so basically, my boyfriend bought me these gel polishes and I can't use it. We had the receipt for it perfectly fine. We went at the counter. The lady told us to go to cosmetic after the cosmetic lady said she was busy than we went back to the other lady waiting at the line again for eight minute we found out she could have helped us the entire time. Wow. Then, when I asked about my refund, she looked at me suspiciously and said the receipt had already been refunded -- basically implying that I had already used it. Why would I be asking for a refund on something I supposedly already refunded? It made no sense. I told her clearly that I had not redeemed it yet, but she kept insisting that she already processed it, which she didn't. After going back and forth, she finally said she'd call someone else. And then we had to move out of the line and wait another 15 minutes for help. It was hectic, time-consuming, and honestly unnecessary. All I wanted was my refund. When another lady finally came over, she handled everything perfectly in just a minute -- no issues, no confusion, no attitude. Meanwhile, the first lady who claimed it was already refunded was argumentative and had a lot of attitude the whole time. I don't usually complain, and maybe I just caught her on a bad day, but the experience was disappointing and a complete waste of my time. I don't recommend dealing with her if you can avoid it. read more

Using Kingsway Shoppers Pharmacy for years, but they have been losing prescriptions, then notifying me they are ready to pickup. One clerk told me to call before even if I get notification they are ready. This is not just a single occurrence but several where they lose prescriptions. A pharmacists rechecked and found the prescriptions but it took them over an hour to fill. I think a change of drug stores is in order. Probably just get them filled at my Doctors clinic pharmacy. read more

The head pharmacist Ryan when asked what i could take because i had severe pain in my arteries in my neck said that in a couple of weeks I could go and ask my doctor for an ultrasound on the arteries but in the mean time take Voltaren on my neck for pain. Well Ryan being a pharmacist KNOWS that all the prescription drugs are fake told me this. I trusted him put on the gel I got severe rapid breathing in my throat. Only until when I was going to kill myself my mom read the literature on the Voltaten causing rapid breathing when put on the skin did i immediately wash it off with plenty of soap in the shower. Too late though the effects will last 3 weeks or longer. Why are the pharmacists being paid when the prescription drugs have been fake since 2023? I cannot walk or breathe due to the medications i take and want to kill myself. Stop taking their prescription drugs. They're no longer real. Take a look at their cheap packaging and the bottles. I will say that the cashiers here are good. I have heard several people complain about the snooty ladies in the cosmetics section and I have experienced it myself. They think they're working at a high end department store, but it's Shopper's. Even clerks at other Shopper's have remarked about how poor the staff at this location is. But the kicker was when a woman from cosmetics suggested I might want some self-tanner. Did I ask for self-tanner? No. Have I ever used self-tanner? No. I am fair and I have accepted that. I felt it was very racist of the woman. I am fine with who I am. I'm sorry that someone that works with the public was not fine with the colour of my skin. Yuck. read more

Not my favorite store in the chain, but it's location is convenient. The queues are always too long. I like the cosmetics ladies the best. I don't like the post masters. Not fond of the pharmacy. It's also in a dumb part of the store and clients have no privacy. The grocery is very good. The cashiers are excellent. Books are good, but magazines suck. If you exit via the rear doors of the store, they think you are stealing. I'm sure it's a tough place to patrol. I see cute mall cops running in there all the time. read more

I understand that running a business is complicated, and that are bound to be mistakes made. A few things should be mentioned though: - I have been prescribed medication that increases the likelihood of Diabetes, which I have now acquired. The pharmacy didn't advise me of that (so I could take extra precautions), and rarely gives details on what to expect with medications. - They provide delivery service, which is nice. However, when deliveries have been missed there is not consistent follow-up (such as a phone call, by either the delivery driver or pharmacy) to arrange for another delivery time. I had medication so I wasn't concerned, until I realized they hadn't sent out my delivery on schedule. - A parent also gets medications via Shopper's. And routinely has mistakes. However, that parent receives a half dozen medications. A little more care in ensuring the right medications go out would be appreciated. Otherwise, the store seems fine. I haven't noticed anything else which bothers me enough to mention. But the lack of what I consider due diligence in dispensing medication and ensuring patients receive proper maintenance care is no good. read more

