We toured no less than 5 different facilities for our 4 yr old across Seattle and none compared to SCS! Not only is it welcoming and Bible-based but it is safe and has security protocols in place that most schools hadn't even considered (very important when you live in or near Seattle). Our 4 yr old has thrived in pre-k, his teachers are wonderful and caring; and administration has worked with us financially to be able to provide our kiddo a safe, fun, educational and Christ centered environment! read more

Disappointing on many levels. The kids are mostly anti-social, and bullying is rampant and accepted almost like survival of the fittest. Overall, the teachers are nice other than a few exceptions. I was also disappointed by the amount of homework. It was piled on often all at once by multiple teachers. Bible class is offered for only half the year which is surprising for a Christian school. This is not an environment that practices what it preaches. read more

My kids are thriving at this school. The care and education they are receiving here is top notch. The community is big enough to really find your niche, but small enough to know one another on a personal level. My kids' teachers work hard to understand the gifts God has given them and they strive to develop those gifts each day. I was a student at this school, and I want to make sure that people hear this message. Shoreline Christian School claims to be supportive, and open to hearing from the kids. It was the exact opposite. Throughout middle school, I had a bible class for only half of the year. If you claim to be a christian school, you should have a bible class all throughout the year, right? Other than the semester-long class, there was barely any more mention of religion. For spending as much money as you are to enroll here, its a complete waste. Throughout being bullied and picked on for my whole experience at this school, reaching out to staff did nothing. I dint get the help I needed. A select few teachers at this school were kind, and the others were passive aggressive, bitter, and didnt seem to like their jobs. There were a few times where myself and some of my classmates didnt feel safe. "Cliques" is an understatement for the community of kids at this school. There are so little kids that its hard to be able to find friends that you actually like being around. Do your child a favor and send them to public school. Its so much better than here. I honestly wish I could give a 0 star review. I understand that many people have different perceptions of this school, but sharing my experience makes me feel better, that I'm helping people to understand what the community is actually like. I used to go to Shoreline Christian. I was there from Pre-School to freshman year of high school. This school had wonderful, caring teachers, but the environment was far from ideal. Every school has cliques, but at Shoreline, if you aren't into sports, you will probably end up eating lunch by yourself on the floor. This doesn't help the fact that SCS has slowly been deteriorating over the past few years. The school used to hold countless events that would grow the community and supply the school with extra funds (which they need more and more of every year). There used to be an auction, a medieval-themed dinner fundraiser, and a Bazaar that would sell local-made trinkets during Christmastime. Now, this school has none of those. Just a fancy dinner where they ask for money, and a few concerts for the school's band and choir programs. That being said, I do understand that not everyone will have the same experience that I had. The teachers there really do put their all into what they do. Although I don't quite agree with what they are changing, that doesn't deter from the excellent Elementary program that they have. If you want to send your child to SCS, I encourage you to visit, look deep into the type of environment that they will be in, and then decide. Although my experience with the school was poor, I also know students that do not regret going there. read more

(2015) My kids have been at SCS since Kindergarten and are now in 3rd grade. They look forward to school every single day. They love their teachers, the rich program offerings and their classmates. They love the wonderful playground and the inclusive and loving environment. I feel good dropping them off each day knowing they will be nurtured spiritually and stretched academically. We just had an all school talent show and it was mind-blowing to see the talent, support and self confidence of the student body. read more

We recently moved our son from another Christian School in the area. We have been very impressed with the warm welcome and inclusive atmosphere, that is a contrast from the previous environment. The teachers are what sets Shoreline Christian apart. Their focus is on the kids and the teaching and instruction is the best. When you take a tour look deeper and watch the interaction between the students and the teachers and you will see the difference. I wish I had sent my son here sooner and will be sending all my kids to Shoreline Christian in the very near future. My daughter has been at this school since preschool. She has particularly enjoyed the music program and team sports. She has made good friends from the Seattle area as well as friends from other countries such as South Korea. The teaching staff shows great commitment to the school community and larger community. I admire the way teachers care about the overall learning experience from academic work to service projects. read more

Shoreline Christian is a fabulous school! My son started at SCS in kindergarten. I wasn't totally sure about private school when we started, but now that he is there, I can't imagine him anywhere else. He is on the autism spectrum, and the teachers and staff have been so caring and encouraging of him. They take the time to do what is needed to provide support in the areas that are challenging for him, but they always see him from the viewpoint of recognizing and nurturing his strengths. The smaller class sizes make it possible for teachers to really individualize their teaching to meet each kid where they are, whether needing extra support or extra challenge. The parent community is hard-working, kind, and honestly accepting--I feel like we care about one another's kids and their well-being as we care about our own. My child went here last year and we left after a year. I still regret sending her there. I've debated for a long time whether or not to write a review, but every now and then, months later, my daughter tears up about the emotional bullying she endured at this school. Cruel children, even crueler parents, and nearly every "incident" inadequately handled by teachers and administrators. I thought I did my research looking for a private school for my child...boy do I wish I'd know people I could've talked with before sending her here. This school has been a huge blessing to my family. I've watched my kids grow and thrive this year in particular. The teachers have been amazing. They truly know my kids, want the best for them, and have been very effective teachers. Both of my children are ahead academically in all subjects. I love that this is a challenging private Christian school that doesn't feel elitist or stuffy. I had concerns with sending my kids to private school because, while I want the best possible education for them, I did not want to raise elitists. I don't worry about that here. Everyone is welcome here and it doesn't matter who you are or where you come from. And, this may seem like a small thing, but I really love that there are no uniforms and kids are free to wear what they want. When I asked about this, they said that each child is made special by God and should be free to express themselves through their clothing. This speaks to the larger culture of celebrating and respecting each child's uniqueness. This is a safe place where kids are free to ask questions and make mistakes without feeling like they are going to be made fun of or thought less of. I love who my kids are becoming and I know this school has had a lot to do with it. There is room for improvement, and they are making the steps necessary in making it happen.
