My rating is 3.5 stars…read more After work last Thursday, I wanted to pick up some hand cream for my mom. She had cracked skin on one of her hands for at least a week. The hand cream that she was using wasn't healing a thing. I found one brand that seemed promising while doing some research online. The site said that it was available at this particular Shoppers Drug Mart. The store was conveniently on my way home from work. Then again, I cut across most of the GTA, so I pass by a ton of stores! This store is in a plaza. There seemed to be a Food Basics or some green-painted grocery store that has closed down. Shoppers Drug Mart is in the corner further down. The parking area can be a bit chaotic. It's an older plaza and the lanes are more narrow than what I'm used to in suburbia. This store has been here for a while. It has everything that you'd expect it to have, including a grocery aisle. I walked every aisle and could not find the hand cream that I was looking for, which was disappointing. However, there was a Gold Bond one that was on sale. It has been approved by the Canadian Diabetes Society. It has proven results. It was also on sale. I bought it! I dropped the cream off at my parents' place. My mom said that she would try the hand cream out immediately. This morning, I spoke to my mom. She said that three hours later, she noticed a huge difference. She no longer has cracked hands. Nice! She asked me whether she could pay me back. Hearing her say that this product works is all that I wanted. The lone cashier at this store was friendly and made sure that each customer was okay. She helped out a senior ahead of me. I liked the care that she showed and the help that she gave. I'd come back here again when I'm in the area. (157)

Doesn't matter what it is, it is like a right of passage that on any shopping quest, I MUST first step through it's sacred sliding doors into the soft scents that can only be the cosmetics section (rereading that I think I may need some help......) In all honesty, I do think this is a great retail environment and not only because I seem to always need what shoppers has to offer. They really have it right on the retail environment. The layout is great, the visibility is amazing (it's always the brightest store) and the staff is friendly enough. It has everything and the mix of retail and pharmacy is great...what else are you going to do while waiting for the pharmacist to mix all the magical potions and call on the gods to create that coffee syrup (ok I'm not crazy but sometimes I do wonder why you have to wait for your prescription when the doctor wrote down the exact amount and the type...is it the handwriting they are figuring out...it's got to be so we have to shop around right???)? In any event, I am possessive about this shoppers and glad that I got to review it first. If you're ever in the area, stop by, because I swear this specific shoppers has...everything......

It's located in a plaza with a No Frills. There was plenty of parking. I backed into a spot and walked over to the store. It's clean and spacious. Its layout is similar to fairly modern SDM stores. There was a lonely Squishmallows hanging out with Ty plushies. It was a nice find, but I wish that there were more Squishmallows! This store had a good selection of Grogu items. It made me happy. I ended up getting some Diet Coke, ibuprofen, a bottle of roasted peanuts, and a small bottle of Crystal Pepsi. The last item wasn't on my radar. It occurred to me that I've never had it before, likely because it's supposed to taste like regular Pepsi and I know what that tastes like. I got it to say that I've had it! I went through the self-checkout. It was straightforward and easy. I had my PC Optimum barcode scanned from my phone and paid with a debit card. The transaction completed without a hitch. I didn't bother getting a plastic bag. I carried my items to my car and fetched a reusable bag from my car's trunk. I liked visiting this SDM. If I'm in the area again, I'd drop by. Aman is a real gem gave me an earful about how busy it was and they have to serve customers first. I was on hold so long i drove over to the store listening to him and his jargon. I walked in on hold 45 m later no one picked up my call. I had asked him can't you just walk over and get simone to answer my call. But he laughed like a smug PR. Checkout the picture attached. Boy they were busy. Aman was looking for his crayons.

This is a mid-sized Shoppers. It has all the depts like pharmacy, food (fresh, frozen, snacks,…read moredrinks), household items, vitamins, personal items, makeup, magazines, greeting cards, etc. The store is well-lit and clean. They also have self-checkout and full-service cashiers. Both have plexiglass. I used to frequent this location back around 2012 when I used to see a chiropractor nearby. I'm ashamed of my…read moreneighbours for their lack of consideration for the more vulnerable among us, but even more upset with the store for allowing people to give in to pandemic-driven hysteria, and buy a butt load of T.P(pun intended) on a more positive note they are stocked with mouth wash, deodorants, body-wash, shampoo and gift cards. I walked this time and the street level entrance which indeed allows for contactless entrance into the store, given you use your imagination that is. I used my hip on the handy capable button to open the entrance, and witnessed a person use their cane. I might add the entrance/exit not unlike the store it's self lacked hand sanitizer, something that I found available practically every other shopping plaza I visited, not their fault but their management should put pressure on property management.

The pharmacists there are really helpful, and if you have any questions or concerns of what to purchase, they give you a helping hand. I like that when I have a prescription medication, they take down your info and text you to remind you when you should pick up your next batch of prescription medication.

This is not actually the location that the following took place at. The following occurred at the…read moreShoppers Drug Mart at 25 Industrial street. This location is not on Yelp, or I have not found it, so I leave my review here. Bought a lipstick on sale to match a discontinued lo colour that I'm running out of. It didn't match. So I return to the store for a refund. When I arrive, there are three ladies representing the cosmetic department. They are in a tight circle, chatting away, none facing the entrance. I mosey up to the counter. Finally one of them sees me and comes over. I explain to her that I am looking for a match to my lipstick, and suggest that maybe, after my refund, she can help me find a match. She seems to be following along, as we joke that it's always the way: you find something you like and then it gets discontinued. The phone rings at the counter. One of the other women on staff is right at the counter, and could have / should have answered it, but, no. The woman who was serving ME literally insisted that she "can take it" to the other lady. So, here's lady number 1, with me, now taking the phone call. I am, at this point, incredulous. But it escalates as far as the poor service. As lady 1 is counting my change, handset cradled between her ear and shoulder, I put out my hand for her to put the money into, and - wouldn't you know it? - she puts it on the counter. Of course she does. So I look at her, and think " are you trying to be a jerk, or are you just not that bright?", which is what I say to myself when someone does something I can't comprehend. She continues chatting to whomever is on the phone, and I say to her "that's ok. I'll go find a colour to match my lipstick myself.", and I begin to walk away, feeling completely UNSEEN. As I walk away, she starts to apologize, saying that the call was urgent! I say to her, from about 5 feet, that when you NEED to answer the phone when you're with a customer, you tell that person on the phone that you're with someone and you'll be with them momentarily or that you'll call them back, or you'll get someone to help them. Let me say that I am well aware that there are greater troubles in this world than matching a lipstick. It is the absolute meaninglessness of me as a customer that makes me upset. It is SO easy to be kind and accommodating, and that is what customer service is. I called the store when I got home. I spoke with the manager. He said he was going to speak with the cosmetics manager. But he didn't ask me my name or phone number. So, I guess that's the end of that.
