It all came back after 30 years away from shooting.

Wow, one of the most impressive safe ranges I have seen. I'm an expert shooter, ex military and I was very impressed. I can't wait to go back!

AMAZING experience!!! First time shooter, first time even holding a gun and I can honestly say I have never felt more confident, safe and ready to use a hand gun. First off - WOW, this place is awesome. The facility is A1. From the moment we walked in the whole staff was so helpful, attentive and hands-on about every aspect of the process. We went in, signed all our paperwork and as first timers we immediately went in for our introductory class. After class, we chose the gun we wanted to shoot and had a private lesson on loading, handling and the safety process for when on range. We chose our target, grabbed our amo, our protective gear and met our instructors. While on the range, they made sure we were holding the guns correctly, our stance was firm and guided us throughout our whole time there. I CANNOT wait to come back and try our rifles next!!! Thank you to everyone at the range, incredible staff, beautiful facilities, and for making me feel super badass... yet safe.

Came here with my fiancé. It was my first time at a gun range. I was nervous but I did pretty well! Everyone who worked there was really nice and made me feel at ease. My fiancé was the one who made me nervous because he thought I was going to freak out! We got there when they first opened on a Saturday and spent a couple of hours there, it got really crowded! I'm glad we got there when we did. I would definitely come back!

Came into Range 129 for the first time on Valentines Day with my best friend and we had a great time. I have been to a few indoor ranges before and a few outdoor. Range 129 is indoor with a pistol range and a rifle range (and an archery range too!) The inside lobby is spacious, clean and offers a wide selection of guns to rent and buy. Upon walking in we were immediately greeted and felt very welcome. This really made all the difference in our experience and is something very beneficial to first timers. I personally own my own handgun so I had that with me as well as my own ear and eye protection, ammo etc... We purchased some pretty cool targets to shoot and got some included with our hourly time slot as well. We chose to rent a rifle also so we split our hour by half in each range. Before we could shoot we had to watch a 15 minute safety video that was totally painless to sit through. Started with the hand gun and was very comfortable the entire time shooting. There were range officers present to ensure safety or should we need any help, tips, pointers, etc. We ended our hour in the rifle range and while both my friend and I have shot rifles before we weren't comfortable operating one on our own. Chris, one of the range officers stayed with us the whole time showing us how to properly hold and shoot the rifle. He really made our experience great! Overall, we had a great time from start to finish and I'm even considering becoming a member myself! Highly recommend to experienced shooters and rookies alike!

Nice place but ammo is way over priced. Better of buying from ammo seek or bass pro shop.

Take one rainy Saturday down the Jersey shore, and sprinkle in six friends on a girls weekend, and you will get a great memory to take away like an ornament on a Christmas tree. That's right, this is how we greeted RICK, all decked out in our matching pink shirts. I can only imagine his initial thought on the hoard of 50 year olds walking in the gun shop that day. His open mind to teach, inform, and educate us on proper gun handling and safety was not wasted. He took his time with each of us and the firearm of choice. He didn't stop there as he passed us off to fellow workers, DON and BETTY. They eased us into our shooting stalls, one with a 9 mm and one with a 22 caliber. Instructed our group to be each other's support system. IT WAS FREAKING AWESOME!!! As much as the word shenanigans came up, we keep a professional demeanor in the range. We would never jeopardize anyone's safety or disrespect our teachers of the day. At the end of our time, Betty showed off the hatchet range with the delight. When I grow up, I wanna be Betty, a gun shooting ,hatchet throwing retiree. Giddie Up. Till next year Thanks for the memories.... The Berlin Besties Al, Jenn, Stef, Barb, Cyn, Jen

I finally became a member ($275 for the year and a guest costs $15 per visit) and I couldn't be more excited to have a more local place to shoot. The membership includes multiple different outdoor ranges, the longest being out to 300 yards. My first trip after becoming a member was on a Wednesday after work. It was a beautiful day so I figured it would be busy on the range. We arrived around 5pm and there were no other cars. The range is separated from the main building entrance by an electronic gate that members scan to unlock. The gate opens providing you access to the range parking lot. There is a sign in sheet inside that you access from the back of the building. This is also the room you'd drop your money envelope in if you brought a guest. The ranges were clean and spacious. The rules are clear and easy to follow. There are also reminders of the rules posted in the ranges. We shot for an hour and enjoyed ourselves. My first visit was a very positive one and will beat driving an hour to get some range time in.

