My wife opened an antique book on the table whose cover was already detached -- clearly old damage -- and it fell off as she opened it. The owner immediately stormed over and began berating her with an attitude that can only be described as hostile and condescending. She snatched a tiny piece of paper off the floor and inferring it was a "sign" warning customers not to touch -- insinuating my wife had somehow knocked it down. Then, dripping with sarcasm, she sneered, "Will that be cash or card?" while trying to force her to buy not only the already damaged book but the entire set. As if that wasn't enough, the owner followed us around the store like a hawk, glaring and muttering under her breath. When we finally decided to leave, she actually followed us outside -- screaming obscenities, calling my wife a vile name (The "C" word several times), and cruelly insulting my daughter's appearance even though my daughter had nothing to do with the incident and remained quiet. As we were leaving, I could distinctly hear the owner sarcastically tell us: "Be sure to go on Yelp and review my shop!" Thank you for the suggestion, Julie, I'll take your suggestion. From reading other reviews, it's clear this isn't an isolated incident. This owner has a history of being rude, aggressive, and completely unprofessional toward customers. I fully expect Julie will attempt to respond to this review by defending or excusing her behavior--perhaps even further revealing her behavior. I suppose we'll see. Prices are sometimes better than one of the other auto parts stores, and are almost always genuine replacements, and not OEM equivalents. The staff is knowledgeable and courteous. I've had them offer to replace wiper blades, batteries and other easily changeable parts - but half the fun is doing it myself. There's a great selection of tools and aftermarket equipment for those who really like to get their hands dirty. She said "we can engrave for free and see how it turns out, it might be very small, but if it doesn't look good, I can always order another ring for you." Those were her exact words. I did not ask her to engrave the ring. She asked me if she could try the engraving, saying she wasn't sure if it would be too small. I figured that she was being honest and agreed to let her try. Guess what? It didn't turn out good at all. In fact, I would need a magnifying glass to see the name she engraved on the ring. Since she was not in the shop when I tried to pick up the ring, I asked the lady that was there to have Laura call when my reordered ring arrived, since I was not pleased with the engraving. Today, (2 weeks later), Laura, left me a voicemail saying she "didn't want to be unfair to herself" and pay for a new ring so she would provide only HALF of a refund!!!!! I am baffled by this lack of professionalism. It was made worse by the fact that when I tried to return the call (within one hour of her leaving the message), the number was not taking calls. I went online and saw that it was her business telephone number and it was during the hours that her business was open. Sad situation all around. Over a 50.00 ring! I will never shop there again and advise you to do the same. Dishonest and unnecessary aggravation!!
