A minute later the man shouts at me again from across the store, this time I see him and he chastises me first by saying when I first said hello i was trying to tell you the price like I'm some kind of child of his needing to teach me how to be polite. Sorry, you can greet customers all you want, but that doesn't mean they have to greet you back and then when you mention it when all they want to do is shop in peace, it just creates an adversarial situation. So, no, I won't be back. Also, the two workers were loudly talking about how overworked and underpaid they were. They didn't even care if they were overheard! Very unprofessional and gospel music and talking about god on the radio, no thanks.

Torrid caters to women sizes 12 - 28 with shoes that range up to a ladies 13. With their own sizing style, the shop tags clothes with a Size 0 to a Size 5, depending on your measurements. Being on the lower end, how exciting is it to say, "I bought a skirt in a Size 0." All women agree, this is pretty stellar. The salesladies at Torrid are always friendly, no matter if you're just browsing or looking for something specific. On my most recent visit, Megan helped me look for sizes in corsets, set me up with a fitting room, and also pulled a few other corsets in different colors that she thought I might like. The dressing rooms are bright and spacious with ample room to change clothes. Each stall has a dry erase board with the customer's name written on it for a more personable experience. Florence Torrid always has an ample amount of stock, and a clearance section that fills one-third of the store. Be sure to check it out to snag a deal. Regular prices are somewhat high, but the store always seems to be running a sale. I ended up leaving with two gorgeous corsets for just under $30.00.

If you're aware of the Beacon Food Mart, it's tucked behind it in a very small strip within a neighborhood. I stopped in with my toddler for the 3rd Birthday Celebration. They had open tie dye, chalk art, a live DJ, food truck and vendors. Although the celebration isn't every day, you can still find most of these activities throughout the week. Open Tie Dye is posted on their Facebook page. $15 if you buy one of their shirts, $10 if you bring your own. You get to choose what design you want and they'll help you fold it. It is then up to you to put your colors on! Once completed, they send your shirt home to set for 24 hours. Follow their instructions and you have a cute new one of a kind shirt! I like that they soak the shirts beforehand in a special mix that opens the pores of the shirt for dye. Thank you for the lesson!!! The ladies helping out are lovely! They also have ready to purchase clothes ranging from baby onesies to adults. Also, draperies, cloths, crocheted items, magnets, body care. It's a small shop with a lot of personality. Definitely worth a trip to the open tie dye days!
