Mike Casey is the head coach/owner and an old school Gracie guy.. as real as it gets.. a black belt under Relson Gracie.. super knowledgeable and a great motivator with a no nonsense demeanor. As a beginner I can tell the that the core/fundamental program is awesome.. It is real authentic Gracie Jiu-jitsu.. real combat/ street self defense. The Core program can honestly be done wearing no gi as it is all about real world scenarios, real Gracie style street combat that could save your life. Some schools have gotten away from original Gracie Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and focus entirely on "sport Jiu-jitsu" which has tons of rules and is all about getting points in tournaments.. this is not that school.. although some of the guys do compete.. The blue and higher ranking belts in the school are also very helpful and a great group of guys. Another great thing is that Mike gives you the lesson plan for the whole year, so you know exactly what to expect every class.. The facility is always clean, floor and wall padding always clean, two bathrooms, water fountain etc.. and I always find street parking. The kids program is great for the little ones learning to grapple and is primarily a bully defense program. I'm really grateful for all of the effort Nubreed puts into every detail of their business. I really don't know of another Martial Arts school that goes to the lengths they go to in order to keep operations smooth. In fact, you'd be hard to find many businesses that do so, in general. I myself do the kickboxing and bootcamp 4 days a week with an occasionaly yoga class when i have time and i have seen amazing results. Leon is a great trainer and he pushes you to do your best because he wants results!! Ambria's Zogalaties class makes u sweat as well and is great for toning. I have a very bad experience with the master and it happened with my teenager son more than 10…read moreyears ago and I can't no get it over. one day I went to pick my son and he was pale white and looked messed up like he just had fainted. I asked him what had happened and he told me that the master punched him very hard on his side's ribs and my son son was all bruised like for a week. some parents told me that the master will hide in a corner out of the camera and hit the kids very hard. I was so mad at the freakin master beacause I was unaware of that practice. I don't see any purpose or anything productive out of it. to me, it is a very abusive practice and I hate that master for thar. I feel that nobody should abuse a child or teenager like that.. I never sign for my son to be abused.
