Super excited I made a pit stop here when in town from upstate New York. Although they didn't have a huge selection (due to shipment delayed from covid), I still was able to find a tee I wanted which is sold out online. I plan on buying another when they stock up online. Bought some shirts for Christmas gifts in November. Went to wrap them right before Christmas and one of the shirts had a round mark on the back of the shirt. Had to return it. Was there on 12/23. One person working. Website showed that they had the shirt but was told that was for online only orders. Had to chose something else. 5 customers in store waiting for the one employee to get sizes items out if the back stockroom. One if the gifts logo on front of shirt was not centered. Very obvious when worn but not when inspecting the item. Poor quality control & lack of staffing. read more

Not quite sure what I did wrong by going in here. I was loving the vibe of the place and really enjoy that they spin their own music. The set up was nice. Airy even. Didn't feel too confined in there and was easy to browse their inventory. I went into the store because I've been wanting one of their 412 shirts. Can't for the life of me figure out why they only had XS and XXL sizes in both styles. I searched all size piles they had out. I was getting a complex and had to leave, either I'm too fat or too skinny for their stuff. I can guarantee that I would have bought a shirt upon stopping in, but my size was unavailable. Nice little store similar to Time Bomb in Shadyside. Lot's of New Balance, Nike, Huf, Clae, Undefeated, Stussy, Kid Robot etc. Lots of clothing that you can't get anywhere else. Not a recommended experience. Shop 412 has monetized Pittsburgh's 412 area code and the pride of the city of Pittsburgh numerous times, including its price-gouging "SHALEIVE" shirts which netted the shop cash while it donated "a portion" of the profits to charity. Furthermore, Shop 412 has attempted to challenge the use of even the plain text numbers "412" in places such as the helmets of the Pitt football team, claiming infringement on their intellectual property. Though the apparel they provide is at best mediocre, their business model is at best abhorrent. read more

this new Location just opened last night. Love the clothing they have, brings a fresh style and culture to Pittsburgh while incorporating what it is to be from Pittsburgh. They guys who run the place are funny and charming and always willing to show you something you might have not seen before. I adore the vibe and the pieces they've brought out to the people of PIttsburgh. This stop is definitely a one of a kind kinda place. I personally like the "412" logo on shirts and i own some my self. Sometimes they offer a limited run of certain items that are cool but sell out quick. This store is a tad expensive but the product it's self is made of good material. I can't say I'm a fan of some of the other things they offer in that style but it definitely caters to more people than others. The layout here is clean and well kept. The same guy working is always pretty nice and helpful if you have any questions or looking for a certain size. The shop is located in southside works by the Cheesecake Factory and rei and some other big name stores. I enjoy stopping in here but it's not a store that really makes me venture out of my way just to make a stop. And parking can really be a major pain as sometimes you have to park blocks away so that's just a heads up for any visits that you plan to make. read more

I really like this store because of the uniqueness of all of the items they have, but I also believe that the stores exclusivity is also its major flaw. They stuff they have in here is great, but it is pretty pricey, and they don't always have the size you need. But when they do and you are willing to pay an extra penny for it, you will be happy with your purchase. The atmosphere is pretty trendy too. Being located in the heart of the South Side Works, it matches perfectly with the upscale, high-end feel. Finally, I love their original t-shirts and hoodies with the notorious 412 symbol on it; however, if you take a champion hoodie and throw 3 numbers on it, it is still just a champion hoodie. That being said, I cannot see myself paying $70 for one. read more

Literally made the local college team change part of their logo because they have a monopoly on the 412 area code symbol. The local college team just put 3 numbers on their helmet representing the cities area code. Everything this company said about representing the city and their pride for local teams is just a PR stunting to get us to spend our money there. I will never again and I encourage all that I see to do that as well. read more

The company markets well but their products are always low quality. The hats are sloppily embroidered. A $60 hoodie arrived and was nothing more than a Hanes sweatshirt with a cheap screen printed logo on it. The string constantly falls out when I wash it and the zipper broke the second time I wore it. The other t-shirts I own are the same cheap screen printing that quickly cracks and peels. Their business practices are also questionable, as they won't allow the University of Pittsburgh football team to have the number 412 on their visors until they make an official "412 X Pitt" business deal. 412 is THE CITY'S AREA CODE. They claim to be all about the city but they're clearly all about the paper. Shop at Steel City Brand clothing for a true community shop that pumps out quality apparel. read more

This is a great and up in coming brand in the city. They also have some good mainstream brands too like Nike, New Balance, ect. The 412 brand represents so many things to so many different people. To me, it represents the greatness of the people of 412. Their loyalty and hard working attitude is unmatched. I really love Pittsburgh and the best way to do so is to wear the trademarked 412 shirts. Recently, they have just partnered with the food bank and am giving away part of their profits to charity!! How cool is that! It's a small shop so sometimes they don't always have my size, but there is a lot a cool stuff to choose from. read more

I have ordered several times from here. If I still lived in town I would go there myself, but since I do not live in the burgh anymore, I must depend on online ordering and it being delivered. The one thing that had always bugged me was there was no options for delivery....and normal delivery has been so slow. Before St Patrick's Day this year, I ordered the green 412 shirt. It promised me delivery by March 14th, but then it did not come. It arrived on the afternoon of St Patrick's Day even though I had ordered it well in advance. I did email the store to tell them about it and was told they would be sending a package out to me for the inconvenience....4 months later I am still waiting. read more

Although their merchandise is unique and great quality, ordering online is a nightmare. A month ago, I ordered my husband a t-shirt, and our baby on the way a onsie. After two weeks within ordering, I still did not receive an email of confirmation or shipment. Next, I "tried" calling the store. When you call their phone number listed on google, it says that the mailbox number is no longer in service and that the number is no longer in service. After a couple of days, I emailed the store and they never replied. I finally got ahold of a representative of the store yesterday. They told me that they haven't checked their online orders in weeks, and they have been bombarded because the Penguins won the Stanley cup. Our order was sitting in que for almost a month. They apologized and said they would ship out our order today with a shipping confirmation, which NEVER happened. Not sure who is managing the store and online orders. For a small business, its pretty pathetic. Hopefully their phone lines will go through tomorrow to see what the additional delay is getting my merchandise. I will shop again IN STORE ONLY. read more
