Getting inside, the foyer displays a sign of it being under remodelling. The store wasnt extemely busy but steady flow. I found my select items to include great selection of picked out flowers. This area has a higher population of Asians therefore, I believe my product was at this location. I went to checkout and within 10 minutes I was out to resume the rest of my day. Sometimes driving to select areas provides for a variety of options that other stores lack.

I attempted to return a few items, and the store manager processed the return in a way that felt unnecessarily confrontational and humiliating, especially in a very crowded store. I was questioned in a manner that singled me out, even though Trader Joe's is known for accepting returns if customers are not satisfied with a product. What made this more upsetting is that I have personally witnessed other customers return items without being questioned at all. I won't mention who. It appears that management selectively decides who to scrutinize, which feels unfair and inconsistent. I contacted corporate to address the situation, and while the store lead did follow up, there was no real accountability -- only explanations and excuses for the manager's behavior. No acknowledgment of how inappropriate the public interaction was. Additionally, some items sold in the store are marketed in a way that seems healthy but contain ingredients that are far from it, which adds to my growing concern as a customer. I expect professionalism, consistency, and respect -- especially from management. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. Representing local DMV runner-up for the letter A for 2021, A is for Aldi. This is my local Aldi to where I live since November 2020. For over 5 years, I've gone to my local Aldi in Corridor Marketplace. Aldi is a mix of good & bad. Like a lot of grocery stores, I have my share of compliants with many of them. In terms of my options within a mile of my home, I have Aldi, Shoppers, Wal-Mart, & Target. For quick comparison, I don't like Shoppers and may at some point get to giving a 2-star review of them. Wal-Mart has issues too, but they have the most variety, so I sometimes go over there. Target isn't very good for groceries as it's more limited. Aldi is good and best price, better than even Wal-Mart, but the downside is options are limited. For convenience, I much prefer going into Aldi than into Wal-Mart, but Aldi doesn't always have everything I'm looking for. So, it depends on what I'm looking for to determine which grocery store I choose. And if I'm in another area, I'll go to Lidl in Columbia or Harris-Teeter in Laurel (but I don't like going to Laurel Town Center in general) or Fulton, or other various stores. Although I had been to an Aldi prior to me living over here, it was quite rare as it wasn't convenient. When I first went in to my local one in late 2020, I was in sticker shock at the low prices! That was great; although prices have certainly gone up in the past few years, Aldi remains much lower than other stores on average including my local Wal-Mart. The low prices is their strongest aspect. Since the store is relatively small, it's easy to get around and a less stressful grocery experience than Wal-Mart, Wegmans (another huge grocery store), or even a standard grocery store. Aisles are well organized and pretty easy to find stuff. Some negatives are the produce is hit or miss in terms of the quality. And the other day, I was annoyed they only had organic blueberries, which were more expense. So, Lidl in Columbia got the win for the blueberries this past time. In general, they've been in good stock for things. Meats aren't a wide variety, but I make do with Aldi has. Dairy is a mix of good & bad. When egg prices got really high in early 2025, Aldi remained much lower than others, so I flocked to Aldi just for eggs. But now while Aldi remains the cheapest for eggs, it's only a small difference. One area where Aldi is lacking is turkey bacon. Their one variety of turkey bacon when in stock is very expensive, so Wal-Mart butterball turkey bacon, or other grocery stores will get the win on turkey bacon. Some of their yogurt has aspartame, which is bad, so I get the ones without, but their have their brand (the more expensive kind without aspartame) but still cheaper than even Wal-Mart. They have some Chobani yogurt, which I like but is no value here. So, if you want variety for yogurt, Wal-Mart is a better bet. Another thing is Aldi has a lot of their brands and may not even offer an alternative or limited. For example, you want potato chips, you can get a couple of the name brands but at a not so great value, or you can pay like a third of the cost for their "World famous" Clancy's chips. But Clancy's is just Aldi chips, but they don't want to put Aldi chips, so they come up with some nice name like Clancy's to get people to buy. I used to enjoy their kettle chips (close to as good as Cape Cod), but the last couple of times, it was too salty. I recently gave their Ruffle chips a try. Wow, those are amazing, better than Lay's Ruffles or any other ruffle chip I've ever had. More of a negative is checking out. Sometimes there's just one checkout lane open, and the line has been backed up 10+ deep. They try to do a decent job quickly getting a 2nd lane open, but that's hit or miss. Also, it's a bit chaotic and should be more clear signage on where people should stand in line. For example, when there are 2 checkouts open, I never know if they want people in 2 lines, like one coming off frozen food side & one coming off that next aisle, or they want all the people standing in one long line. It's confusing, and they need to do a better job of making it clear because people end up getting ahead that shouldn't get ahead. Cashiers themselves are generally pretty nice or at least cordial, better than most grocery stores. Also, it's very rare they ever get the price wrong, but like at any grocery store, I ALWAYS check the receipt before I leave. In summary, I'll keep coming back to Aldi for the convenience & low prices, but I don't have the highest expectations.

