to filling future handgun permit I seen a 22 revolver that I liked which was in the case and was not sold if it's in the case so one hour before closing I decide to make the purchase online and secure the gun. I only did this because I was running short on time and my shift was coming up to care for my dying mother. So I went over to the counter to let one of the clerks know and the guy got snippy with me because he asked why would I do that when I'm already in the store. This gun has been sitting there for a few weeks and now all the sudden my purchase was refunded to me almost out of spite because of this cocky little troll , didn't like the fact that I purchased a gun online while at the counter. I guess maybe he should have asked me why I did that and then I could have told them where I had to be was a little more important.
