I have a little house - 2 small bedrooms, 1 bath, small living room and kitchen. Upstairs is 867 sq. feet and my den is half that size in the basement. I do have dogs. I was quoted $200 for a DEEP CLEAN and $90 a week for a weekly cleaning. I was going to try them out to see if they were good before using them on a regular basis. I had family coming in for a surprise visit and I didn't have time to clean it all myself for my grandkids to be crawling around on the floors and everything. I'm also a disabled veteran so there's a lot of things that I can't do. To me, deep clean means everything . . . windows, doors, shelves, kitchen cabinets, baseboards, etc. Well, I was wrong. I had to ask them to help me get things put away in two rooms. It took less than an 30 minutes for both rooms. Their idea of organizing is cramming things in boxes and stacking them in corners. Same in the kitchen. I had told them that I would take care of the dishes but to make the house look "clean", everything that didn't make it in the first dishwasher cycle was thrown into the sink of dirty dishes. My sterilized sipper with medication in it was tossed into a greasy crock pot along with a little brush sweeper and dust pan. Their idea of mopping was sticking a mop in a bucket of water and not wringing it out - just slopping water all over my real oak hardwood floors. Only the dust was removed - the dirt was still there when the water dried up so I had to remove and then polish the floors with Murphy's Oil Soap. When they got here, I told them I would take care of a few other things to make sure they could get all the floors cleaned and everything and still they didn't do a "deep clean". They even charged me an extra $40 for "organizing" the two rooms. I spent the rest of that day and most of the next cleaning baseboards, dusting, doing the windows, cleaning the appliances, the kitchen cabinets, cleaning out the dust and dog hair in the bathroom corners and under the furniture in the living room. It took forever for the basement floor to dry and I hope that water on the hardwood evaporated and didn't soak in. They were in such a hurry - they only spent 2 1/2 hours here. Arrived 30 minutes late at 10:30 and left at 1. Not enough time to deep clean a CAR. And they called to ask me if I wanted them to come again. I said "For $48 an hour per person? No thanks!" read more
