This Facility is AMAZING!! The staff was excellent and always looking to help. Even the food was delicious and I always asked for doubles.

DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR LOVED ONE!!!! I know first hand how badly they treat the residents. They treat them all like a dollar sign! My friends mom fell out of the bed on hard cement floor in her room twice. They steal their belongings I.e. jewelry their dentures their hearing aides they feed them slop purred ! The admiration especially the social worker Marie is so underhanded and nefarious! They trespassed my friend the second dayher mom was in there for rehab because she would not change her insurance to theirs because they get paid for the 1st 100 days by insurance. She SAID ABSOLUTELY NOT! They got her thrown out and she was her mo's POA the abuse and neglect was horrible that they did to her mom and then she got her out at the eleventh hour she was almost dead after 30 days then they got scared and called Adult Protective Services on her after they abused her mom and my friend got charged with their neglect!!!! I urge you I beg you DO NOT Put anyone you love in any of these facilities in South Jersey they are all owned and operated as one! Be aware of the hospitals that make you put your loved ones in these places under the guise of REHAB! They don't rehab they give the patient the option . They ask them if " they want to work out today" ! Please! We all know what is going on. The longer they stay the worse they get and the more money these places make! They lie about everything! Be prepared to visit your loved ones daily and deliver them food while they are there. The meals they serve are shameful and offer little to no nutritional value for people who are sick and recovering. Avoid at all costs. read more

This killer did nothing to help my mother with a simple UTI that turned into sepsis that killed her she had a 10-day window and she did nothing even when she was in the hospital this killer was assigned to her against my wishes. Go read all of her reviews they are all lies trust me I am the person you need to speak to about this doctor. Stay away from her stay away from Kim stay away from shorrock Gardens and you will live. And Shalom the owner you lied you lied big time and so did your staff. You said to keep her at your facility when I called 911 when she was past the point of no return and you watched her suffer for 9 days and did nothing. To anybody who is even thinking about putting your loved one in this place don't if you want your loved one to live do not put them there the doctor knows nothing the POC knows nothing their nurses know nothing they cannot do a simple catheter urine test to check for UTI. And two the nurse that came to me as they were Wheeling out my mother and told me that my mother did not have any infection she died you have no idea what you were talking about. To anybody reading my review repost post on Facebook post everywhere because this doctor needs to be stopped this Care center as they call themself needs to be closed down and not just fined. Your loved one will go there to die, Dr Throperchel is the absolute worse doctor other than her PA Kim and the staff and the administration there they're a joke how they're in business I have no idea. And at 169 million for all complete Care facilities you think they would put some money into this place to get decent respectable nurses pcts and rehabilitation people and physical therapists. I will not ever forget my time at this place and I will post it everywhere that looks can be deceiving. You take a tour and it's staged because let me tell you once we got there it was a whole different world. If you can keep your loved one home if it's a simple thing as rehab just to get strength in their legs you can do it yourself trust me. I have had the most horrible nightmare with Shorrock Garden Care. The staff is rude and uncaring and always neglecting the patients. My dad is 88 and on dialysis. He went there from the hospital because of a slight fracture in his back. They drugged him up with Oxycodone, Steriods and Zynex all at the same time. The doctors are only out for their money prescribing and over medicating the patient. My dad lost weight. They were literally starving him and pumping him with drugs. i dont think he will survive if he doesnt leave there soon. My sister is the power of attorney for his medical and lives in California and she wont let my father leave even though he begged to not go back there after he had a GI bleed from being over medicated and not eating. They are desperate for patients. If you love your loved ones dont bring them to Shorrock. They push carcinogenic chemicals into the air that smells like baby powder. It causes lung cancer. My dad went there for rehab but he's worse then when he got their and theres no rehab to be found. He wasnt showered for over three weeks because they said he refused it which wasn't true and I had to clean his bed sheets myself. This is the most uncaring place for elder care. They dont want to see them get better and leave so they give them drugs that will weaken them. My dad was in the hospital for 5 days after the GI bleed and wasn't aloud to eat. Then the doctor prescribed two medications that suppress appetite make you vomit and causes sleeplessness. Dont go to Shorrock they are awful!!! read more

The staff was very caring to my mother and me. They took the time to talk to us. The care was very good, for instance the rule about not leaving you in a hoyer pad while in your wheelchair (unlike some other facilities). The atmosphere is calm and soothing, the activities very fun and the activities people very nice. All in all an excellent nursing home. read more