I have been a member at the range for over ten years. This was the second time I brought my son along. Today will be the first and last time I am subject to this type of treatment. I have asked for a refund of my 2017-2018 dues which have already been prepaid. There was apparent confusion about what "unsupervised" and "unsupervised shooting" meant. I left my son sitting next to an unloaded firearm, with the action open while I went to my car to recharge my dead cell phone. My son was instructed to not touch the firearm or ammunition until I returned, which he acknowledged and followed the instructions. Before I could reach my car, 30 feet away, I was attacked by a screaming lunatic bully. This lunatic was a man I recognized, and had had a pleasant conversation with in the past. The person in question at one point in the past had even given me instruction on how to field strip one of my rifles, for which I was very appreciative. Today, however, was a different story. The level of verbal abuse I received was beyond comprehension. So much so, that I felt the biggest danger to myself and my son at the gun range was this man. His anger was such that I was not sure if he was about to resort to physical violence. He was inches from my face as he screamed that I had disrespected him. I indeed felt threatened by him. Needless to say, in order to not provoke this madman further, my son and I proceeded to pack up and leave the range as quickly as we could. As we tried to leave the range, we were again accosted by the man who claimed my son was not a member and was not even welcomed at the range. My son is, indeed, a paid member who for safety reasons will never set foot at telco again. I have no reason to put my son at risk. I have been active with the NRA for approximately 30 years. That being said, I am always open for any input regarding increased safety with regard to firearms. Had I been approached in a civil manner, I would have graciously followed any instruction or suggestion. I have no chip on my shoulder, and nothing to prove to anyone. To be verbally attacked and screamed at by this lunatic makes me suspect he may suffer from a psychological condition, or may be suffering the affects of dementia. In my opinion, quite dangerous when firearms are so readily handy. I will continue to enjoy the shooting sports, but will continue my pursuits elsewhere. Very Truly Yours, Anthony Leska

I used to be a big fan of The Gun Range because of their friendly staff and their policy allowing outside ammo. As someone who buys in bulk from Cheaper Than Dirt, being able to bring my own rounds makes this hobby much more affordable. Unfortunately, my last visit with my son was a major disappointment: Shotgun Ammo Price Gouging: We brought a new Boss 25 to break in, only to be told we could no longer use outside shotgun ammo. They quoted me $48 for a box of 25 shells. For context, I buy 250 shells online for $86. That is a massive markup. Misleading Safety Claims: When I questioned the policy change, the manager claimed it was due to a fire caused by "faulty shotgun ammo" at another range. I looked this up while waiting; the fire she referenced was actually attributed to faulty air filtration, not ammo. Poor Customer Service: We bought two targets but only ended up using one. When I tried to return the unused, unrolled target, I was told it was "unreturnable" because it was rolled up--despite the fact that the clerk was the one who rolled it when selling it to us. A private business has every right to change its policies, but they should be honest about it. Don't hide behind safety excuses to justify inflated prices. They've lost my business and my trust.

I saw them interacting with people that were clearly first time shooters and they seemed very nice and helpful. As someone that was clearly experienced, they didn't ask me a lot of questions, and just gave me the information on their range protocol and I was good to go. I went on a weekend and it does get busy. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a lane, which really isn't that bad. I appreciated the fact that you can bring your own ammo with a few restrictions such as in rounds, tracer, steel, core, etc. Nothing too over-the-top, and all very reasonable. I did not buy any ammo there, so I can't comment on the prices. The range rental fees are for as long as you like to shoot, which is very nice. They have a number of handguns and long guns for rent, the only restriction there is you must use their ammo and you must have at least two people... For some reason, they will not rent a firearm to single shooters. The shooting positions are a little narrow, but are absolutely fine for two people. There is not much room behind each position, especially if there are many people on the range, so keep that in mind. It is good to note that since they allow a wide range of calibers, you may find yourself on a line with people shooting long rifles and large caliber handguns. If you're a first time shooter, or don't like it crowded, I would strongly recommend going during the week. They have extended hours until 9 PM every day, but Sunday, which is great. The Saturday that we went the range was completely full, and some shooters were shooting large caliber rifles, as well as a few people had full auto or maybe they rented them. It's definitely a little overwhelming if you're not prepared for it!