Nothin against the store, really, but the pharmacy has really gone downhill. The ownership has changes hands several times and I'm not impressed with how things are handled now. Requests aren't handled well, calls aren't returned and special orders aren't filled. I'm also intolerant to fillers in a lot of generic drugs, and they always lose the notes on my file and constantly fill the wrong kind of pills. As for the postal outlet, it's very hit miss. Most of the time, it's slow and the service is abrupt and rude. Many improvements are needed. read more

I have nothing but good things to say about this Shopper's. I've been a regular for about 5 years now. The pharmacy staff have been wonderful, as my husband and I both have tons of prescriptions that need filling. Once my former (idiot) doctor even tried prescribing a variant of Erythromycin (which I am extremely sensitive to), and the pharmacist caught it and let me know so I could tell him to change it. I've never forgotten that. She's extremely sharp, and she's still there. Another time, I needed enough supply of a very important drug I needed to take, and I was going to be on a 2-week long trip. The pharmacist let me know WHICH day I should call so it would clear my insurance and still give me enough for my trip. The only complaint I have at this location is the one guy who is ALWAYS working the postal counter. A geek with long blonde hair, who believes he is far too intelligent for the rest of the human species-- he's rude, insults others, and he's a total douchebag. I'm convinced this job is the only time he gets out of his mother's basement. It's gotten to the point where if my husband and I see him working we'll just leave and try somewhere else. read more

There's just something about being treated like a criminal that typically turns me off completely! This is your typical run of the mill Shopper's Drug Mart, conveniently located on the lower level of Kingsway Mall. I use a particular brand of powder make up (Cover FX) that not all locations carry - this location does. This brand is kind of pricey at $40/container that runs out, for me, every 3 to 3.5 months. But I love it, and for me to spend that kind of money on it, you know it has got to be great. Not that I claim to know anything about all natural make up, but this one says it's made with natural minerals - sounds good, right? Also, ever since I started using it I have many people comment positively about my skin. So I go in and walk down the make up aisle until I find my brand, then my particular colour code (M30). I found it behind where the sales associate was standing helping another customer - giving information about the same brand I was looking for. I said excuse me, smiled at them, grabbed the make up, and proceeded to walk away to continue my shopping (just need a few other soap type items). I get about halfway down the aisle when the sales lady stops me and tells me she can help check me out but she is alone (and helping the other lady) so it will be a second. To which I reply that I just had a few items to grab first and I would check out when I was done. That is when she took the make up from me and said that she would have to hold it at the counter until I was done. Feeling offended and embarrassed (as this happened right in front of several other customers) I gave her the make up and left the store. I can understand, if this property has had theft issues in the past, taking extra preventative precautions. However, in my opinion, there are better ways to handle this that does not involve making someone feel discriminated against because of their age and/or appearance - or whatever it was that made me appear to be a untrustworthy individual (security tags, more staff, a visibly posted company policy outlining that all cosmetics must be purchased before leaving the department). Put the more expensive items behind a locked, glass case and provide some sensitivity training for your employees. Not being one to make a fuss I just left - but what I wanted to say was what exactly are you trying to say to me here - are you saying that you think I am trying to steal this?? Because of this experience I will not be back to this location. I am starting to realize that it is just best to stick to what's familiar - I have never had a similar experience at the Shopper's in Sherwood Park and the staff are pleasant and helpful. read more

Every time I visited Shoppers Kingsway Mall locations, I felt bad. I do not know if they being trained how to deal with the customers. Especially, the pharmacy staff. Most of them are so lazy and arrogant. I haven't met anyone there who could answer or assisted professionally. And that is why, I do not want to transfer buying my prescriptions medicine. The post office staff are very rude and condescending. The pharmacy is always behind and you can wait hours for a single prescription to be filled. I've dealt with the manager twice and both times he was also heavily condescending (I see where his staff get it from), talked to me like I was too stupid to understand him, and attempted to blame other staff members instead of just dealing with my concern. People shop lift without even trying to hide it and the loss prevention people - who suck at going unnoticed by the way - don't bother making any attempt to stop them, but they follow elderly and disabled people around harrassing them. Also it seems like all the cashiers are always new and in training, so your checkout will be quite slow. read more
