Horrible customer service. You pay for shipping method and they choose a cheaper shipping method and keep the extra cash

My first experience at this shop was the day I arrived to Fayetteville after relocating from florida in 2018... I have been a regular here ever since. My first experience, they helped me get situated with a holster, ammo pouch, defense ammo, and a weaponlight. I'm a loyal customer and have been shopping here since that day and have never had a single issue. The staff is always helpful and smiling and ready to help you with anything you may need help with. They helped me and my wife get her first SBR and helped us through the entire process. The staff there is very knowledgeable, competent, and awesome all around. Their gunsmith is pretty good and any projects I have that he has the tooling for, I give to him. It was hard to find a gunsmith I trust but I can't recommend these folks enough! Having never been inside the storefront of Shooters Supply, I'm in no place to review or comment on it, however... I spoke with Dave this afternoon on the phone regarding the transfer of a shotgun I was ordering from them, and I couldn't be happier with the professionalism. He was quick to answer my emails, pleasure to speak to on the phone...and eager to earn my business. Prices and shipping were a little better than expected and they're dealers for a lot of great gear/gun companies (big shocker being just outside Ft. Bragg). I give these folks 1.75 thumbs up. They don't get my 100% because their website just plain sucks! I'm no rocket-scientist when it comes to web-design...but I'm thinking you would have to try extra hard to make a website as useless. read more

I stopped in briefly today after seeing an advertisement earlier. OK selection of gear: lights, barrels, rails, knives. Plenty of used handguns at tempting prices. That is until you actually look at some of the weapons. I looked at several pistols and the used weapons were heavily used, very dirty, scratched and nicked - nothing I would feel comfortably about buying. One of the store employees then showed me some new weapons, although I have to say, I've never seen a 'new' pistol have rust on the barrel and gook and possible carbon build up inside the action. I asked several times if the pistols that I was shown were actually new and not mislabeled as used. I was assured that they were 'new' and that they had simply been in store for a while. I guess... I've been in many weapons stores and have never seen rust and possible carbon build up like I did here. I understand some grease on a new pistol but this is very different from what I saw. Not trying to bash these folks because they did seem friendly and they have a decent yelp rating, but as someone with fairly decent firearms experience, I would strongly caution potential buyers to inspect before buying and know what you're getting when it comes to the pistols. read more

In short: Know what you want and be prepared to pay the cost of convenience, comparatively excellent and diverse selection, good customer service for sales. Ive been coming here for about two years and have a pretty good idea of what to expect. Pro's: -They have a good variety of high quality parts, accessories and firearms. I know not to expect deviation from MSRP. -Employees are generally pleasant to work with and are not pushy, but they're there when you need them and mostly know the products. They have some truly good stuff in there. Dan and Storm hold it down. -In house gunsmith, John, does good work, based on the basic jobs I have asked of him, mostly installing trigger guards and bolt catches without damaging the finish. Positive experience here, he will take care of you. Con's: -MSRP on about everything, don't expect any deals or sales. -The only problem I have had with the shop was within the last few weeks. Dropped off a gas block and barrel to be pinned, and was told it needs to be done by their machinist off site, but they have done the same exact job for me twice before and was excellent. So far so good. Quoted me a couple days and a call on completion, and ended up taking two weeks due to medical issues with the machinist; no problem by me. The problem arose when a $40 job the two times before was charged as a $60 job this time around, and a complete lack of communication on their end to keep the customer informed throughout the unexpected delay. Things happen, but under delivering and then price-hiking is poor business practice. Aside from that, I'll likely still recommend them to my friends, but found myself let down by that experience. read more

Shooters Supply is to be commended for their integrity and genuine respect for their customers. Due to consumer demand (and hysteria) many weapon and supply stores have opted to to gouge customers and cut corners on customer service. I recently had an issue with a delay in an AR build and Shooters Supply and they went out of their way to make it right and then some. John provided his personal cell phone number and messaged every update. Shooters Supply made my purchase a positive memorable experience. The store has obviously adopted the customer service philosphy of a well known computer company whose name I am not allowed to reference in Yelp! Their only negative is unlike the aforementioned computer company they lack a viable webpage. They have everything a buyer would want, low prices, weapons knowledge, and excellent customer and a call will result in a "real person" willing to assist. However, a webpage with a search function would be helpful. Regardless, I am Shooter Supply fan and I salute John and others for their professionalism and excellent job of representing Shooters Supply and the shooting community. read more

Worst customer service and most unprofessional owner I've ever done business with! I'm a retired MSG and have 25+ years within the USASOC community. I've spent well over 5k in the shop and in return expect reasonable customer service. My first mind blowing experience was the purchase of a ZEV Dragonfly Glock 17. Beautiful gun but it had a defect. The gun either had a bent seer or the firing pin was sticking. Had some friends from the "Unit" check it and they confirmed my suspicions. The gun would fire two to three rounds with a single trigger pull at least once per magazine fed. I'm experienced in shooting and this was not a bump tap or any other possible cause. I read ZEV's warranty and it specifically states that within 30 days, a customer may return the product to the retail place of sale, with no explanation and receive a full refund. I contacted ZEV and they confirmed this. Went to Shooter with receipt and all original packaging. John, the owner told me he wasn't a ZEV dealer, therefore he wouldn't honor the warranty. My GT score is 127 so I thought I'd help him out and read ZEV's warranty too him. He agreed he was a retail place of sale but refused to honor ZEV's warranty in anyway! I was flabbergasted! John's an ASSHOLE and incompetent! I resolved the issue with ZEV but I expect merchants to be honorable and professional. Shooters is neither. Didn't do business with them again until yesterday because it was directly on my way to the range. Bought ammo and a scope level and then asked about the Surefire TLR1. Price 179.00. I asked the young employee to ask John for a discounted price and although he supposedly gives a military discount he refused to lower his price at all. A simple 10℅ would have been acceptable. As the employee came back and told me no discount, I overheard John tell two soldiers that he would give them a military discount on their purchase...WTF!!!, John knows I'm a retired Master Sergeant, not to mention a 100℅ disabled veteran! I told John to pound sand, that he was an Asshole, and I'd never do business with him again! Brothers, spent your money at Jim's or Jerry's! Bought new Ameriglo fiber I-dot sights (GF-401). Got them cheaper than from the ameriglo website and they put them on for me. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. The sights were put on perfectly. I would come back here again. read more

Uneducation staff! I spical order a piece of equipment paid in full,cash. Said it would be in with a week. No one call Me, so I made a few calls to ask about it " it's not here yet" was all I was told. I go in to get a refund and it's on the shelf to be sold. Not a happy person. Went in to get some guns nothing done on my AR-15. A simple handrail swap. Turns out I had a few issues with my upper receiver and my barrel but threading. They worked with me and swapped a few things out free of charge and walked out the store with minimal charge for the labor. John did fantastic work on my rifle and couldn't have had a better experience. Highly recommend anyone looking for some work done on their weapon or shopping around to stop in. read more
