Alejandra who appears to be a supervisor there opened asked if I would like to open a flare account with Metabank. I did as I work only steps away from Ace Cash Express and was new to the area. I was given temporary debit card, a routing number and account number and some literature on the account. Unfortunately, either myself or my payroll company had the wrong account # in the system for my direct deposit and when I got paid again 2 weeks later, the funds kicked back to my payroll company. Since I had to wait over the weekend, I attempted to get a cash advance at four separate cash stores. They would not accept an advance stating that my account was a prepaid account. The next week, my company sent me an advance on my paycheck for $1,500. It was a Citibank check off of a company account. I went to Ace Cash Express to deposit some of this check in my Metabank account and get some remaining cash. I was first asked that they needed to talk to my CFO who wrote the check. After they talked with him, they refused to deposit the check. Then Alejandro called someone in the corporate office and when she got off the phone, she said it was approved. But when the other attendant, Maira attempted to process the check, it was once again not approved. She then said I had to wait 20 minutes Maira was unable to handle the transaction since they attempted so many times but Alejandro was now on her lunch break and couldn't do anything until after her lunch. I came back about 40 minutes later only to have Alejandro now tell me she couldn't cash the check because "corporate" would not accept it. She told me I could find out the reason by calling the corporate office. I called the corporate office and could not getting an answer. The woman on the phone stated that I needed to email my complaint. I looked at the slip only to see that Alejandra entered the wrong check # so my thought was maybe this is what was causing the error. I went back now a 4th time out of my workday and once again my check was refused. I then went to Valley Republic Bank, not far from the Ace Cash Express Delano location and opened up a checking account and got back the cash I needed. They handled my business extremely polite and professional with little questions asked. I went back to return my temporary debit card with Metabank to Ace Cash Express and requested the account be closed. About a week later, I received a permanent debit card. I called to find out that I still had a negative $3.00 (in addition to the fees paid on the original paycheck that I cashed) on my account and after explaining all of the above, the woman on the phone wouldn't let me close it unless I paid the $3.00. I went to pay the $3.00 to Ace Cash Express to end this nightmare! This was only the second time I dealt with Ace Cash Express in my life. The first time, my electric bill was paid twice out of my checking account causing my account to overdraft. I do not recommend Ace Cash Express for any services whatsoever and will never deal with them again! Richard Ford