But, also, they carry Greek, Spanish, French, Portuguese and other ex US products here which makes it fun to shop here and uncover new treasures! This store has limited edition section and it was fun to browse that as they have some European items that looked quite interesting, most Greek & French products. I took a look around their frozen section and even saw they had some frozen escargot (snails), which was super interesting for me to see! I didnt get any this time around, but may get some when I am back home. They also have lot of fresh flowers and plants for sale here and lovely to see these options for sale! My only gripe about this place is that everytime you come into the store, the fresh produce section always looks like a disaster and the floors super dirty. I wish they would clean this area up a bit better and make it more visually appealing. How hard is it to remove some empty boxes, mop the floors regularly and arrange the produce in an orderly manner? Id definitely come back again and always there is something interesting to discover.

This whole process took longer than if I would have done myself. When I was leaving I asked why he checked my items at self check and was told he was trying to move the line. There was no line before I got there or when I left. Customer service was very disappointing. I worked@grocery stores for 20 years and understand how they work and that was just rude.

The only major shock that I had was buying hot food and bringing it at home. The sticker shock on my food had me frozen and stalled for a moment then I got passed it. The breads are beautiful; I've spent more time standing in the aisle than I should have just looking over stuff. Do not go to the grocery store hungry that's a general statement for all grocery stores, but particularly Wegmans. I was walking down the aisles planning in my head how big a sandwich I can make or should I go to the deli bar and have them make the sandwich. There's so many products to choose from such as bread, condiments, cheese produce, and a vegetable even my faux meats. Wegmans has their own brand of plant base meats. I can take all of the ingredients home and build it as big as I want and as sloppy as I want. It was just too much to consider but I'm glad I encountered Wegmans. I'm gonna miss it when I go back to the West Coast. My suitcase will be full of Wegmans food instead of souvenirs from the various sites of the area.‍‍

My home Costco is the one in Elkridge and, yes, it can be very busy because of where it's located, but they process you through the checkout lines incredibly fast, no matter how long the lines are. I've learned to park somewhat far from the door just to simplify entry and exit and, if it looks really busy, to take my cart with me from the parking lot. But I buy a lot of organic fruit, fruits and vegetables, and they have them in abundance and way more cost-effective than a standard grocery store. The clothing selection is quite nice and I buy a lot of clothes from there. I see this Costco getting bashed in these other reviews, but it isn't their fault that folks tend to trash the areas just from the pure volume of people coming through. I've never seen them be out of sale items, though sometimes a particular item like broccoli just might not be in that day. I'm retired, so I have the good fortune of being able to go in midday and midweek when it is less crowded. The lines at the gas station can get pretty long, but they process through pretty quickly. Overall, I've had excellent experiences with Costco and the only reason I'm not giving five stars is not their fault, they can't control the crowd volume and what folks do to their product displays.

I forgot to take a picture, but these carts are something out of the future. It's similar how Amazon fresh that you scan prices put them in your cart and pay for them then walk out the door. These carts add up your groceries as you put the items into it. They even have a scale on the bottom to weigh your produce. Even with other items in your cart! You can throw your purse in the cart and hit a button that says personal item and it won't affect the count. I'm not sure whether this is new, but there was an employee that was demonstrating the Features to my friend and I and if you used it, you would get a free grocery bag. We chose not to use it this time because all we bought were a few items from the bulk food section. I'm eager to return and try one of these high tech buggies out.

Walked into ShopRite to get my receipt and the night manager was rude because I asked her to get me…read moremy receipt from a self checkout register she then proceeded to be loud, disrespectful and short with me. During my conversation with her she kept walking away because I was not 100 percent what 2 registers it was as I was speaking to her because she kept sulking and complaining about she has to run a store. The security guard butted into our conversation and escalated the entire situation. They both kept saying I was being rude when I was just trying to get my receipt and the manager kept refusing to do her job which ended in me having to call the cops because how much lying was going on by the staff. I have a video and I plan on escalating this issue.