When she was in the rehab unit there was amazing care that's why we thought it would be a great place to transition to for long term care. We were wrong. Brighton Unit-On multiple occasions my grandmother has called me to call the nursing home staff because they do not respond to the call light or they tell her she has to wait to have her diaper changed or be washed or do anything. She has had multiple UTIs and infections because of the nursing home. The most recent incidence she called me at 9:30 eastern time because she was told at 7 pm that she had to wait to have her diaper changed after she expressed she needed to be changed and that the diaper was cutting into her leg. I called the nursing home consistently at 4-5 different numbers with no answer for 1 hour straight. I can provide phone records. My father who still lives in NJ drove to the nursing home and had to bang on the door for someone to finally go take care of her. The staff proceeded to not be friendly with her and think she was dramatic for asking her family for help. I did report it to the police but they said it is out of their realm. I will be calling management again about the incident. They always have some excuse or that they are sorry. But it doesn't not get better. I know healthcare facilities are understaffed as I work for one in Out of state but that does not mean the residents should go without basic care. I would be willing to discuss this further and give more details about other instances. I will say some of the staff is super kind and accommodating and does their best but when the rotten staff outweigh the good ones this is what happens. They are working on renovations while our loved ones are barely being taken care of. My grandmother has complained that even the quality of diapers has gone down since the nursing home management has changed. Complete Care has made this nursing home worse. I do believe there are many wonderful staff members still there, I worry for what will happen when they get tired of picking up the slack for those that have lose their compassion. read more

The good and the bad. Let's start with the good. The rehab team from Reliant is the best. A very professional and caring team that worked on all aspects of rehab. No complaints about the food. There was a nice variety and it was fine. Overall, the facility is clean. I spent almost two months of my life visiting Shorrock Garden Care Center. I have worked in the field and have a nursing background. Our first twenty-four hours there were not good ones. My father's room to be changed three times within that short period of time. Several problems we encountered were enough to have me speak with management a few times. For example, he was to have oxygen on at all times. Upon my arrival, I note that doesn't even have his oxygen set up anywhere near him. "It's down the hall in the day room" was the response that I got when I inquired. On other occasions, the tank was entirely empty. My father was continent, he was to be toileted (or reminded) every two hours or so. This was never done. Every single time we arrived there, he would be in a disposable brief. My father kept telling us that the male aid at night told him it was "a rule that he had to wear one". Even the Physical Therapist would take the time to change him back into underwear when she encountered him in a disposable brief. It's really sad when you start getting phone calls asking you to leave a review for the place while you loved one is still a patient. The assistant director called me the day before Thanksgiving while I was grocery shopping. It was a heart stopping moment to hear, "This is Shorrock Garden Care Center..." and you find them only calling to ask you for a review. You go to visit your loved one and then again, "Will you leave us a review?" Why wouldn't you ask during the discharge process? I would like to tell you about my visit with my mother today. When I arrived around 11 AM her roommate and her self were still not up. The call bell according to them had been on for over an hour. I ended up having to assist her roommate putting her shoes on helping her up from the bed and getting her in the bathroom. The call Bell remained On we requested assistance multiple times without receiving any help. Once my mother's roommate was done in the bathroom the emergency call Bell for the bathroom was pulled with no resolve. Once again my daughter went out and stated that my mother's roommate needed assistance. We were told at that point by the nurse that she had patients That were more of a priority because they were in pain. I ended up going into the bathroom assisting my mother's roommate and cleaning up putting a diaper on her and assisting her back to her side of the room. I had to assist my mother to the bathroom meanwhile the call bell is still on at this point we're about an hour and a half with the call bell ringing with no assistance. So then my daughter had to continue to assist my mother's roommate in getting her wrist brace on and I began making the beds. At this point my mother needs assistance in the bathroom to wipe her behind. I have been a nurse for 23 years working in long-term care for 11 of them starting off first as an Aid and then becoming a nurse. And I would have never refused to assist individuals that needed help especially if we had a call Bell ringing for at this point almost 2 hours. A nurse from another wing came down to assist my mother in the bathroom and then continued to help my mother's roommate get dressed so she could go down for lunch since it was almost noon. I Could understand having worked in this field that there were times that we were very short but it was all hands on deck at that point. My mother and her roommate do not require a lot of assistance they're not total care. While I thank the nurse that came down from another side to help out the other nurse who is actually in my mother's wing was in the hallway the whole time. She actually was rude to the nurse that helped out stating something along the lines of i don't have time to do that when I have medications to pass. So at this point I know that all of the other phone calls prior where my mother was begging for help from me an to the point where she calls the front desk or Brighton itself gets hung up on still received no help is an actual true and factual occurrence. So my question is while you have employees that care you also have a more employees that don't care. So the question is do I notify ombudsman or do I notify the state of this form of neglect. Because if this is blatantly happening While a family member is in trying to have a visit with their family what's going on when I'm not there. And what happens to the patients that don't have family come in. This is unacceptable it will not be tolerated and if it continues I will report it to whatever authority I need too. I ended up having to have my daughter leave as it was Father's Day and my husband was sitting in the parking lot for 30 minutes waiting for us to go to lunch. So my two hour visit was spent taking care of my mother and her roommate making beds changing diapers and it was not a social visit at all. I left saturated in sweat and was furious. They are human beings and not animals and should be treated with some type of respect. Unless I am getting paid to work there I should not have to take care of any patient including my mother, that is why you are being paid. read more
